What did you end up doing? if anything. Looking to do something similar but certainly not an experienced kayaker

Planning early for a 2025 Alaskan Cruise. Looking to get out on the water as either a couple or in a small group to explore the area a little more and maybe get off the beaten track. Thinking of doing this from Sitka (in port 9am - 5pm) what experiences have people had and what would you suggest doing or avoiding. Open to options from other ports as well. Thanks in advance.
