After researching this some more, some people say that even though our itinerary says "Amber Cove" that they really go to Taino Bay in Puerto Plata, and not Amber Cove. I hope not, because the Amber Cove port looks a lot nicer/more fun than the Taino Bay port.

Is the cabana rental only available to Carnival cruisers? All of the reviews I have seen have been by people on Carnival cruises. The website for the Amber Cove Port mentions the cabana rentals, but has no information on how to go about renting them. My NCL cruise is stopping at Amber Cove, but we don't have the pool / port area or cabanas listed as one of our excursions.

I understood the equipment rental part and was thinking more along the lines of the wave mats, the snorkel gear, etc..., but I was not considering the clamshell as "equipment", because it was listed as a "shore excursion", therefore, In my thinking, should qualify for the excursion discount. They're tricky!

I was considering an equipment rental to be a wave mat or snorkel gear, not the clamshell, because the clamshell was listed as a "shore excursion", which in my opinion, should qualify for the excursion discount. If you're going to call it an excursion. They shouldn't have it listed that way. They should just wait until people arrive and then just rent it out like they do all other "equipment" (like the umbrellas) at the rental kiosk at GSC.

How do I get it to apply my shore excursion credit when I book it. It is asking me for my credit card information. It looks like I can select to pay by credit card or by NCL gift card. Do I select the gift card option, even though it's an excursion credit and not a gift card? I would have thought that it would have just recognized that I had this shore excursion credit and just add it automatically at check-out.

I'm trying to make my clamshell rental online in my NCL account, and it's asking me to enter my CC information to pay $44.10. Is this because my cruise hasn't reached the paid in full date yet? I thought my $50 shore excursion credit was supposed to be applied to this.
