What @Ms411ย said...pesticides and human waste are the big ones in many areas.ย

Damn!! I didn't know that even though it does make sense.ย

Hey Ms411 if you get on the email list that sends you the results of the water testing please let us know here so we can get in the list too. Thank youย

  2. So where would these contaminates originate from? I think it's great the EPA tests the popular beaches in the USVI.

I understand there's all this little thingys in the water we can't see that might hurt us. Did something leak out or was there a "spill". Someone dump something they shouldn't have?ย

I never really thought about that but probably should have.ย

That's why I keep going back because of the crystal clear water.๐Ÿ˜Ž

  3. Absolutely seedy, Mexico??!! I've been in some wonderfully just dilapidated bars especially back in the 90's in the old Cozumel.

The only thing undesirable was me.๐Ÿ˜.

    ย

These bars were not modest they were what drinkers like myself refer to as a "Dive". Best "Dives" in the world are in Mexico have been for the last 50 years. Ice cold Coronas $1(US) all day long. I love Mexican Dives I make a point to find one every chance I get. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Thank you so much for this valuable updateโ€ฆ. Will now make others aware of the poor state of Plywood, so they make the right and informed choice.

Wait a minute!! Those rundown especially rundown Southern Caribbean beach bars serve the COLDEST๐Ÿฅถ๐Ÿฅถ๐ŸฅถBeer EVER.ย

I love rundown beach bars in the Caribbean they're nothing but fun and like you said PORT ROYAL they're not pretending to be something they're not.๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐Ÿคœ๐Ÿค›

  6. I've been to Grenada twice did absolutely nothing for me both times. Going back next year don't want to stay on the ship but have no interest in doing another island tour.ย

    Very few beaches.ย

Someone figures out a nice day at this destination I'm all ears. Thanksย

  7. When you get off the ship you'll walk into the Curacao Welcome Center.ย

You can pick up a nice fold up walking map of the city it's FREE. Just pick one up as your walking into town. You'll see it. FREE.ย

    ย

It helps a lot and it's very easy to figure out, and it's fun. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  8. Yes if you're going into town you want to go on your own time. No worries no hurry. People everywhere, great shopping great little pubs.ย

    ย

It's a nice town to walk around great vibe. I'm just saying it can certainly be done by yourselves. I'm solo and I really like walking around Willemstad too many nice little bars to much to do and see on someone else's time.ย

If your a bar hopper like I am you'll be in heaven. Have fun ๐Ÿคœ๐Ÿค›

  9. PORT ROYALย

I found a cruise next year that's going to take me back to this destination. I have some time to decide on what I plan to do on the island.

If I don't end up doing an island tour with Karambola, gonna do a private rhum distillery tour, end up at DePaz and hang out on Mt. Pelee for the day. Hope you can join me I'll share the dates of the sailing with you later. No hurry.

    ย

Coral Princess 14 day Caribbean Circle. Next year, Great dates great itineraries nice ship. It'll work and I'm picky.ย

    ย

Going to that Filibuste Distillery you were talking about. I don't really want to go up in the mountains again I want to drink rhum all day and hangout at the Depaz distillery on Mt. Pelee. They have a great bar inside the store I'll be there. Hopefully see you too PORT ROYAL.

  10. The walking tour is free because you don't need a guide. I walked around town several times by myself. Willemstad is a very nice very family oriented town. Sidewalk entertainment great vibe and nice little home bars.ย

You can walk all over town by yourself or with your own group on your own time do whatever you want without a guide. There's thousands of people everywhere you can't get lost.ย

  11. Bubble sounds just fine. You just made my choice for me. I love ethnic with a shabby ambience I'll fit right in.ย

Thank you very much PORT ROYAL.๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ

    ย

    No S.H.T., that'll work.

    Appreciate you.ย

If taking a private tour, discreetly, and confidentiality, ask oneโ€™s driver if it would be possible to try โ€œBush Rumโ€.

The rum is basically Moonshine infused with various herbs (?) grown on the island. ย
    ย

Certain infusions can have the effect of numbing oneโ€™s lips and mouth. ย With other infusions giving the feeling that oneโ€™s eyes are trying to escape via the back of oneโ€™s head.

    ย

A vendor will have a great variety, with those for the very, very brave โ€œunder the counterโ€.

    ย

    How brave is one? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

    ย

    PORT ROYAL I love moonshine๐Ÿ˜ I love herbs too!!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

I have a question for you I found a cruise for next year it ports in Dominica. Seeing how our friend and pal Levi Baron is no longer doing island tours of some sort.

If you were to go back to Dominica what would you recommend or how would you spend you cruise visit?

    ย

I was thinking about trying to get a group together and get our own taxi van. I've never been to a beach on Dominica before I was hoping maybe to end up at a beach with a bar for the afternoon. Thanks for any help Todd

    ย

  13. Well I have to agree with blue_water.

The beach you want to go to is based upon the vibe you're looking for.ย

Don't let anyone fool you, you can find a nice beach and have a wonderful day on St. Thomas even with 5-6 ships in port. I've done it many times.

    ย

Sapphire gets a little busy on port days. It doesn't matter there's plenty of room great beach fabulous water and excellent views.ย

Sapphire is a great never fail you beach experience.ย

    ย

I've made my thoughts on Magens Bay clear for years. Awesome, one of a kind bay and beach more than 3 ships in port, it falls apart after that I can't do it.ย

I love Magens Bay just like everyone else does getting in and getting out with 5-7 ships in port, exactly Sapphire Beach๐Ÿ˜Ž.

I prefer the east side of the island beaches, a little quieter better views chillin vibe. It's nice over there.ย

    ย

Secret Harbor is great if you like to snorkel it's a great swimming beach love the Sunset Grille I love that place the beach is somewhat small though.ย

If it were me get on your roll call, put a group together. As a group head over to Sapphire Beach or at least one of the nicer beaches on the other side of the island. Another thing on the way back you can have your taxi driver stop and you can pick up a drink or a cold beer. That's what's so nice about St. Thomas you can responsibly drink alcohol, openly.

Exactly that's why we keep going back.ย

    Hope this helps.

  14. Thank you reedprincess!!

Day Pass at Rendezvous that's a great idea!!

Fond Doux tour that sounds right up my alley. Chocolate experience on St. Lucia definitely right up my alley.

    ย

Calabash Cove I can do one of these.

    ย

Here's the deal I LOVE Cosols tour I love Herods tour. Spencer's Beach Break I don't know if I want to do those anymore.ย

I was trying to avoid the drive through the island at the same time have a beach or a pool to chill out on for the afternoon.ย

Thank you for the great recommendations. They'll work.

    ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ

    ย

  15. Thanks reedprincess that sounds like a bit much to get there by taxi and I have to have a bar and restroom.ย

I'm looking at sailings for next year and St. Lucia keeps showing up on the itineraries. Love the island been going now for 25 years if I end up back on the island for a day I really wanted to do something I hadn't done before. Thanks for your help.

  16. It depends on how many ships are in port. If there are 2 or more ships in port and they port earlier than you. You get to Eagle or Palm Beach around 2pm. It's going to be difficult doing anything on either beach especially Eagle.ย

    They'll be slammed.

Normally when I go to Eagle Beach I go early, I'm out by 4pm and Princess always leaves at 10pm.ย

I would just go and hope for the best.

    Good luck with that.ย

    ย

  17. Best parasailing in the Caribbean is on Orient Bay. Never parasailed in my life laid on the beach, watched them all day every time I was on the beach. Orient was made for parasailing that's why it's so popular. Wide open bay calm clear water it works big-time. Looked like A LOT of fun too. ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ

    ย

If your going to do things of this nature on your cruise vacation I highly recommend travel insurance.

  18. Ms411 I wasn't sure what was going on with all these different port times.

Unfortunately the last several times on the island there were somewhere between 5-7 ships in port.ย

I understand completely all the ships can't port at the same time.ย

I've also noticed many of the ships are spending less time on the island.

Coming in later and leaving earlier.

SO FAR Princess hasn't done that.ย

I thought it was just me.ย

Port times are very important to solo travellers like myself I plan my day based on when my ship ports and leaves at the end of the day.ย

These shorter and shorter port schedules don't sit well with me.

Seems a bit disingenuous. 3-5 hours max.on St.Thomas would do nothing more than piss me off.ย

When I have to get back on the ship after spending every last second I could on the island that pisses me off.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜Ž

    ย

Carnival ports at Havensight at 11am disembarks at 3:30pm. WTH!!!

    ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

It's not just funny it's true!!
