As a travel agent I have the ability to redeem them for deposits, payments or final payment, not sure why Royals staff can't. It's just like a credit card.

Thank you for your reply.  The person I spoke with at Royal told me he could take them for payment, but my cruise was already paid off.  He couldn't take them for OBC.

  2. Hello All,

I received Egift cards from my children for Christmas, not the normal Royal Gift Certificates.  These cards have numbers like a credit card with an expiration date and CVV number.

When I went to redeem them on the Royal website, only the "normal" redemption form is there, with an authorization number along with a certificate number.

I called to redeem them and was told I have to wait until I get on the ship & go to customer service to redeem them.

Has anyone else had any experience doing this?  I'm worried that once I get onboard they won't be accepted and it's quite a bit on money that I wanted to use as OBC.

Thank you all for your help with this!

    Have a great day!

  3. Hello Everyone,

I have several cruises booked for next year that I booked at Next Cruise while onboard.  The balcony discount I used to get was $250 if booked more than 6 months out.  I do book as a solo and have recently reached 340 C & A points.  Now I'm being told that I'll only receive $188 discount since I'm getting a "single" rate.

I'm definitely not getting a single rate, it's a 1.5 rate as I've been told.  I did book a "single" rate when I booked a solo cabin on the Anthem and it was half of the cruise fare.  What I'm paying for my upcoming cruises is not half of the cost.

Has anyone else had this issue?

    Thanks so much!

  4. Good Afternoon,

I booked a B2B on the Oasis sailing October 15 & 22, 2023.  I did book while onboard at NextCruise and received $150 OBC for each trip.  I see that the prices have dropped a good amount so I called RCCL.

I was told that because I booked these weeks at NextCruise in order to reprice to the cheaper price I would lose all OBC.  I'm not sure if this is right so wanted to reach out here because I think I'd get correct answers.

If this is the way it is, so be it, but wanted to see if I should question this further to a supervisor.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Kathy,

Since you live in PA, you may be sailing from Bayonne NJ. We have sailed 4 times from Bayonne since the Covid restart. Once on Anthem of the Seas and three times on Oasis of the Seas. All four times in a Grand Suite. There has been NO Suite boarding line in Bayonne during our sailings.

We went to the front of the line and asked the employee who was checking for arrival times, and he said there was no Suite Boarding Line, but he ushered us into the line where he was.

It was rather embarrassing, even though no one said anything. Things are changing so rapidly, I don’t know what you will encounter. Our last cruise was on Oasis in June 2022, approx 7 weeks ago…no suite boarding line.

We are sailing on the Oasis again in September in a Grand Suite. I’ll wait and see how the boarding goes. There was a suite line once you entered the terminal.

We are just so happy to be sailing again, and having our loved ones in good health.

Pre Covid, I just don’t recall if there was a suite check in line. Pre Covid seems like an eternity ago…

    Pat

Thanks so much.  We're sailing at the end of September so you're right, things may be totally different by then.  I am so very very happy to be sailing again too, so if I'm in a line around the building, so be it, I'll still be happy  lol

  6. Hello Everyone,

I did email rccl and ask this question, but never received a response so I thought I'd try here.  I have purchased the deluxe drink package for myself (just me in my cabin).  I'm diamond plus so will get 5 drink vouchers a day.  My question is, am I allowed to give the voucher drinks to the people I'm traveling with.

I know no sharing the drinks with the package, but not sure about the voucher perk.

Thanks for any help with this.

Sailing on oasis in October and just received an email saying due to spacing they have taken our cabin away and will replace it when they find a place for us. This cruise is getting more stressful each day. I picked that cabin out  quite awhile ago, to be mid ship and it was the one with the bigger balcony. Anyone else have this happen? Don’t know if being diamond will help any.

I'm sailing on the Oasis Sept 26 & Oct 3.  I've had my cabin for the B2B booked since 2019.  I received the same email and they moved me the first week from deck 8 to deck 11.  Now, I have to pack up my suitcase with everything except the hanging clothes and move to my original cabin the second week.  If the spacing isn't good the first week, why is it good for the second????

    Not a happy camper.

  8. I'm on the Sept 26 - Oct 10 B2B.  I've had my cabin booked for two years, same cabin so I wouldn't have to pack up between weeks.  Last week, Royal moved me to a totally different cabin for the first week.

So, I'll be packing/unpacking 4 times during the 2 weeks.  This is getting very crazy.  Not to mention that I'm not a spring chicken to lug my two weeks worth of clothe around.  Will there be porters to help us haul our stuff around?

I did the same with choosing my check-in time for the second week, chose later as to not take an early spot because I figured I'd already be on the ship so no worries.  What happened to testing us on the next to the last night?

Yes, I just want to cruise, but this is getting harder & harder to say.

  9. I had a cruise booked a few years back, no problem seeing the payment tab. Then I added a cruise for the following week, making my reservation a B2B. Both payment tabs for each week disappeared. It took many, many calls and a long time before someone finally figured out that it happened because both weeks got linked together, what???? Anyway, she "unlinked" them and the tabs reappeared!

    Strange happenings!!!

  10. The second set of instructions came by email. Of course, I'll have to call eventually, if for no other reason, than to make final payment by phone. I can live without the payment button.. It's just annoying that it happened and the instructions provided to fix it twice now, don't appear to be valid as there is no option to remove it yet that's what they are telling me to do.

On the plus side, no issues at all with DD res on my Quantum sailing.

I had the same issue with the payment tab disappearing on my Quantum reservation. I booked it last year when the reservations opened, all was fine until one day, poof, the payment tab was gone. This happened back in February. I was told about 6 different reasons why it happened, but it was always going to be fixed within 24 hours. Never happened. During one call with a rep I was told that "yes, we can certainly fix it, but we would have to "recode" it and the price would go up". I thought he was kidding, but, nope, I would have to pay more for a cruise I bought almost a year before so it could be fixed.

That statement just boiled my blood, so off went an email to Mr. Goldstein. Three days later I got a call from the executive office and the process to fix it began. I ended up on the phone with a very nice lady from the IT group who talked to me the entire time she was correcting the issue. She did have to cancel and rebook all my DD reservations, but I was able to keep the times I had.

  11. Speaking of balcony discounts. Has anyone booked a Super Balcony (SB) on the Quantum or Anthem and been told that you will not get the entire balcony discount?

I have a 10 night booked for the Anthem for 4/16, am a Diamond member and was only given $163.00 for my balcony discount.

I totally understand not getting double points since I'm only paying for one person, but only getting half the balcony discount doesn't seem right.

  12. The weird thing about the single person balcony price is that a solo traveler can get a regular (larger) balcony and pay a 200% supplement and it's about $700 cheaper!!!! So, who would choose the cabin with the "single supplement" of over $3500?

    Very strange pricing.

  13. I just got off the phone with C&A to get some prices for sailings on the Anthem for 2016.

Feb 2016 8 night sailings for 1 person in a SB is $3594.00:eek::eek: Holy cow I didn't pay that much for my Quantum sailing next April and I am in a regular balcony, so paying almost double.

Guess I'll be going back to the Allure.

  14. We're on the Explorer later this month. Was the diamond event held in the 19th Hole? I know that you can get a variety of free drinks at the bars through out the ship during the diamond event with a limit of 3 drinks per person per night. Is it still only wine and soda in the diamond event or can you now get beer and mixed drinks for free?

Sorry, I don't know where the event was held. I was traveling with family who are not Diamond yet, so I just got my drinks from a bar. The paper you get in your stateroom lists spirits, wines by the glass and beers included in the program. At the bar I was told no frozen drinks and if I wanted a rum and coke I'd have to pay for the coke:eek:

So I just "suffered" with two Bailey's and one Jameson's each night:D

  15. Do you happen to remember what wines were on the list? I know usually in the lounge it's Chardonnay or Merlot. Hoping maybe there are more choices at the bars.

Sure do. Here is the list of "Wines by the Glass":

    St. Martin Chardonnay

    Danzante Pinot Grigio

    Beringer White Zinfandel

    St. Martin Cabernet Sauvignon

    St. Martin Merlot

    Hope this helps!

  16. We were on the Freedom last week and for happy hour our cards were provided with 3 drinks we could get at any bar between the hours of 4:30 and 8:00. This was done so we didn't need to go to the Diamond Lounge or Concierge Lounge, although those were available too.

I was told this was only the second week they were doing this. Does anyone know which other ships do this?

We were on the Ex last week and I had the drinks pre-loaded on my card. It is a very nice perk, but beware that frozen drinks are not included as per bartenders and guest services. I asked for a BBC (bailey's, banana & coconut) and was told that drink was not included, although Bailey's is on the list. I was also told that if I ordered a rum and coke I'd have to pay for the coke. Really??? I can't believe if I was in the Diamond lounge I'd have to pay for the coke.

Don't know how it's done on other ships.

  17. I've read about various recent benefit changes, but one I'm reading conflicting things is about whether or not diamond balcony discount still applies for shorter 3-5 day cruises?

Thanks in advance for the info.

I was just on the phone with C & A regarding pricing for a 5 day on the Explorer (balcony) she told me the diamond discount was $125 because it's a short cruise. I asked if the 7 day is still $225 for diamond and she said yes.

Funny, last night I was doing a mock booking for a balcony on the Oasis and my discount was $226:eek: Really - $226??? ha ha
