  1. Gotcha. I guess wait it will be. Can't be affording $1800 for drinks. Lol.
  2. Wow, that DOU in the casino is going to cost 2 Cheers. Lol. Probably Carnival's intention? 😬
  3. New monkey wrench into the works: 2 of us (myself and a companion) have DOU Everywhere. I've added someone to the room. Worst case scenario I would have to get Cheers for 3rd person. But everyone says you usually can't get it ahead of time. If you have to wait to do in once onboard, do you really have to? I mean, are they going to make you-- because I may not want to buy the package.
  4. Wow. Hard to prove a negative, so maybe I was just given incorrect information on board. But still, you'd think when they go to run your card, it would be apparent. Maybe I chose not to buy drinks, and used the liquor in my room. Now I'm intrigued, because I'm all over the little details.
  5. No doubt. The Cheers vs not is a separate topic. Once you decide it's worth it, it's only more so with gratuities.
  6. You're correct. It's exactly the opposite. Drinks on Us (in casino or Everywhere) charged nothing for drinks, unless TX or NY where you pay tax. Cheers! adds 18% gratuity.
  7. Absolutely correct. On both accounts- tipping is always appreciated, and when you do well &/or up front, it pays dividends. I have had offers which included Drinks on Us in the Casino (only) and Elite offers which included Drinks On Us- Everywhere. I have never been charged anything (exactly $0.00) with the Drinks On Us- either type. EXCEPT when sailing from Galveston where you pay sales tax for TX, which ended up being 67¢ or so for a drink-- and cannot start using either of the drink packages the first day- but you also don't pay for the first day of Cheers! (Same in NY from what I see, but never sailed from there.) Which was genuinely surprising, because I thought it was essentially the same as Cheers! (It is in so many if not all other ways.) But of course I tip well. And the first time I was there, I didn't even know I was going to get free drinks later in the evening, but they said based my casino points... obviously very nice.
