  1. I was on the Jewel last month and it was very quiet. In fact I can’t remember any conversations at all and I went everyday.
  2. I loved the train. We just did the 3 hour round trip. It worked out for us because we wanted to get some hiking in and we had plenty of time to do two hikes in the area after we got back to Skagway. NCL offered the streetcar tour. I didn’t do it but, considered it in case of rain. Seems it was around $79. Seemed good value if you had free at sea and the $50 off excursions.
  3. I was on that Norwegian Jewel sailing. Hubbard was foggy, cloudy and raining. I didn’t do the excursion but, heard it was great. Glacier Bay was a beautiful sunny day. After Hubbard many people were sick that day due to the swells. We spent most of the day in our room.
  4. Everyone is going to have a different perspective due to finances and priorities. I’m not a seasoned cruiser but am currently on the Jewel in Alaska in an interior room. The cost was very low and I had some discounts. As the person said when I was booking the room it was practically a comp. Our room at the Pacific Rim the night before cost more than the cruise. I have never sailed in an interior but, after sailing in a balcony room for the Panama Canal and literally spending maybe 2 hours on it having a balcony wasn't worth the up charge for me. I was willing to pay an additional $300 and bid that but, that didn't get accepted. I do miss the space the balcony room gives you. But I love the dark of the interior. We sprung for the thermal pass and have enjoyed the views from around the ship. My next two cruises are interiors as well.
  5. It’s $199 for the 7 day Alaska cruise I’m taking in May.
  6. We ate at Omar’s because we wanted seafood. It was excellent. Some friends went to Tipsy Tuna and had a great time but said service was slow. Tipsy Tuna is on the water so that is plus. There are lots of restaurants to chose from and the ferry boat people will give advice.
  7. Yes. I just did it this month. It was $29. We booked it at the marina. And it counted towards the $50 excursion credit. We only had 3 hrs. But someone on the ferry said they left in the morning and spent the day there. We walked around and had an excellent lunch. We didn’t think 3 hrs was enough time.
