I don’t know about having your own wheelchair. I’ve seen people with their own wheelchair but didn’t pay much attention to who was pushing it. I ‘think’ I’ve seen family members pushing the wheelchair, as well as port and Princess staff. Just go to the Accessible Area by the door to get into the building. There are only 2 lines into the building. Once inside there is 1 elevator to take you up to security. After you pass through security, there are people to direct you to the proper line to check in.
My hubby doesn’t need a wheelchair onboard, his rollator still works well for him. But the incline on the ramp is just too much for him.

There are some chairs by the entrance door for people needing wheelchair assistance. Just sit there and you will be helped. They take you through security and check in desk. Once you’re done checking in, they take you to a sitting area where a Princess worker will take you on the ship. There are chairs there too. (You will need to transfer to a ship wheelchair). We always give a tip to the people pushing my hubby in the wheelchair.

Were you planning on buying FCDs for your kids? Since they haven’t sailed on Princess before, they wouldn’t have a Captain’s Circle number. I don’t think you can purchase them without having that number. Sorry if I misunderstood.

Hubby tested positive on day 5 on our 15 day cruise, which we’re still currently on. (Royal Princess, 3/12-27). We wore masks everywhere, except while eating. Hubby didn’t wear it one time in the elevator. I was always listening out for coughing, sneezing, sniffling when out in public. We’re both vaccinated and triple boosted.
The first day he had symptoms (fever, sore throat, stuff/runny nose) we went to medical to be tested. (I forgot to pack tests…as well as my phone, he forgot a hose for his cpap. These are things we never forget lol) We are isolated in our room. Three days after we began isolation I started with the same symptoms and tested positive. Not a big surprise to me. He’s officially out of isolation, I’m a few days behind. Hoping I get out tomorrow and can have a few days to move about the ship.
Royal Princess has treated us very well. Medical calls at least once a day, Guest Services calls everyday to see if we need anything, Room Service has been excellent too. They even sent a special team to clean our room! We can order off the Main Dining Room/ Specialty DR menus and even the bars at no charge. We are eating better than we would have at home. We will each get FCCs for our days in isolation. I’ll check at Guest Services about getting all the paperwork (medical, FCCs) tomorrow when (hopefully) I get out of isolation.

We usually do the main dining room. Hubby loves the salmon and I love the beef medallions. We have plenty of time to go to Alfredo’s for lunch or dinner during the cruise. You really can’t go wrong with either place for lunch.

Which ship? Some ships don’t have indoor pools.

I used it on my January 6, 2023 cruise in the casino and shops. We didn’t take any shore excursions.

My steward had no problem switching our mini bar to 2 coffee packages. This was on January 6, 2023.

I got the low fares too. My hubby and a friend showed higher prices. I was going to send it to my friend until I read the small print. It says it’s non-transferable.

My daughter, her hubby, and his little sister had the queen bed and upper bed on a 10 day cruise. They split the queen bed up after the second night and were much happier with that setup. Much roomier and less awkward. Have your son try it with the queen bed. It may work for him.

When I first get on the app my photo shows in the upper left. The middle shows how many days until my next cruise, then my arrival status, then the Ocean Ready Profile which has the personal information and documents tab. Maybe it’s different in Australia? Is there an arrow in the upper left on your personal information and documents page? If so, hit that so you go back to the main page. Hope this helps.

Tap your photo in the upper left. It should bring up your other cruises. Tap the one you want. I think the app defaults to the closest cruise.

I’m 5’ 3” and stood on the bathroom step to put a piece of duct tape over the sensor in the closet area. That light is bright! I took it off in the every morning. It wasn’t a big deal. You can cover the sensors on the nightstands with tape or shove a pool towel in front of them.

I just got off my first solo cruise, Ruby Princess, January 6-16. My hubby decided he didn’t want to go to Mexico again so a friend was going instead. Nine days before the cruise she attended an 80th birthday celebration, even after I suggested she be extra cautious. Everyone at the party was vaccinated and boostered, but not wearing masks. Birthday boy hugged everyone, felt fine, just a little sniffle. The next day the birthday boy and another guest tested positive for Covid. My friend and her hubby tested negative twice. But she couldn’t truthfully answer the question about “being exposed within the last 14 days to someone who tested positive” on the health questionnaire you fill out 24 hours before you board. Sure, she could have lied, but that isn’t the right thing to do. By the way, she and her hubby never got Covid.
I decided I was still going but it was also a little scary for me. I had an absolutely wonderful time! I did share a table in the dining room several times, but I didn’t eat there most of the time. You have to decide for yourself what your comfort level is. I ate where I wanted, when I wanted. I even tried room service for the first time in 11 cruises. I went swimming, went to shows, listened to music, played games, read books, and people watched. I could do anything I wanted to do. Even though I didn’t have my cruise buddy with me, cruisers are usually a friendly bunch and like to talk to other cruisers. I never felt alone or left out. I just happened to be on a cruise by myself. I now know that I will have no problem going solo if the opportunity comes along again. Frankly, I’m looking forward to it lol. It was quite refreshing being on my own.

Thank you Beth Y. That’s too bad, it makes it so convenient when it’s next to the bed. Not a big deal, I’ll make sure we bring a charger with extra USB ports for our iPads and phones.

We’ve stayed in an ocean view room with two college-age kids. It really wasn’t a problem. The only rule I had was that they couldn’t sleep in until noon (or later) lol. They needed to be out by 10am so the room steward could clean. Everyone did their own thing during the day so usually no one was in the room except to shower or get dressed for dinner. Everyone had space and was expected to keep their stuff put away. Our room was never a cluttered mess. Just let everyone know what is expected of them before you go.

I’ve used string (or strong ribbon) on the shoe holder, then put the string over the bathroom door and attached it to the hook on the inside of the door. I’ve also used strong magnets and attached it to the wall, usually behind the cabin door.

We requested an extra chair on the Grand (12/3/19) from Steward and received a barrel chair within 2 minutes. Hubby needs a chair with arms or high sides (bad back, neck, hips, and knees). It worked out great for him.
