I have previously carried on 12-18 cans of Diet Coke, and would continue to do so if I had an opportunity to buy a 12 pack after my flight.  I noticed Princess now offers to deliver cans of soda or  bottled water to your cabin for a little under $12, certainly much more expensive than the grocery store but less than purchasing individually at the bar.

Is that $12 for a case of 12?  Is that something you saw on the ship or read online?  Thanks.

Yes the Hotel Riu Plaza has safes in the room, don't think they have a guest laundry. It is also about the last hotel I'd choose at Fisherman's Wharf, there are a dozen ones better.

Also, unless you really want to irritate locals in San Francisco, don't use "San Fran". That irritates them to no end, along with "Frisco" and "Cali".

What are a few of the "dozen better ones" at Fisherman's Wharf?

I know with SF (boarding ruby 16th april) we had to do a lateral flow test before boarding which we had to show when in the terminal building. We went to a place called OnPoint covid testing on Folsom Street. We had to take a test before getting to the US, but as we had planned to go to go sight seeing for 3 days in SF, we knew we had to do another one before boarding the ship, as the one in the UK would have expired at that point.

Testing was straight forward and they sent the details via email, which was a case of logging in and you could take a screen shot from your phone, or we went to the hotel and we did it on their computer and printer so we had a hard copy.

OK I'm going to hijack this excellent thread and ask where you stayed and how you liked it.  We're staying three nights pre-cruise in Sept.

  4. We booked a B2B on Ruby boarding Oct 1 a couple of months ago.  OM only let me book individual days for a private table and a few days only had very late days.  So I did that.  Also only one DR was available.  I've been checking every few days and today 2 DRs were available and it let me book "The same time each day".   Didn't it used to say same time and same table or am I dreaming that?

You absolutely cannot beat Harv & Marv Whale Watching.  They are the best by far.  Cheaper than Princess and you'll be on a small boat with only a few folks instead of a barge jammed to the railings with people. Also it's a local biz and that's a plus.

Harv and Marv no longer own "Harv and Marv" however the last time I went it was still the same.  Also their daughter has her own whale watching business:

It's like banging your head against the wall if Princess doesn't load all the DR's to MC App.  Maybe they aren't doing that as they have come to realize what a complete disaster the DMW booking process is.

We booked a B2B for this October.  Only 1 on the 3 DR's is listed and I had to book each night individually as our desired time of 5:40 for a private table was not available for 2 or the 22 nights.   And I'm not sure that is correct since ALL the other nights had ALL the time slots available before 6:40 and the 2 nights had NOTHING available before 6:40 (except shared).

  7. I emailed them my most recent brokerage statement and info for B2B cruises in October yesterday.  I just checked and the shareholder OBC has already been credited.   Now if I could only get the Medallion app to make dinner reservations.  But that's another thread.

Primarily due to the fact that the MC App is charging the full cost and then the guest is getting the 50% off as Refundable OBC, Princess is offering the pre-cruise price if purchase it on-board on DAY 1.  Then the price goes up.  When they do implement the MC App feature so that it recognizes CC Status and applies the discount for pre-purchase, they may not offer the lower price on Day 1.  The enhancement was either an oversight or delayed due to other MC App priorities but is something being worked on.  Seems pretty simple to me to do, so IDK what the hold-up is.

    If (STATUS = "Elite" or STATUS = "Platinum") THEN PRICE = (PRICE * .5);

    Done  🙂

  9. We have 2 long cruises (for us) booked in 2022.  The first's final payment is due in January and sails in May.  The second's final payment is due in May right before the first one sails.

We're trying to decide whether to go ahead and pay for the first cruise.    If we do and it's "Covid cancelled" we'd like to use the FCC to help pay for the second cruise.

The first is a 35 day Transatlantic/Norway cruise that leaves in May.  The other is a 61 day B2B2B2B Transpacific/Australia/New Zealand cruise that leaves in September.  The plan was to only do one in the hopes that one actually sails.

So the question is, in the past, how long has it taken a FCC to be credited to your Princess account.

I realize that anything done in the past could change in the future but I'm just trying to get an idea of how fast things worked in the past.

    Thanks in advance.
