  1. Head over to South Beach and spend the day there. Plenty of restaurants and bars in that area. If you're interested in having seafood Uber over to Garcias on the New River. Fish is delivered right to their dock behind the restaurant. If you're interested in Cuban food head down to Calle Ocho and stop at either Versailles or La Caretta. Versailles is the most popular Cuban restaurant in the entire country.

  2. All rental car companies provide free shuttle service from there facilities in Cape Canaveral over to Port Canaveral. Most rental car companies are very busy on cruise turnaround days. When you return your rental vehicle there you either wait for the free shuttle bus or you can Uber, Lyft or cab over to the port. I normally drop off my family and luggage at the port first and then return the vehicle by myself. The process usually takes around and hour. I repeat the process if I'm renting a vehicle at the conclusion of my cruise. We gather our luggage and walk over to the shuttle pick up area. If the shuttles are busy we hail either a cab, Uber or Lyft to get us over to the rental car facility in Cape Canaveral.

  3. My family's passport applications were received in Philadelphia on January 31st. They were sent as regular service. I received notification on February 28th that they were completed and being sent back to me. They were sent from the Portsmouth New Hampshire facility and arrived on March 2nd.

  4. As for Fort Lauderdale check if Louie Bossi's on Las Olas Blvd has an Easter Brunch. Busy, noisy fun place with excellent food. One of my South Florida favorites, especially for Italian food.

  5. I'm unaware of any reserved parking at the Port of Miami. I know personally that you can park at any garage and I always suggest you park after 10:00AM. After 10:00AM most of the passengers from last week's sailings have left the garage and are on there way home. I normally unload luggage and my family directly in front of the terminal first and then drive over to the parking garage. Secure the vehicle and walk back over to the terminal to meet up with my family.

  6. All shuttle service from FLL to Port Everglades was discontinued approximately five plus years ago. A cab from FLL is twenty dollars plus tip. Some off site locations near FLL provide shuttle service to Port Everglades. I personally know that Alamo has free shuttle service from there Eller Drive location over to Port Everglades.

  7. Head over to Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale and have dinner in one of the restaurants. My favorite is Louie Bossi's Italian Restaurant. Great food, great drinks and a great place to people watch. Very busy and very noisy but so worth it. Great wine selection too. Reservations are a must, especially on weekends. I love the place. Also on the same block is Tuscan Grill, Big City Tavern, Rocco's Tacos and American Social. A fifteen minute drive from Dania Beach.

  8. Take a cab or Uber to Total Wine which is located in Fort Lauderdale in the Harbor Shops Shopping Center. Its a short ten minute ride. If you need suntan lotion, snacks, etc there's a Publix Supermarket in the same shopping center. If you call in an order to Total Wine it will be waiting for you when you arrive.

  9. My family of three flew to Singapore for a fifteen night Holland America cruise to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam in December 2019 and an eight night NCL sailing to Thailand and Malaysia in December 2020. We flew from JFK on Singapore Airlines to Frankfurt Germany. That flight was seven hours with a three hour stay in Frankfurt. The following Singapore Airlines flight from Frankfurt to Singapore took twelve hours. Thank God we were fed four times on two long flights.

  10. We normally return the rental vehicle at the Fort Lauderdale Rental Car Center and then walk downstairs to the Arrivals Area where the taxi stand is. Hop in the cab with our luggage for the short fifteen minute ride over to the terminal. Cost is usually around twenty dollars plus tip. Normally there is plenty of cabs available.
