  1. Since we are closest to NYC for cruising, the bulk of our cruises have sailed from NYC. The Venezia, while very pretty, is a one and done for us. Pool deck area is too small to have enough loungers available and the deck above the pool area is too enclosed to allow for air to circulate. If it's a hot sunny and humid day in the Caribbean, it's too hot to sit up there. The buffet area is too tight and the long lines are frustrating. If a different ship is returned to NY, we will be back and sailing with Carnival again.
  2. The ones who are going to be unhappy about the steakhouse changes are very likely going to be the ones paying for their meals. For those who are on comped steakhouse meals, how can they complain about these changes? It's difficult to be the ones complaining when you are a guest of the casino. Again, it's the paying cruisers who may feel like their loyalty to Carnival isn't as highly valued. Is it really worth it to Carnival to make these changes and risk bad feelings? I for one will find it hard to justify these steakhouse changes and still pay the same price. As another poster stated, the waste that should be evaluated is what gets tossed in the buffet.
  3. I'd rather save my money and go to a nice steakhouse at home than pay for this watered-down menu. I tolerated the removal of the wasabi mashed potatoes, I'm not going to keep accepting additional steakhouse menu deletions.
  4. "I could get a free offer from any cruise line, but stay with Carnival because I also get the VIFP perks. If the perks are gone with the offers, there is no reason to not try the other lines free offers" This is exactly what I've been saying! So the Carnival cruisers who pay out of pocket, perhaps take a limited number of cruises depending on what they can afford, may take years to achieve Platinum or Diamond status, may finally achieve the higher status due to their loyalty to Carnival and see that free casino cruisers have had those higher loyalty levels handed to them and have been enjoying those perks for years, should feel that Carnival appreciates them? As stated above, remove the perks given away for free and the casino cruisers may try other cruise lines. Give the free casino cruisers their own loyalty program and make every cruiser feel appreciated!!
  5. So Carnival - how about leveling the playing field? Cruisers sailing on free offers do not have the free nights count toward the loyalty level. The rest of us paying cruisers have the paid nights count toward loyalty levels. Seems fair to me.
  6. Request for robes has always been honored, including last week!
  7. " The casino has their own loyalty program and players on casino rates shouldn't be allowed to double dip and collect from both programs. The majority of Carnival cruisers will never get to collect what token bribes are offered and any improvements to upper levels is simply adding insult to injury. Better to just do away with the program than to let the minority of cruisers on free cruises dominate it. There is no reason to have a program." BlerkOne - this is EXACTLY how those of us who pay out of pocket for our balcony and suite cabins feel!!! I do not book Pack and Go rates - we have to plan ahead, fly to the port and pay for the hotel night before sailing. Sailing for us is an INVESTMENT. Sure wish Carnival would recognize the pay-out-of-pocket guests vs. the "free" casino guests. Yes, as it has been said SO many times, the casino cruisers pay the most, et. etc. But this is NOT how the paying cruisers feel when they see all the casino rewards issued. Even at diamond level, we get a very small percentage of perks that don't come close to what casino cruisers are offered. With 2 different loyalty programs, non-casino cruisers may start to feel that their "loyalty" is appreciated. Would be nice to feel that Carnival feels we are worth it.
  8. I'm almost dreading to hear what the changes will be to the updated loyalty program. I am not offered any casino offers. We have reached diamond level by paying for each and every cruise, balconies or suites only. We also pay for our own drinks, specialty restaurant meals, etc. We have made our choices willingly and appreciate the perks offered to us. We have talked to fellow cruisers who are booked on many free casino offers per year, some averaging 15 free cruises yearly. To hear that there may be higher loyalty levels to be achieved and knowing the guests who have paid a small percentage of what I have spent will soon be in those higher levels, while it might take me many years to reach the same level, is discouraging to say the least. I've read ALL the posts stating the casino cruisers are the ones bringing in the highest revenue to Carnival. Maybe it's time for paying guests to have their own loyalty program different from the casino cruisers who not only cruise for free, but are offered gifts, drinks, $$, specialty restaurant meals, transportation to the port, etc. etc. I'm in the same loyalty level as casino cruisers who tell me that it DOESN'T pay for them NOT to cruise, and I'm choosing the few cruises yearly that we can afford. Maybe it really is time to start booking with other cruise lines not owned by Carnival.
  9. Carnival is well aware of how much Carnival cruisers are committed to our causes!!!!!! Could be time to start a petition to bring back bacon and mushrooms!!! Who's with me??
  10. I love how Carnival regulars are passionate about what they LOVE about Carnival!!!! So how about it, Carnival??? Why not put mushroom omelets back on the breakfast menu?? As you can see, there will be a lot of happy, happy cruisers!!!!!
  11. DH and I thought we were the only ones sorely missing our favorite Carnival omelets!!!!!! We always looked forward to our mushroom or bacon omelets. It may seem like a little thing to the "beards", but for those of us cruisers who look forward to certain cruise foods, this is pretty big for us. We are now resorting to scrambled eggs, which we can get anywhere, anytime. Breakfast has become a sad disappointment. Please don't criticize how we feel - breakfast, especially in the dining room, used to be a highlight for us. Sometimes we don't think it's worth it. Is this what the beards was hoping for?? (Really Carnival???? Is removing mushrooms and bacon worth this much to you??????)
  12. Ugh. That's a steep drop for me! There's no way I can step up to get out of the water with a 2.5-3 ft height. Guess I have to come up with other plans. Thanks so much for the feedback!!!
  13. I've been reading about the steep drop when entering the water at Mahogany Bay. As a cruiser with crummy knees, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me just how steep this drop is? People have mentioned having trouble getting out of the water. I would like to avoid becoming one of those people who might need to be rescued! Thanks!!!!!
