  1. Oceania actually told me I have to get it from my TA. 🤦‍♀️ So I’m just waiting for her to get back to me. Thanks!
  2. Thanks, I don’t have this… but I think my TA is still learning about the intricacies of SM. The shorex link she sent me to browse through was from a 3rd-party they typically recommend, not the cruise line. I’ll ask if she has one from Oceania that she can send.
  3. Thanks, It’s all confusing to me… When I go to my account at the website, under beverage packages it says credit CAN be used for beverage packages. Even though I don’t drink, I clicked on it out of curiosity just to see how much they charge. I think what’s there right now is actually left over from pre-SM though… Within that section was also an option to prepay tips. But since I already have about 20% of mine covered I didn’t want to prepay the full amount, which is what it appeared would happen. Also, since this is my first time on Oceania, I haven’t been added to OClub yet. At this point, I’ll just wait until the end of the cruise to pay the tips. The unused credit is not much, as long as none of the excursions are canceled.
  4. Yay! I finally found someone who has experience with SM! Do you happen to know how Oceania deals with remaining excursion credit if you don’t use it up? I can’t find anything at their web site or in the reams of paperwork I received. And if it’s been answered here somewhere I haven’t found the magical combination of search terms that would pull it up. I have a cruise in April and have booked something in nearly every port with enough to get the SM discount and more… but still haven’t used up my total credits. I don’t drink at all and tried to get the least active excursions I could find due to my age and arthritis. I probably will be worn out if I actually go on all of my booked excursions but since it’s “included” and I’m paying extra to begin with (Solo charges because I want a real balcony) I feel almost forced to use what I can. Tips are covered through my agent for one portion of the trip, but I’m wondering if unused excursion credits will be available to pick up the rest, and/or other onboard charges. Thanks for any enlightenment you can provide.
  5. You are correct that Social Security reporting is only for a long-term absence. My point is that the 30-day reporting requirement is not for Social Security at all. SSI is supplemental income based on disability and low income status, and when either of those changes they need to re-evaluate the recipient’s status to make sure the person still qualifies.
  6. I don’t think I would, if it was the only reason for buying wifi. Some CPAP machines use cellular to connect, others use wifi and go through your other devices. If the cruise wifi only connects one device, it might only let you connect your phone. Either way, I believe data will be stored until you get home. See what your provider says. Happy travels!
  7. Bluetooth only connects to your phone or other nearby device, although mine never appears in my mobile app even though Bluetooth is on and connected 🤷🏼‍♀️ In order for the machine to send it to your provider, you need WiFi or cellular. If yours is talking to your mobile app, you can report it the old fashioned way, write it down and send a message to your provider with the info. But if you check with your provider first, they will likely tell you they can wait until you return… unless your situation is such that it needs close monitoring.
  8. Regular social security stops after 6 consecutive months out of country. https://www.ssa.gov/international/index.html SSI (supplemental security income, which is a completely different thing and is NOT based on what you paid into SS) stops after 1 month of absence from the US. https://www.ssa.gov/ssi/reporting/changes
