  1. Thank you all for the advice.  I will start checking  as of today. My grandchild is well behaved, but until she is a little older, I try to get one for them.  As we are older, they usually go with us. When they are Platinum ( hope we make it!)  , my worry about that is over!

  2. We  are going on an Alaskan Cruise Next June, God Willing. I was looking tonight for a Faster  To the Fun to buy for My daughter and her Family.  The board said  Sold Out.   Is that normal?  Do they put them on sale later?  Are  they all already  gone?   It is not the end of the world, but I hope it opens again.   Thanks for any information .

  3. We  are going  on our first  Alaskan cruise  Next  June.  We have sailed on the Miracle and the Legend.  I know they are  the same class of ship.  The photos of the Legend after being in dry dock are lovely. Has the Spirit had the same?          Second Week in June. One week round trip from Seattle.. What would  you pack? Where would you stay at the airport if you flew in a day early?    Thank you in advance.  Most of what I know about cruising I learned  from this board.  It is a true treasure.

  4. we were on the Elation this past March. It was also Spring Break for Florida.  We had a great time.  People were mostly from the south, very nice.   Trivia was  good. Shows were good.  It is not brand new, but then  it does not have 5,000  +  people on it.

  5. I really liked Carnival's 'Class status Free'  Policy.  Have areas set aside for those who pay more is putting in a class system. That  said,  if  it   draws more passengers away  from congested  Areas, that is good. We were on the Elation during spring break. Shows were full every night. We had to get there early to get a seat. I enjoyed them all. We were with a family  group, and even the kids enjoyed them. Hope they don't cut them. I cringe when people get on stage on stage and say intimate details of their married life, or play a game where I am just an observer. I love the Trivia on Carnival. My husband and I donate to the Casino. We eat three meals a day. I shop some.  We did have a suite on the Elation. It was lovely. Loved the room. But we were seldom there.  I love the people on Carnival. We have over 40 cruises all total. Over 20 on Carnival.  That is my favorite line. I don't want them to be NCL. Or HAL. I want them to stay Carnival.  But that is just me.  I do wish they would spend some money and put ABC,CBS, NBC,  Fox, ESPN back on cabin TV's.

  6. Our large family group cruised on the Elation this spring. Even during  Spring Break, we had a great time. We are thinking about doing it again, next year, on the Ecstasy, which is moving to JAX  when the Elation goes to P.C.      But The reviews are really bad.  And I think a lot of times bad reviews center around a personal issue  between the Passengers and Carnival, but a  lot of reviews say  that the ship is stinky, looks bad, food is bad, etc.    Could someone on here, tell me what they thought of the Ecstasy? We  can drive to Tampa for the Paradise, or to P.C. for the Elation again.   Thanks.

What's your secret? I love doing the trivia, but all the cheating has made me feel like it isn't even worth my time anymore, and that's disappointing because I do enjoy it a lot. Last year I didn't even bother the last couple days. I'm no genius, but I do have a lot of random, sometimes useless knowledge rolling around in my head. But it never fails, someone always has one more right answer than anyone else. Sometimes it's just me, I just don't have the answers. But a majority of the times I've played, I see people on their phones looking up answers and always see people writing in answers after the host reads them off. And those two types of players are usually the ones who "win." I just wished the Fun Squad hosts would pay more attention to that kind of thing. I know it's just a dumb plastic trophy. It's not even that, really; although, it'd be nice to win one after all of my repeated efforts. But it's more so that the cheating really hurts the experience for honest players who enjoy trivia.

Totally agree.  It is trivial, but it is galling.

  8. We  did a five day  cruise on the Elation in March with family members.  We had a great time. We are looking to do another one next March, but the Elation is going to  Port Canaveral. JAX is getting the Ecstasy.  I know it is an older ship. So was the Elation.  But It was clean and attractive.  Is the Ecstasy as nice as the Elation? Will there be different shows?  Thanks for any information. They seem to have had the same upgrades. Thanks.

  9. I have points on AARP to buy Carnival Gift Cards. Si I would like to buy and use Carnival Gift cards to pay  for a cruise I have booked for September, 2019.  So I am here  and they are there, do I just give them the Pin number over the phone? Mail the cards to them?  Thank you.
