Hubby has a lung disease, can no longer walk very much distance at all. Planning to reserve him a scooter today. We have had conflicting responses from Regent, so I asking former guests…is there a specific area for parking and charging at night . thank you, thank you, thank you!

Because we have not received our passports, we cannot do anything regarding flights. That was the reply I received from Regent this morning.

I am afraid I am one of the snookered. I had thought our travel arrangements would be as superior as the steerage because of the cost. Now I am reading and hearing nightmarish stories that are making me dread the trip. This is a “bucket list” journey for my husband who has been diagnosed with a fatal medical condition. We booked late and have not received our passports yet, so we can’t deviate from our flights , lest we lose all transfers and pre-cruise hotel.. Our disembarkation in Anchorage is the scariest, with 12 -14 hour flights from there to DFW after getting up at dawn to catch shuttle from Seward to Anchorage. I can handle the schedule, but my husband will be spent.

We can’t do deviation because we do not have passports. Regent has said we would have to cancel our air part of the package and book our own flights, losing all our transfers and pre-cruise hotel for night before. We were thinking of a morning flight from DFW to VCR, then get on cruise in the afternoon. What is the same day pitfalls? Would travel insurance cover it?

Unfortunately we disembark in Anchorage, but it looks like that getting a hotel tacked onto the trip is the only solution for trip home.

We are taking a bucket list trip at end of June on the Explorer. I decided to go all in the airfare package, because I liked the idea of it being all-inclusive and everything arranged by cruise line. I naively looked only at the departure to Vancouver (from DFW) with overnight stay and leaving on cruise the next day. Today I looked at Anchorage return flights back home after the early 2 hour bus trip from Seward and I was shocked! They seem like most are either very early or late evening, which would mean we would be in the Anchorage Airport all day , and then possibly 9-12 HOURS FLYING to get home? Then another 2 hours to get from airport to home? My husband is not in best of health with blood clots in his leg, and this trip home sounds like a nightmare he might not survive. Can anyone enlighten me on the topic?
