We were also on this cruise.  The buses leave starting at 7am every 30 minutes.  We booked rough guest services for $10.00 a person.  We booked it to get to the train station.  Keep in mind if you do take the train to Venice there is a elevator at the Ravenna station but not at the stop where you have to switch trains.  You need to be able to take your luggage up and down a few sections of stairs.  If we do it again I would definitely take the bus transfer all the way to Venice and not mess with the train.

Thank you for this information.  Did you change trains in Ferrara?

  2. I am not sure if this applies to your situation, but for our Equinox cruise earlier this year, I received at least four emails asking me to put in my vaccination records -- all AFTER I entered the info and received a confirmation that it had been received!  I chalked it up to Celebrity's IT department snafu.

Well, just another reason I will be booking differently going forward.

    Thank you.

Bummer!  I didn't realize that when I booked two cabins for summer cruises.  BTW I was on hold with CostcoTravel for over 4 1/2 hours to get a price reduction last week!  Will rethink booking with Costco in the future!

I tested last night around mid-night and was a solid NeGATIVE.   I wanted to save my last couple tests as it really doen't matter at this point.   They will not test me again on the ship or give me any self tests.  Oh well... The reason they will not test is the UK doesn't require self quarantine even if positive.

What a bummer if it was a false positive!  I'm glad you only had a day or so on your current leg.  Best wishes of your travel home.

  5. I've been following along on your thread.  Thank you for all of the informative posts and pictures.  As everyone else, I am so sorry that you tested positive for Covid.  After the ship's positive test, did you self-administer another test in your cabin?  I just wonder how accurate the tests on the ship are, and if their procedures to match the test with the passenger are not subject to error.

Thanks and I hope you both continue to be asymptomatic.

  6. I've been on three cruises in the past 6 months.

On all three, the ships were approximately 1/3 full:

    - didn't wear mask on two of the three cruises

    - ate at 2-top on 2 cruises, and will our family of 6 on one cruise

    - sat at the martini bar and chatted

    - sat at back of theater (distanced) a few times

    - mostly used stairs (or waited for empty elevator - not hard since ship so empty)

    - used hand sanitizer/washed hands/knuckle for pushing buttons/don't use handrails (all usual stuff when I am on a cruise).

No one caught Covid.  Enjoy your cruise!

I am following this thread.  We plan on staying in Venice for a couple of nights prior so would potentially be getting a cab back to the airport to pick up the shuttle to Ravenna.

That's what I was thinking as well. My trip isn't until July so, hopefully, others will post about their experiences with the shuttle in the next few months.  I cannot think of any reason to only offer this service only to people who fly in on the morning of the cruise.

    I’ll answer my own question!

RCI shuttles from VCE are $45pp one way/$90pp return which is £69

Do you know shuttle times from VCE to Ravenna port?  Also, did they say you had to be on a flight to get on the shuttle (vs just showing up at the airport for the shuttle)?  Thanks

  10. I traveled solo for the first time in October.  I, too, was nervous about eating alone.  As it turned out, it was fine -- some nights I did not even bring my book!  I always asked for a table for two - had no problems.  I also met a new friend and had dinner with her two nights.

I thought I got extra attention from the wait staff as well as the sommelier!

  11. I am booked on RCL Brilliance of the Seas in July leaving from "Venice (Ravenna)".  I called RCL and specifically asked if there was shuttle from Venice to Ravenna.  The rep said no, and the said that cruise was leaving from Venice.  LOL.

I THEN asked if RCL shows transportation available from Venice airport to the "port".  He said "Yes".  The cost was $45.  He also asked for a flight number, but said that the shuttle left from the Baggage Claim area (outside of security).  I asked him what were the shuttle times, and he said he had no information on that.

So, I signed up for the shuttle, but have pretty close to zero confidence on this method of getting to Ravenna.  Very frustrating!

I book this on the Delta website (log in, certificate in my wallet), but on some flights eligible seats are never available, even the day they go on sale, thanks to Delta's forecasting models. Depending on your savings, it might make sense to try West Palm Beach.

As soon as the flight schedule became available, I have been searching for companion ticket to FLL for January 2023.  No luck!  Between CVG and FLL, none of the flights - NONE - are coded for companion fares (all are code "N").  Ditto for return. Flying into PBI or MIA is not a good idea since we would have to pay huge Uber fees to get back and forth to FLL.  Searched several days surrounding preferred date.

I called Delta (Gold Medallion number), and was told (not for the first time), that American Express sets the number of tickets available for companion fares - there is nothing Delta can do.  BTW - on the flights I checked, only two tickets had been sold - plane almost completely unsold.
