Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Mine used to, not on my last cruise. Because mine didn't come the next day, I had to request it a couple days after disembarkation. Then, I had to wait around two weeks. When I received it, it looked nothing like the "simple" folio one is accustomed to receive while on ship, or those you received the next day in your inbox, w/o asking for it. What I got the "all you can eat, baby!" version of the folio. Anything and everything that may have been a charge if I didn't have the package was listed there. In the least user-customer friendly but the most accounting-friendly format possible (two or more entries for each transaction, debited, then credited etc.) I was also charged for complimentary items that I had noticed on my folio while on the ship and had asked about, however believed Princess when I was told "don't worry, they will dissappear from your folio and you will never get charged for them anyway". Should have known better, this one is on me. Over a month ago, I asked for those charges to be credited back, has not heard anything back yet.
  2. Porters may not be so engaging, so you'd better ask them if you are OK to drop off your luggage. I managed to drop off ours around 8:30 before. There are lots of stores, coffee shops, restaurants etc. starting from 15m walk from the cruise port. Einstein bagel, total wine for your wine shopping etc. We we haven't been luck on the actually boarding time though. They open the waiting area doors around 10 alright, but then you start waiting in the waiting area. You are giving numbers (or was it letters) and being let in in groups etc. etc. In my experience, never before 11:30 & as late as 1:30 is realistic time to be on the ship.
  3. My experience was also on a cruise disembarked in Port Everglades. Were you asked to fill out a form (not W-2G, but a custom form created by the cruiseline)? This may either be a new thing or something Port Everglades CBP specifically asked the cruise companies to do. Because I wasn't asked to fill out anything last year in LA, where I had also won some money in table games.
  4. $1,200 threshold is for slot machines only, does not apply to table games. That is why I was surprised to be asked to fill out a form.
  5. After some table game winnings, the Princess casino cashier made me fill out a form once, which included my SSN, address etc. and took a copy of my DL. She made it clear that it was not for tax purposes, but for their internal filing. I didn't end up getting stopped at the customers though.
  6. Unfortunately not pending, it is on my cc, it is realized.
  7. I got back from a prestige and I have a charge of $89 for photo package on my cc I have to deal with now. It was supposed to be free w/prestige! I haven't even received my folio yet but fortunately I paid it off on my last day on the ship. That is how I know it can't be anything but the photo package charge that we were told on our visit to the booth that "you will see a charge on your folio but your credit card never be charged for it because your name is on the Prestige list and it is complimentary" Well, should have taken that fella's name and his written statement on the spot:)
  8. The cruise is sold in both ways. As two separate cruises and also as one two-leg cruise. So, I will clear entry in SF with bunch of other passengers. No problem there. Aside from the luggage, it seems like the only problem would be causing the good people of the cruise line some headache they really don't need. Thank you very much for the thorough response Chief.
  9. 1-Lets correct the route: SF-Vancouver-SF-Ensenada-SF 2-Permanently disembarking in SF after Vancouver, WITHOUT informing anyone. (Say the captain is a family friend and I don't want him to know that I am disembarking early. Because I suspect he would give my wife a call, who is not with me on the trip, and let her know that I left, when my wife thinks that I'd still be on the ship another 3-4 days. But actually, I preferred to get off and go golfing at Sedgefield Country Club with my buddies for those days.) Q1: Would I be violating any US laws by permanently disembarking in SF? Q2: I see that you are highly knowledgeable on these matters, and generously sharing your knowledge any I appreciate it. While I don't expect anyone to know much about a cruise line's own bylaws (procedures, guidelines, passenger contracts etc.), in your opinion, would I be violating any of the cruiseline's bylaws by permanently disembarking in SF? Would they get mad at me once they found out I was gone and do mean things to me?
  10. How about the same port. Can I disembark at the end of the 1st leg of a two-leg cruise, say San Fran-Vancouver-San Fran-LA-San Fran and I get off in San Fran after Vancouver. Would this be a problem?
  11. I am in a similar situation and want to explore my options. I may have to cancel an upcoming cruise. I called 1-888-772-6697 and I was told that $200/person non-refundable would be gone. I'd only be credited the port fees + taxes. So, cancelling entire cruise $200 X 2 = $400 gone. Cancelling guest #2, $200 is gone. Replacing guest #2 is free of charge. I am planning to book another casino offer too. Is 1-888-772-6697 the number you called that helped you to save you your non-refundables? Did you do that the same time you were booking the second cruise? On one phone call, cancel the October Meditt cruise and book the CA Coastal cruise? This customer service line is a really pain.Any other tips you may have is appreciated.
  12. Casual players (or players playing the way I don't approve :))))) are everywhere. I play cuz it is fun. Sharing my inner thoughts regarding how a hand I played resulted in this forum does in no way mean that such inner thoughts were shared at the table after such hand is played. I'd never want to negatively affect anyone's cruise experience (the vacation they have been longing for), by expressing my disappointment verbally or by eyerolling etc. I am hardly serious about anything but that does not mean I can't think seriously 🙂
  13. Hey Rich, if you played BJ at $25 table at Sky, we may have played together. I was the guy at 3rd base, usually tipsy on scotch. I agree with your logic if one's bet amount is steady. If you bet the way I bet, sometimes table minimum, other times 20X of that, then that 20X hand I'd much prefer everyone played by the book. Someone taking my 10 on my double where they should have stayed may even itself out by taking a 5 and leaving me the 10 next hand, but it will be hard for me not to think about that 20X hand double for a while:) If everyone plays it right, and I lose, of course I am not happy but I don't mind as much. When it get more irritating is that everyone does not play right, then I lose as a result of that. A loser would never miss the opportunity to blame someone else for his loses, so don't be so generous to give me that opportunity🙂
  14. Casino was busier than usual in the eveninings. Lots of action on craps table. No extra crowd for blackjack though. At least this was my Prestige cruise experience.
  15. Back from a 7-night with Sky. Interior with $250 FP for CBS. Average one hour/night, average $200/hand on BJ. not booking, the offers are getting kinda stupid. Why even bother offering em? BTW, sky is such a disappointment from almost every aspect but the food quality (not variety).
