We have reservations for almost every other night. Will we be able to walk into any specialty restaurant pretty much any time we want on the first night? I read previously that they're empty the first night.

Tried to buy the soda package online and it's telling me everyone in cabin must buy also. Will I have the same issue on board?
-
They should have made the changes BEFORE they opened up the reservations. Very poor planning. I hope this isn't an indication of what we're in store for.

I can't imagine why they would need to cancel a show or shows so far out. Have a great cruise.

Booked all our specialties and entertainment for our August 3 BA cruise. Got an email yesterday from NCL that our Thursday night ROA show had been "rescheduled" and that we no longer had reservations. Went online to make new ones and of course the system wouldn't allow it as we were still showing reserved for Thurs. night.
Was able to get an NCL rep to make the new reservations but still a hassle and now we have conflicts. Have sailed Oasis/Allure three times and never had any issues like this. The rep told me they were now only showing ROA on Tuesday and no other day. Seems strange they would cancel all other showings two months out. On a ship with over 4,000 people, I imagine there will be many unhappy campers, as this is one of NCL's signature shows.

How long is the show and where is the best seating?

I had an aft balcony on Breakaway in March. The infamous "Gambee Balcony", actually (named after his awesome review of the Breakaway).
I wasn't sure where I wanted to do sailaway, but wound up doing it on my balcony. SO glad I did. As it turned out, several other Cruise Critic members were in balconies above, below and beside me... we were chatting, having a great time. And as a lover of the wake, there's nothing like it!

We'll be on that balcony 8/3.

You will need a cab but I would go to Bayway Wine and Liquor on Bayway Ave. in Elizabeth. If you're staying at one of airport hotels on 1&9 it's about a 10 minute ride with no traffic. Definitely not walkable based on area and distance. They have a great wine selection and good prices.

After witnessing several security/unruly passenger interactions on several different lines it appears that the approach is always to de-escalte the encounter as much as possible, even if the passenger is clearly in the wrong. They should have drained the pool on him.
I was struck by the classlessness of that whole group. I (especially my wife and kids) certainly wouldn't want to have been anywhere near those punks, the females included.

Great review. We thought Come Fly With Me was better than Blue Planet.

You should definitely book shows in advance.

What's "CSM" ?

If you want seafood we love Kelly's Landing. It's a five minute walk from ES.
-
You could stay at the Short Hills Hilton. It's a 20 minute ride from airport. Beautiful hotel across street from nicest mall in NJ.

We've sailed Allure twice and Oasis once. I would stick with 7. Perfect location for Central Park, Boardwalk and Promenade.

We have sailed Allure twice and Oasis once. We usually eat 3-4 times in specialties and the rest in MDR (always my time). We have loved all cruises but never expect great food in MDR, just average to above average. We still enjoy MDR because we like the atmosphere and have fun with our wait staff.

Why do they make all these show changes?

Bay Way is about 10 minutes from Jersey Gardens and has a huge selection with good prices if you're looking for wine.

Great thanks.

How was the noise from Spice H20?

Can anyone tell me which B1 Afts on decks 11 and 12 have bed near balcony? Thanks.

Labadee is self contained. The area is large but you cannot (and wouldn't want to) go outside the perimeter. In addition to great beaches there are activities such as a waverunner tour, zip line, snorkeling, etc. Check the shore excursions to see what interests you. It's a great day.

The walk is very short but drinks are better and cheaper at Dr. Cave.

We also enjoyed Dr. Cave and the restaurant very much.
