  1. We just returned and the ticket booklets were not available while we were there. Don't know if they will be later or not. Passes and individual tokens were our only options. We used tokens and spent less than the 3-day pass, but it all depends on how much traveling you plan on doing.

  2. I love Sinan! We cruise with him back when he was Bingo Boy, I think on the Dawn. I just got off the Getaway with him a few weeks ago and he was great as CD! Wish he was going to be on the Breakaway next week (we're on May4th sailing, too), but I've only had one CD who was annoying. I think his name was John and he was actually the CD with Sinan as BB. :D

  3. I've done a few searches thru this thread, but haven't found my answer. I've read that the Amtrak station is located across the street from SkyTrain, and SkyTrain is close to Canada Place. What I'm trying to find out is how easy it is to get to SkyTrain (I have read in another thread that it is 8 or 10 lanes and very hard to cross). Are there many steps at the Main street station or the Waterfront station? We are traveling before and after our cruise in October, so may have two pieces of rolling luggage apiece, as well as carry-ons.

Also, are taxis easily available at the Amtrak station, or should we plan on calling for one? Do they take US dollars?

Lastly, our first stop is Victoria. Are US dollars easily acceptable there? I hate to get money transferred over for a taxi and one port stop if I don't have to.

    Thanks!

  4. If a friend of mine has a certificate from when the points program switched over, can she still use it if she hasn't applied it to a cruise? Was there an expiration date? If so, has anyone tried to redeem it? Any replies are appreciated. Thanks!

There should be an expiration date on the certificate. If she received the coupon when the final certificates were send out (the number on it will have an FC at the end or beginning, I forget which one), those certificates had to be used by 1/31/2010.

Don't know what the expiration date is on others, but there should be an expiration date on the certificate.

  5. All of the Final Certificates sent out last year had an expiration date of January 31, 2010. Not only was that in the letter I received with my certificates, but it was also on the certs themselves. It is true that you could book a cruise past 1/31/2010, but the certs also had to be applied by that date. I would certainly try sending NCL a letter, but unfortunately it's going to come down to whether or not someone is feeling generous.

    Good Luck!

  6. AAAAH! I didn't get an automated response. I sent the email to cashiers@ncl.com. I've sent several more emails. I've gotten no response, not even automated. What am I doing wrong?

Do you have a PCC or are you a Latitudes member? If so, I'd call one of them to check into it. Even if the cashiers do not work weekends, at least then maybe you can email what you've previously sent to them to show that you sent them in on time.

  7. Procrastinator didn't email the certificate numbers for a final compass rewards until last week. Haven't heard anything from them, and final payment date is next week. Also, had to use the certificate by end of January. Any advice?

Resend your original email (so it has the date on it), reiterating when you sent it. When I sent in our first batch last summer and had not heard from them after a week, I resent my original email with an additional note. Not only were my certificates applied within a few days, but I also received an email apologizing for the delay and explaining why it was taking so long. When we sent our last certs after Christmas they were received on a Friday and applied by Monday.

  8. I have 3 certificates from the old Compass Reward Points. Its 100 points One Category Upgrade. I have 3 of them. Can I trade these in for onboard credit? What would 300 points get me? I have to book a cruise by 1/31/10 in order to use them but can cruise anytime until 1/31/2011.

All I can say is, you never know until you ask. I emailed the info for our last two Compass Reward certs last Friday, and they were applied today.

I also had three 100 upgrade certs. I mentioned that I had read that pax had been able to use them for OBC in the past, and asked if that was possible. We did not receive OBC, but they did change decrease the price of the AF I had booked to the price of a BA, then "upgraded" us back into the original AF. It's only a difference of $60, but it's $60 less we'll have to make when final payment is due, and we wouldn't have gotten it if I hadn't asked. ;)

  9. My daughter still has one certificate left, and needs to use it. I'm sure she'd appreciate the simplicity of it. Did this mail-in offer apply to everyone? Are there special circumstances?

We received the letter as well, but our original certificates were correct. I just assumed the FC at the end of the number stood for Final Certificate. If there is an FC on her cert, she is eligible to send her info via email.

    Hope this helps.

  10. Hi All,

I've just booked the last 'free' cruise . I've emailed NCL, and they've applied the BoA Final Certs. Question is, do I still need to mail the certs to NCL? The most recent BoA letter, that said to email NCL the info, left me slightly confused as to if I need to mail them or not.

No, if you're cruise is showing Paid in full, there is no need to mail them in. When you emailed the numbers on your certs, that took care of them.
