I have a Feb 28 Enchantment cruise scheduled and am happy Princess is providing their policies this far in advance.  I have no problem with vaccination and testing but the masking requirement will result in an experience that to me will be far from pleasurable.  Today I will cancel.

We have a 14-day Panama Canal booked in March, and will cancel as well. This will be our third cancellation. Princess canceled the first one, and we canceled the second after they played this game again last year. Wearing a mask on board is not an option. In addition, they have canceled all the things we do while on board (we never sit out by the pool).

It's just not worth the stress waiting to see what changes. We are Senior Nomads traveling the country and booked this cruise since we'll already be near FLL at the time. We can hop on a last minute cruise that meets our requirements, or we can get back on the road two weeks early.

Cruise ships should be a bubble. Require what you want to board and while in port, but on board should be mask optional with all previous recreational opportunities available.

Some are told to stay in their cabins but I don’t know what percentage. Deactivating cruise cards/medallions etc would just be one more way to discourage the sick from spreading something around the ship. If they’re found violating it a future ban would be appropriate imo.

If someone displays symptoms like coughing with obvious congestion or is found with a fever using a portable temp check device a trip to the medical facility would seem to be in order to have them looked at closer. At least it would reduce odds of catching something but granted it wouldn’t stop everything. Seems like common sense in such an environment after this.

There are other reasons for cough and /or congestion.  My husband has allergies and is always sneezing it having to blow his nose.  I have had a cough for years (made worse by a mask) for other reasons. Neither of us have ever been quarantined to our cabin before because there was no need to. After 40 years of cruising, I don't plan on allowing that to happen now because someone thinks I should be.

  3. Our Baltic cruise scheduled for May was cancelled yesterday.  We only have $200 Future Cruise Deposit in it, so the money is no big deal. They want us to rebook another cruise out of Southampton (we were booked out of Copenhagen), and pay an additional $3500 because it is three days longer, or another date out of Copenhagen with an additional $1200.  Sure, we'd get $400 OBC, but we're already getting that.  I don't think we will rebook.  We're not going to wear a mask on a cruise ship, or be herded around doing ship excursions.  Maybe if things change in the future we'll come back to cruising.

Anyone seeing an issue where the dinning info under “my journey” part of the Medallion app does not match what is showing under the online cruise personalizer?

My cruise personalizer shows late traditional which is correct, but the info under my journey shows anytime dinning which is incorrect. That leads to another question, with traditional dining ones cruise card would show which dining room and which table you had been assigned to. How is this done with the medallion cruises?

Following, as ours is showing the same. It won't hurt to confirm once on board, I guess.

  5. Just off the ecstasy yesterday. It was not much different than other ships. A little smaller is all. The service was not the best, but that is Carnival and not the ship.

Sent from my SM-S975L using Forums mobile app

I was with him on this cruise, and he means the service was not the best due to obvious cutbacks by Carnival, at least compared to the others we have been on.

I, on the other hand, think the Ecstasy needs to be retired. She is worn out. I have a long list of reasons why, which I will let Carnival know.

  6. Day 3 - Nassau

And this brings me to my proudest moment on a Carnival Cruise! The next event was the paper airplane contest, where the goal was distance. Competition was sparse with only four competitors total. I, however, have the advantage as I am employed by Lockheed Martin, the aeronautical company that makes the F-35 fighter jet! Never mind that my job is computer programming and has nothing to do with that. I still represented the company well and took first place, winning a coveted Ship on a Stick! Four cruises and I've been dying to win one of those puppies. My mother will be so proud.

You would be envious of our Ship-On-A-Stick collection, and we only keep one from each ship! In fact, on one cruise we were giving them away to our fellow cruisers! :D

  7. I have over 15 years online experience with RCI. I have never had a single problem with the website. I think that the OP needs to check their own computers/tablets/smartphones. The problem seems to be their own equipment, NOT RCI!

Consider yourself lucky. It's the only site I am having problems with, and I've been unable to even get to the homepage for several days this time.

  8. I don't know if it's true, but our Cabin Steward on the Breakaway last week said that one of the changes on the Escape will be the return of a taller atrium.

Would love to book her transatlantic. What are all of those sea days like? Are there additional activities available during the day since there are no ports?
