  1. thx all. To me changing from swim wear to a tuxedo is part of the cruise experience that I have always enjoyed. Playing a hand at the Casino in a tux with a vodka martini in hand (...ok too much of a JB fan too)...LOL
  2. I admitted I have not set foot on a cruise ship since 2017 (yes there was also the pandemic since then) so I feel so out of touch. Recently booked a trip on VOTS in June 2024 for a 7 night Greek Isles + Turkey cruise. My tuxedo has been sitting in my closet (and yes I last wore it on Oasis in 2017) and I was thinking if I should dust it off. Hearing these days no one dresses up like they used to anymore on formal nights. I wanted to find out if I put my tux on would I just end up looking like the maître d' among other cruise pax in their shirts and slacks only....appreciate some recent observations. Thx.
  3. that I know....but I stopped drinking sodas years ago....The bottled water + Espressos + mocktails are what I was after. Having a vitality cafe will be the deal maker.
  4. Thanks for the heads up. No I am not planning on lodging on land. My "hotel" is already paid for 😛
  5. So I also read somewhere you have to pay $1.99 to use the text chat on RCI app. And everyone you try to reach will also have to pay the $1.99/day. Is this old news?
  6. Thx for the heads up. This could be make or break on refreshment package purchase.
  7. Can anyone comment whether there is still a Vitality Cafe on VOTS (or there never was I can't remember) after they moved the gym/spa to aft of ship? Have always been enjoying their smoothies/juices.
  8. This is really getting me excited
  9. Interesting that we will be sailing from Athens so just wondering if we arrive at Istanbul would we be considered to have left the EU? Our last 2 stops before heading back to Athens is Santorini and Mykonos, so really do I need to go through passport control when we disembark in Athens? Sorry newbie to European cruising...
  10. I know cruise passengers are granted exemption to the e-Visa as I am only staying during the duration of the stop. Am I correct to assume I need to go through Turkish passport control upon arrival, and therefore would by default have to keep my passport with me while touring the city? I am arriving Jun 19, 2024 and my ship does not leave until the next day. So how does multiple ship-shore-ship work with passport control? First time in Turkey so forgive my ignorance.
