Hi CaptainKirk, We are booked for the Caribbean and for us we prefer the extended balcony that is not in the sphere. Sure, it isn't as private, but we feel we would get more light/sunshine. And being up on a higher deck, not too many people would be able to see into your balcony. It's definitely more private (and quiet) than lying out on a lounger at the Lido deck. That is our preference but both are good options...

Yes, would really enjoy some detailed input about the DO balcony cabin on the Sun Princess. I have spoken with Princess Cruise Line reps on a couple of occasions about it and they are uncertain what makes this cabin "Premium", other than the size of the balcony. Seems to me it's quite pricey if that's the only difference between that and a regular balcony... I did notice that on cruisedeckplans.com, if you click on the Sun Princess DO balcony cabin and look at the Features tab, down at the bottom it reads "Category DO balconies include Signature Benefits." This website is not related to the official Princess Cruise Line website, so I have no idea how accurate the information is. I, too, am very curious to hear from passengers who actually stayed in the DO category cabin.

Hey KatSand, We were lucky enough to get our room changed to Aloha Deck 12. Since your cruise isn't until April 2024, a better cabin location might just open up. Just keep checking in on your cruise. Good luck and happy sailing! 🙂

I am booked on a Discovery Princess cruise to the Mexican Riviera for October 2023, mini-suite M325 (Deck 15). Does anyone know if this cabin gets a lot of noise from the Lido Deck above?
