Also, how many port days do you have that you will be off the ship, not able to use the drink package fully.
We are on a 12 day cruise - 4 ports.
Thanks for all the tips and advice. Just reading old threads with old information, lol. Mostly wanting to know if there is anything current that I was missing and couldn't find on their site.
:)

Thanks!
Any other options for us - besides drink package and paying the regular rate. Can you buy a drink card? I read that on an older post.

Thanks Ken - we are cruising out of Baltimore - on the Grandeur of the Seas

Hello there,
Been awhile since we cruised with RCI. I see on their site you can bring a bottle of wine each and I can see the drink packages. I remember reading that you could order bottles in advance but I can't see the option on their site. I remember there being a wine package but I can't find that either. Also there used to be a buy 1 get 1 coupon for repeat guests, but is that gone too? The drink package for our cruise is $1800 - eep and we don't want to drink to excess but I also don't want to stress about the bill at the end when buying a single drink for $10 + 18%
Do I have any other options?
Can you bring bigger wine sizes on board or do they stick to the 750ml rule? Just wondering because Carnival used to let you bring on a box, if you wanted.
Sorry so many questions - we used to cruise frequently and were better versed.
Thank in advance.

Just like most bars on land, tips are pooled.
When I was a waitress, credit card tips and cash tips were kept individually and not pooled.
-
But how much is given? I paid 15% on $100 (between my hubby and I) but got more like $150 in drinks. It would be just the $15 that is pooled not 15% on the drinks we ordered?
I am asking because one of the cash tips I gave, I said, thank you blah blah, you have been so good to us AND she said, no you have been so good to us. This was our first tip, so I wasn't sure what she was referrng to.

Just cruised with cheers. Question about the tips. We paid the 15% gratuity on the $50 (per day) but how is that tip allocated to staff?
-
Great to know! Thx

There are some new customs clearing apps for Port Everglades. Look them up. I've heard they speed the process.
Is there Wi-Fi at the port?

Am cruising on Conquest next weekend. Haven't cruised in a few years. Any tips or insider information?:)

Can you her an Uber from the airport to to cruise port or to your hotel?
Just read an old article (2015) banning it...
Thx

They do have the blue, red and yellow. No low calorie (Zero) options but they do have Vitamin Water as well. If you do Cheers, these are included.
Yes we are doing cheers. I want to try everything! :)
(But not load up on sugar)
-
Plenty of people fly in the day of. Makes me nervous so I don't.
-
Are thre any low sugar or low calorie versions?
-
Care to elaborate on that? The only "upgrade" promised was the adding of the Serenity Deck, which did happen. Everything else was just to be cosmetic in nature. I was on Conquest last week, you could tell things had been refreshed, it was quite nice. Just not sure what you mean by there still being "a lot to do"...
Sorry that was just what I read on a review.
-
I heard the upgrade was rushed. Still a lot to do. But yes they got an adults only pool area.
-
Can you still bring wine on board in your carry on? Do they allow for large bottles or boxes? I know they used to, but it' been awhile.
We are doing cheers but thought it might be nice to have some in our room for a late lazy night on the balcony.
-
Thanks for the answers everyone. I already booked the cheers online. I also saved 50 bucks cause I got a 500 dollar gift card for 450. Basically almost covered gratuity. Whoop whoop!
Do they still have the gift card deal?
I can't find it on line.
-
We are getting the cheers package so pop will be unlimited.
-
Does Carnival have diet pop? Light iced coffee, low calorie juice etc?
Thanks!
-
Thanks all!
-
Not picky on location - can sleep anywhere - it was for the extra balcony room.
-
How popular are the "L" cabins so close to cruising - 29 days out?
-
Yes, I am afraid it is for the 'guarantee room' - nervous to switch cabins but may be worth it to gamble for the $260.....??
Will prices go lower?!

Our December cruise seems to just go up and down in price - but not as low as we got it - booked a month ago.
