Love Alaska and Ketchikan in particular. Very easy town to walk around and enjoy. Last summer, we saw a bear rummaging through the trash cans in a neighborhood. Police were there trying to capture him and alerting the public to stay away. Please feel free to read my review: https://zest4travel.wordpress.com/2017/02/23/fun-in-ketchikan/

Here is a link to my review....hope it gives you some ideas. https://zest4travel.wordpress.com/2017/02/23/fun-in-ketchikan/

Lessons are taught by the dancers (professional production crew) onboard. Times will be noted in your daily planner.

We've sailed on both. Holland tends to be an older crowd, with fewer children. That can be good and bad....fewer kids in the kids club (so yours get more attention) but then again...fewer kids for them to make friends with. I agree with choosing the itinerary that works best for you. If trying to decide between the glaciers, here is a good article on the pros/cons of each. https://zest4travel.wordpress.com/2017/03/12/pros-and-cons-of-hubbard-glacier-glacier-bay-and-tracy-arm-fjord/

Thank you so much for posting! We are doing a very similar cruise on NCL this August. You've given us some wonderful ideas for what to do. (The waffles looked delicious!)
How rough were the seas for the crossing over to Norway from the UK?
Thank you,
Gull
We had great weather....seas were pretty calm. And yes...the waffles are wonderful! Have a great cruise. :)

I posted this review about 2 weeks ago, but it is not showing up in the forum (I've done numerous searches for it.) I had lots of positive comments regarding it, so thought I would repost it for those who are considering this cruise in 2018 or 19. It is quite long, with many pictures, so am posting the link. I do not receive any monetary benefit, just happy to share my experiences. Happy sailing! :ship:

Check your Celebrity account online and see if the beverage package is discounted there. They have been known to offer a slight reduction before sailing. Sometimes, there are promotions offered on embarkation. Have a great cruise!

On Equinox lasst December, only had the gray pool towels offered to us when leaving the ship. Would have preferred a larger, thicker towel provided in our cabin. We always made sure to return our towels, but did wonder how many got lost.

December 2017....$4/person. Went to the taxi stand just outside ship security. No need to book a return....there are plenty of taxis waiting at the beach to take people back. We were there early....around 10am. Went back by 1pm when the beach was starting to get crowded.

We have done many cruises to Alaska. I have several articles on my blog....http://www.zest4travel.wordpress.com Maybe there will be some information there that will be helpful.

I’ll be on the same cruise and was wondering the same thing. Have you signed up for the Meet & Mingle? If so, I look forward to meeting you!
We have signed up for the Connections party....received a confirmation phone call and email today! See you onboard. :)

We are going on our first December cruise this year....Dec 9th on the Equinox. Will the ship be decorated that early? Or will they do it during our cruise? Also, are there special holiday themed drinks, foods, activities on board? We are really looking forward to an early Christmas celebration with our family.

When we have the Classic package, we always upgrade as soon as we board. Premium package will also cover freshly squeezed juices in Oceanview Cafe, specialty coffees at Al Bacio and bottled water. There are more reasons to upgrade than just martinis. :)

On Solstice class ships, all adjoining rooms have an exterior door which can be closed to the hallway. Then, the cabin doors are left open (can not be closed) to make them adjoining. Doors are not inside the cabin, as they are on Millennium class ships or hotel rooms.

We are in a regular 2A balcony cabin. Will we have a fridge..If so I will bring a couple of small bottles of cranberry juice, with me? I normally have fresh orange-cranberry juice every morning from one of our local produce places..
Yes...there will be a small fridge in the cabin. Room service can also bring you cranberry juice each morning.
And for the cruiser who asked about attending muster again...yes, it is required by law.

All 2019 sailings should be posted by mid to late December 2017

We've done this our past 3 cruises. Received C1 all three times...once on the hump and twice on the aft. If it is cheaper than choosing your own, go for it.

My go to off-menu drink is grapefruit vodka and tonic.

I have a lot of information about Alaska on my travel blog...http://www.zest4travel.wordpress.com Included are posts about the various ports, glaciers and even a packing list. Hope you find it helpful.

This is from the Celebrity website: Please allow a minimum of 3 business days from the end of your sailing, and then you may contact us at 1-844-418-6824 or via email at celebrityonetouch@celebrity.com to obtain the requested information.
Additionally, as part of our SeaPass® account system, there may be pending authorizations placed on your credit or debit card throughout the cruise in order to verify the availability of funds. These normally fall off within 3-5 business days, however, some banking institutions may take longer.
Likewise, if you feel that you have received a charge in error, after verifying with everyone in your party, we ask that you please at 1-844-418-6824 or via email at celebrityonetouch@celebrity.com so that we may assist you further in this matter.

2019 sailings should be released in December of this year.

Each Elite passenger receives the benefits. There should be a letter in your cabin at embarkation stating the perks you receive and the times/places of the special events. If it is not there, ask your cabin steward to bring it as soon as possible. You don't want to miss out on something!

We will remember the beauty of St. Maarten and St. Martin and look forward to visiting again soon.
