  1. Just came across a great price for a MSC cruise and booked it on-line to make sure that we did not miss the deal. We normally find a cruise that we want to book and then contact our TA with the specifics and she books it for us.

Requesting an answer to our question in the Title line above. We sail often but this will be our first sailing with MSC. Thanks in advance for any info advice related to our desire to transfer our booking to our TA.

I did the same thing when this sale was on and I couldn't reach my TA. There is a form to fill out and send in to MSC to get the reservation transferred to your TA. My TA sent me the form. I filled it out, scanned it and emailed it to MSC as an attachment. You can also fax it in. Bob
  2. Bob ... I have not had chance to fire up my pc yet and look at the photos we took but from those on CDP it looks the same, the only bit I don`t recall is the Silver bar but it was a good few years ago now, maybe the photos will show it.
Dave...I remember the Silver Bar and Lounge well as that is where we had our Meet and Greet. Some of us also met there for free drinks before dinner on the Captains evening.
  3. Hi Bob, Tom and I are booked on Divina October 28th. Will be interesting to see the changes. We are also booked for two weeks again on Seaside in September. Just did another on Seaside in April.

Hope all is good with you.

Hi Dave, so I went back and studied the deck plans again and I think that I was wrong. I think it is only my memory that has changed. I'll watch for your review of your Divina cruise a month before mine.
  4. I thought the entertainment was lacking on my Koningsdam cruise with the singers and dancers only appearing a few times in two weeks. It was a sad thing that the comedian was the best talent. I had read that the entertainment had improved and that they were making better use of the 270 degree theater and booked a 22 day transatlantic and Med cruise. If this turns out to be true I will cancel. Bob

  5. Your cabin is over/opposite the elevator lobby so B&W lounge should not be a problem. Good news also is that lounge will probably be your muster station. EM
Thanks, that's what I thought. I also like the Black and White Lounge and will probably spend time there. Bob
  6. Hi Bob ... My foot is still a problem at the base of the Achilles tendon, need to get it right before we head to Singapore in September for the F1 Grand Prix and a four night cruise.

Seems MSC are giving you guys some great deals, noticed the Divina Xmas cruise if you book here has drinks and WiFi included in Bella which makes a change.

The T.A is better going the other way as it gets warmer for us.

What has changed on Divina ?

Wow, the F1 in Singapore will be awesome! Our sale had a Bella balcony with free drinks for the price of an inside. I only had a quick look but it looks like they moved Eataly and a lounge and the only special for the Galaxy restaurant is sushi. In fact they called it the Galaxy Sushi Restaurant. I hope that isn't true. I'll let you know. Bob
  7. Jumping in with the people who booked the Divina during the Memorial Day Sale. I grabbed 8230 and hope it is far enough forward to avoid most of the noise from the Black and White lounge. Any knowledge of any issues with this cabin? Thanks Pete. Bob

  8. One question , how did you manage to get the tour of the Yacht Club area? I'm not sure if it would be our cup of tea but I would love to get a peek inside.

Thanks again for sharing ! Did you book another trip or are you going to try something else ?

On our Cabin Crawl we visited the Yacht Club with permission and specifically three cabins from our group, an inside, a standard delux balcony cabin and the Royal Suite. We were very quiet and all went well except for one of our group who is a video blogger and wandered off to take some photos and/or video. The Yacht Club staff was not happy with that. Bob
  9. Hi Dave, thanks for the review and so sorry to hear that you suffered with your foot all week. I just booked the Divina on the Memorial Day Sale for November. It will be interesting to see if it is as good as I remember from 2014. I see that some areas have been moved around, not sure that I approve. Well, we'll see! Also going transatlantic next April but won't be stopping in your neck of the woods. Hope your foot is feeling better. Bob

  10. Great review, thanks. It mirrors my experience to a T with the exception of that we never had a problem booking the 8PM show and the people in the theater were better behaved. We also did the Cozumel food tour and it was a highlight of our cruise. Gerry was our guide and did an awesome job. The fish we had at Pescaderio was the best I have ever had. Nice to revisit our cruise through your eyes. Happy cruising in the future!

  11. General impression and enjoyment of the cruise was excellent. Ship beautiful, cabin comfortable, beds excellent, food hot, fresh, well-prepared and presented with far more choice than expected. Would definitely cruise Seaside again.
Great to hear. Welcome home. Bob
  12. I just started my photo intense review of our Eastern Caribbean cruise on the MSC Seaside, Feb 3rd-10th, 2018. I try to add a new post every day. The review starts with a deck by deck description of the ship (deck 4-8, rest is part 2). Sorry, the text is in German but that doesn´t matter for the first two parts. For all following parts google translates usually works quite well (although sometimes some funny translations).

Looking forward to your review. Bob

OK, I found it! It will give me a chance to practice my high school German from 50 years ago. Wonderful photos!!! And Google translate works well.

For anyone having trouble finding it, here it is Seaside Review

  13. Ummm...wait! If we're in the YC - and we are - we are seriously tied to only the YC restaurant??? :o:o So we cannot eat at any of the free MDR's if we want to change up a night or two?? That's definitely different....:confused:
Yes you can, at least a couple on our cruise did (Although I can't see why), just ask the concierge to arrange it for you. Also there are three specialty restaurants right outside the Yacht Club entrance although they are not included. We bought the Trio dining package for the week that we were not in the Yacht Club (We were on a B2B with week two in the Yacht Club) which gives you a sample of what each has to offer.
  14. We enjoy laying around, relaxing, our son is very active and enjoys teen club and meeting new friends.

Will we enjoy MSC? Is it freestyle cruising like NCL? Food edible? Yacht club worth it?

You sound like the perfect family for the Yacht Club. You and your wife will enjoy the excellent service and relaxing atmosphere of the Yacht Club while your son is only a few feet away from the forward elevators and all the excitement that the Seaside has to offer. I think that the food is similar to that on NCL (I sailed on the Breakaway) and the Yacht Club is definitely worth it. Bob
  15. Thanks for the review. Our experience was similar to yours except for the fact that I like my food well done (It's the way Mom cooked everything). My wife did manage to get some things that were medium-rare and she was happy. We also had Arthur as our waiter and he was a highlight of the cruise. We enjoyed our week and will sail with MSC again. Too bad that Ocean Cay has been delayed again until the Fall of 2019. Bob
