pierces,
I took a look at your "Cruise Sampler" photos. I really like your photo of the the ship's pool deck at twilight with some light in the sky and the ship's artificial light.
Did you use a tripod? Was there any problem using tripod on the ship?
On my shots I didn't use a tripod. Too many other things to pack. The on ship's twilight image of the pool deck with sunrise was iso 800 at 20th of a sec f2.8.

I would take only one lense. With that many you'll always be changing lenses and probably miss some shots. I use a Canon with only one lense and it works fine.
Here are some photos that I took in 2008 and the focus length of the lens it was taken with.

Go with the light God gives you that day. If you wait for the best light you will leave the port disappointed because when you get back on the ship you will say "I wish I would have taken more images." Remember with digital if you don't like what you took you can delete them and the only thing it will cost you is time. On my last cruise I took 10,000 images and edited only about 2,000 of them.

These are awesome! I want photos like these, if I may ask... are they edited?
Yes. With Photoshop Elements

Thanks Tpwolfe! Sounds like you & Rrogers123 got MUCH better deals onboard.
Sadly, HAL's approach to providing discounts for delayers puts my pre-planning nature at war with my inner cheapskate.
I had that battle too.

When we were sailing on the Noordam March 2013 I called ship services and they told me it would be $625.00 for our 21 day cruise for 2 people. We purchased the thermal suite passes the first day on the ship for 2 people, 21 days for $299.00.

I added a Panorama image. underwater video, and a couple land shots that I did with the Nikon AW100. Hope this helps.

Here are some images I took with a Nikon AW100 last March. It work well and didn't leak.

Here is a email I received from Martinique Promotion Bureau in New York City about the ferry to Anse DuFour and getting to Anse Dufour.
Bonjour Mr Wolfe:
We thank you very much for your interest in Martinique and are delighted that you will soon visit our destination on a cruise next winter.
Regarding your request for accessibility to Anse Dufour from Fort de France, there are two major options available:
- You could take a taxi ride from Fort-de-France port to Anse Dufour. It take about 60 min to 75 min. Taxis are equipped with meters but the ride one way costs around 80 euros.
- Another option is to take the ferry from Fort-de-France Bay to Pointe du Bout resort area (a 20-min ride for a fee of 6.50 euros round-trip) and from there, you could take a taxi to Anse Dufour. It will cost you around 16 euros one way.
Sincerely,
Valerie Vulcain

I took these with a 17 to 55 f2.8 zoom on a D7000. A zoom works best for me.
