Mine used to, not on my last cruise. Because mine didn't come the next day, I had to request it a couple days after disembarkation. Then, I had to wait around two weeks. When I received it, it looked nothing like the "simple" folio one is accustomed to receive while on ship, or those you received the next day in your inbox, w/o asking for it.

What I got the "all you can eat, baby!" version of the folio. Anything and everything that may have been a charge if I didn't have the package was listed there. In the least user-customer friendly but the most accounting-friendly format possible (two or more entries for each transaction, debited, then credited etc.)

I was also charged for complimentary items that I had noticed on my folio while on the ship and had asked about, however believed Princess when I was told "don't worry, they will dissappear from your folio and you will never get charged for them anyway". Should have known better, this one is on me.

Over a month ago, I asked for those charges to be credited back, has not heard anything back yet.

Update. I got the simple, usual version of the folio today. Almost two months after disembarkation! Still no news on the refund though.

This is perfect information - thanks! I could see that the airport was really pretty close to the port so I figured we wouldn’t need to rush. We might just stop and grab a bite somewhere in the airport since we will have been flying all night - but I don’t know, we also will be on west coast time and might not be be hungry until much later. And, as you mentioned, the chances of actually getting from SFO (San Francisco) to FLL on time...well, I’ll just say I’m not betting on it, but we’re at least on a non-stop flight. 😄

Coffee though...that’s going to be a must that morning, at minimum! Red eye isn’t my preferred way of flying, but in this case, it actually makes the most sense. We’ll take our time getting to the cruise terminal, after all, we’ll already be on vacation! Thanks so much for your help! We’ve never been on Princess, and I think it’s been about 10 years since we cruised out of Florida (too long, really).

Porters may not be so engaging, so you'd better ask them if you are OK to drop off your luggage. I managed to drop off ours around 8:30 before.

There are lots of stores, coffee shops, restaurants etc. starting from 15m walk from the cruise port. Einstein bagel, total wine for your wine shopping etc.

We we haven't been luck on the actually boarding time though. They open the waiting area doors around 10 alright, but then you start waiting in the waiting area. You are giving numbers (or was it letters) and being let in in groups etc. etc. In my experience, never before 11:30 & as late as 1:30 is realistic time to be on the ship.

    This was all table games.

I played a little VP but no big winnings there.

Been on other cruises where I won more but this was a first.

    It was in Port Everglades

My experience was also on a cruise disembarked in Port Everglades. Were you asked to fill out a form (not W-2G, but a custom form created by the cruiseline)? This may either be a new thing or something Port Everglades CBP specifically asked the cruise companies to do. Because I wasn't asked to fill out anything last year in LA, where I had also won some money in table games.

  5. After some table game winnings, the Princess casino cashier made me fill out a form once, which included my SSN, address etc. and took a copy of my DL. She made it clear that it was not for tax purposes, but for their internal filing. I didn't end up getting stopped at the customers though.

Its a pending charge right?  It will probably drop off in a week or so, happens all the time.

Its for accounting purposes, I am Elite but the charge for laundry shows up on my folio, drops off the next day.

Unfortunately not pending, it is on my cc, it is realized.

Also just got a mystery charge for 2 Transfers posted to this prestige cruise!

    Check your Travel Summary.

Plus IF this is Prestige we shouldn't be charged in the first place....So I'm trying to get that corrected.....one thing after another.

Thanks for your take.  Glad you had a good experience with yours Sprocket.

I got back from a prestige and I have a charge of $89 for photo package on my cc I have to deal with now. It was supposed to be free w/prestige! I haven't even received my folio yet but fortunately I paid it off on my last day on the ship. That is how I know it can't be anything but the photo package charge that we were told on our visit to the booth that "you will see a charge on your folio but your credit card never be charged for it because your name is on the Prestige list and it is complimentary" Well, should have taken that fella's name and his written statement on the spot:)

Are the cruises sold separately?  If so, then a lot of passengers will be permanently disembarking there, and you would clear entry there, and no problem.

The cruise is sold in both ways.  As two separate cruises and also as one two-leg cruise. So, I will clear entry in SF with bunch of other passengers. No problem there.

Aside from the luggage, it seems like the only problem would be causing the good people of the cruise line some headache they really don't need.

Thank you very much for the thorough response Chief.

Are you asking about permanently disembarking in San Francisco, and not taking the second leg?  Or just getting off to visit the city, and returning for the second leg?

Your first leg, SF-Vancouver-SF, is a closed loop cruise, which the PVSA allows as long as it stops at any foreign port (Vancouver).  The second leg, which I assume includes a port call in Mexico as well as SF-LA-SF (as it wouldn't be offered without a foreign port call), is also a closed loop cruise, so any foreign port call is what is required.  But, CBP would look at the two cruises together (assuming they are on the same ship), but this would also be a closed loop SF-SF (regardless of what ports are in between), and only requires one foreign port call.

The two types of cruises "closed loop" and "open loop (or jaw)" (open loop means you permanently disembark at a different US port from embarkation), are handled completely differently by CBP, the open loop cruise requiring a "distant" foreign port call, while a closed loop only requires a foreign port call (does not need to be "distant").

    1-Lets correct the route: SF-Vancouver-SF-Ensenada-SF

2-Permanently disembarking in SF after Vancouver, WITHOUT informing anyone. (Say the captain is a family friend and I don't want him to know that I am disembarking early. Because I suspect he would give my wife a call, who is not with me on the trip, and let her know that I left, when my wife thinks that I'd still be on the ship another 3-4 days. But actually, I preferred to get off and go golfing at Sedgefield Country Club with my buddies for those days.)

Q1: Would I be violating any US laws by permanently disembarking in SF?

Q2: I see that you are highly knowledgeable on these matters, and generously sharing your knowledge any I appreciate it. While I don't expect anyone to know much about a cruise line's own bylaws (procedures, guidelines, passenger contracts etc.), in your opinion, would I be violating any of the cruiseline's bylaws by permanently disembarking in SF? Would they get mad at me once they found out I was gone and do mean things to me?

This is correct, the PVSA precludes you boarding a foreign flag cruise ship in one US port, and disembarking in another US port,

How about the same port. Can I disembark at the end of the 1st leg of a two-leg cruise, say San Fran-Vancouver-San Fran-LA-San Fran and I get off in San Fran after Vancouver. Would this be a problem?

    Wanted to tell my outcome.

I was able to move ALL those funds from October Meditt cruise, to a CA Coastal cruise

during the same time.  This was done by having a new casino offer that needed to be booked.

When I explained to Princess Casino Rep that we had no intention of doing EU cruise in Oct.,

but wanted to coastal comp cruise instead?  She said,  Oh I can do that for you.

So I lost no $$, and lost No deposits.

Just lucked into speaking with an experienced Casino Rep. and she handled it without prob.

I am in a similar situation and want to explore my options. I may have to cancel an upcoming cruise. I called 1-888-772-6697 and I was told that $200/person non-refundable would be gone. I'd only be credited the port fees + taxes.

So, cancelling entire cruise $200 X 2 = $400 gone. Cancelling guest #2, $200 is gone. Replacing guest #2 is free of charge.

I am planning to book another casino offer too. Is 1-888-772-6697 the number you called that helped you to save you your non-refundables? Did you do that the same time you were booking the second cruise? On one phone call, cancel the October Meditt cruise and book the CA Coastal cruise?

This customer service line is a really pain.Any other tips you may have is appreciated.

then why even play on a cruise ship when the odds are going to be casual players along side you?  For that matter, why does anyone serious about something, food, wine, whisky expect the cruise experience to be the same as a hand picked land experience?

Casual players (or players playing the way I don't approve :))))) are everywhere. I play cuz it is fun.

Sharing my inner thoughts regarding how a hand I played resulted in this forum does in no way mean that such inner thoughts were shared at the table after such hand is played. I'd never want to negatively affect anyone's cruise experience (the vacation they have been longing for), by expressing my disappointment verbally or by eyerolling etc. I am hardly serious about anything but that does not mean I can't think seriously 🙂

So you believe the cards you get are negatively affected by prior cards? If you believe in odds, eventually the positive will balance out the negative. Bad play should make no difference. Short term it can just as easily help.🃏

Hey Rich, if you played BJ at $25 table at Sky, we may have played together. I was the guy at 3rd base, usually tipsy on scotch. I agree with your logic if one's bet amount is steady. If you bet the way I bet, sometimes table minimum, other times 20X of that, then that 20X hand I'd much prefer everyone played by the book. Someone taking my 10 on my double where they should have stayed may even itself out by taking a 5 and leaving me the 10 next hand, but it will be hard for me not to think about that 20X hand double for a while:)

If everyone plays it right, and I lose, of course I am not happy but I don't mind as much. When it get more irritating is that everyone does not play right, then I lose as a result of that.

A loser would never miss the opportunity to blame someone else for his loses, so don't be so generous to give me that opportunity🙂

Wondering out loud if the Prestige benefits outweigh what I'm assuming are more crowds and tougher-to-get-a-seat problems on that Prestige cruise.

I'm thinking I'd want to avoid a gambler event cruise just to have more elbow room...

Casino was busier than usual in the eveninings. Lots of action on craps table. No extra crowd for blackjack though. At least this was my Prestige cruise experience.

  15. Back from a 7-night with Sky. Interior with $250 FP for CBS. Average one hour/night, average $200/hand on BJ. not booking, the offers are getting kinda stupid. Why even bother offering em?

BTW, sky is such a disappointment from almost every aspect but the food quality (not variety).

I am wondering how many days before your cruise you received the email asking which option you wanted...pick up or self parking?  Also, if you chose parking how did that work...I leave on Apr 4th and nobody at Princess seems to have any info on how this works! Thank you in advance :O)

prestigeplayers@princesscruises.com contacted me three weeks before the cruise and I picked airport pickup. Then I was contacted by the local passenger pickup company, very smooth transaction. Forgot my cellphone in the car, had it back in my hands 15mn later. I'd imagine that you'd be reimbursed for your parking expenses by the casino hosts should you choose the parking option. Keep your receipt / quote.

  17. Just as I was looking for things to do in Cozumel, I found this instead.

    Source - Yahoo

"Four warring Mexican drug cartels indiscriminately kill to assert dominance..."

"In the process, Americans — and visitors from around the world — have become collateral damage, seen gruesome violence or "just disappear, wiped off the face of earth," Armes said.

Over the last two weeks, cartel members dismembered rival gang members with machetes in tourist hot spot Cancun; a California woman was killed in the crossfire near a popular Tulum beach; and an abducted New York man was left in a secluded jungle with his eyes taped shut."

  18. I've never requested being tracked for points but since I am offers, I am sure my plau is somewhat  tracked.

Some dealers say "checks play" loudly on some hands, getting the pit boss' attention for bigger hands. But I didn't notice a consistency between the dealers about what constitutes a big hand. At the $50 minimum table, my experience is that it is mostly over $400/hand, but again your dealer may vary.

  19. Looks like the minimum qualifiying offer is Interior with $250 FP, which is what I got as Come back & Play offer. 4 nights cruise, average 30-45mn/night, average $150/hand on BJ.

I am not gonna book that offer, not really worth it. I think Princess wants me to gamble a couple hours every night to give me free balcony.

  20. One thing to note about retreat pool (and the whole area around it) is that it is always windier than the rest of the open areas on the ship. I think this is because how it is situated, completely (and immediately) surrounded by the next deck. So that makes it shape like a bowl and I think this may be the reason for the extra wind in there. I personally don't mind it at all. It really is around 3-4 feet in depth. So when it gets windy, I'd just sit on the bottom of the pool, all body sunk in:)

Does anyone here know whether it is heated or not?
