We got here 90 minutes ago. Made it all the way through check in and customs an hour ago. They have about 1000 of us sitting in horribly uncomfortable chairs waiting to board. No one has boarded yet.
Totally unprofessional.

Is lunch available on day 1? I thought we had to get lunch before boarding.

You can buy JUST the WiFi for one device at $25/per day.
Thank you!

You could spring for Princess Plus. That gives you one always-on device, covers your daily gratuity, gets you room service and delivery to where you are seated with no service charge, and of course, beverages up to $15 in cost. Plus is a very strong offer from Princess, considering the a la carte pricing for a lot of the stuff it includes.
Except that I would have no intention of using any of those services other than WiFi. And I only need WiFi about 15-30 minutes a day on one device.

Are you referring to the plus package that includes WiFi, tips and drinks ? That is quite a deal in our experience
Neither of us drinks at all. We have already prepaid the tips.

Is there any path to getting WiFi other than the exorbitant $60 per day per person that Princess is quoting? We will be on the Grand NB in July.

Breakfast and lunch are walk up no reservations on most ships service ends at 9. The latest reservation I have seen is 8:40
OK. If my excursion ends are 8:30 & I get back on board at about 8:45 is there another way to get dinner? (Grand Princess)
-
I have made all dinner reservations except one. The latest available reservation is 8:20 PM. Our excursion does not return to the ship until 8:30 so we were looking for a 9PM dinner. Ideas?
Also, are breakfast and lunch just walkup service?

With the new policy, you don't need to make reservations. If you don't choose traditional fixed dining and you don't make reservations, there will be one MDR available for walk-in only. This should provide better service to those without reservations than the current system.
I am sailing July 3, I think that is current policy still.

Why are people having to make reservations in order to have a meal? Why can't people just go to the buffet or MDR and get seated?

It should be listed in the summary for the land portion - not the cruise portion. It normally had (B), (L), and/or (D) at the end of the listing for each day. Please relook at your summary and see if these are listed.
It IS listed for the Land portion. That part was clear. I was speaking only of the on ship portion. The way they are pushing all of the premium dining options almost made it seem like you had to choose one of those or starve.

It's all listed in your Travel Summary. Easy to see what you have if you look there.
Actually it is NOT listed at all. That is why I had the question.

Escorted tours will usually include at least two meals per day depending upon the day's activities, and other days will include three.
Yes. That is what our Itinerary indicates. In addition, some of the excursions include lunch.

You mentioned a cruisetour which has both a cruise and a tour component. The answer above is correct for the cruise part. For the tour part, most tours do not include meals although the last I knew a meal package is included. Some of the Princess upper-end tours (the name they use for them escapes me at the moment) do include meals.
MDR = Main Dining Room (on most ships, there are multiple main dining rooms but they all serve the same menu - think of them as different sections of the same dining room).
Thanks! I was clear about the land portion. MDR = Main Dining Room (Doh!)

Yes both MDR meals breakfast, dinner and lunch on sea days are included. Also buffet and lido deck pizza and grill are also included. Oh and International Cafe. You will not starve
Thanks. I ASSUMED as much but wanted to verify. (What does MDR stand for?)

So I am very confused. I have not cruised in about 12 years (2012). I have a Princess Cruisetour to Alaska booked. Are meals still included in the booking? I know you can pay extra for Premium dining but are basic no frills meal still included in the basic booking?
