Thank you🛳🛳🛳

Hi Kitt, we leave Sunday too. With the cool weather in Florida right now is it wise to bring jackets on board. Are the restaurants cool? Never been on an Eastern cruise. I am hoping the islands are warm.
-
We cruise next Sunday. Our cruise was booked May 2014, Canadian money. Dollar value was much better. OBC were bought for $1.10. Won't be Ny vacations cruises or cross border shopping for a long time now until the money is in better shape. Crazy, within 5 years it's gone from par to $1.48 to buy a US dollar.

My husband uses a travel scooter.

I will probably take photos with my iPhone but have no clue on how to put them on here, lol. I will not have wifi on the cruise but could possibly email when the cruise is done and I have time to figure it out, lol. Not a techy.
-
Thank you. Not sure if we will be spending much or not. Drinks seem out of control and I'm not spending $5 for a can of Diet Coke. This may break my Diet Coke addiction, lol.
-
We have OBC of $600. When arriving do we have to put more cash on our account or will they ask for a CC? I think our TA had said we have a cash account.

My husband uses a scooter because of mobility issues. We booked this so long ago I forgot we booked accessible.

Did you try breakfast in the main dining room?

We are cruising on the 24th!
-
Hello everyone. Just got our cruise docs for Jan 24th.
We are in room 7620 on FOS.
Has anyone been in this room and can share pictures?
So excited to be cruising next month!

Everyplace you go on the cruise, and in the islands, someone has their hand out. When embarking, the person places the bag on a cart. This is not your Service!!!!! They are loading cargo to go on a vessel at the port. Several people will handle this before it gets to the ship. Once on the ship, the "real" work begins, by the staff of the ship. If anything, they are the ones to tip.
Getting off the ship, if you request or require the assistance of a porter, and they wait with you in line, and take everything to the car, and help you load the car etc, than sure, they deserve a tip. Not the gut that puts you bag on the cart.
Thank you for this info. This is what I was looking for.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts.

Our cruise was a short one 4 years ago on Liberty, from Ft Lauderdale. When we got off the ship people wanted to grab our bags and take our luggage through customs. There were signs all over stating no tipping allowed. Not sure if I explained my question ok or not but wondered about port Canaveral. And it was our Ontario TA that said do not tip.
-
Have been told not to tip the porter at the cruise terminal. There were also signs not to. This was in Ft Lauderdale. Is it the same at Port Canaveral. It was our TA that said tips were not spec ting because they were long shore men.
Any ideas, thank you.

Thank you. Never thought about taking tea.
-
Do you just take your own tea bags to the dining room? I love tea but sounds like I may have to bring my own flavours. Are there keurig machines in the state rooms?

For any ones info I am Alaska Newbie only because that was the first cruise we went on in 2009. Have done one 5 night cruise in 2011 and will do one in 2016.
My hubbie likes the cruising, me, I am still undecided. I actually prefer all inclusive sandals vacations but for the truly great deal we got on this royal cruise that is why we are going. Wintering in Florida makes it nice to not have to fly to port. So no, I am not as experienced as most on this board. Only check it out when something is booked to go on, either wise seems to be too much drama. Again, thanks to posters who have more of a heart than others seem to have.
Wow, forgot I joined in 2006. We were supposed to do an Alaskan cruise with friends. Unfortunately my husband had a stroke that fall and we cancelled and were able to do our dream cruise 3 years later. Hence travelling with a scooter, Walker, luggage makes for an interesting trip. But, the two so far have turned out to be very nice.

Thanks guys! Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

Sorry to have created such an uproar.
-
I don't think I said I was bringing the rum on board. I was just asking the question.
-
Wow, sorry for some of the rude responses.
Hubby is taking two bottles of wine for our room.
Will probably take some diet coke for our stateroom.
Quite frankly, $15 for a drink is a ridiculous price. Spent 6.99 for a strawberry daqauri while in PEI last week. So I don't really think $15 is a great price,
I guess the prices of cruises are less so they can make drink prices sky high.
Thank you for responses from the nice posters.

Is it possible to put the small bottles of rum in your checked luggage?
Also a 12 pack of diet coke is better in carry on?

I did too!
