We also use body pouches. I wear mine around my waist, under my pants or capris. I can remove it and take out the passport for an official then put it back. I only wear tops that go over my pants, not tucked in. My husband wears his across his body under his shirt. He lifts up his shirt and I get his passport out. He could do this himself if necessary. We do not use cross body bags because they can be violently stolen.

Wow, that's a problem. I would trust your doctor, but include all travel to and from the ship with luggage. Will you have lifting limitations? Once on the ship, you should probably be okay, but flying/driving would be a problem.

Are puzzle rooms on any other ships? If not, any guesses if they plan on adding them? I would really love to do this, even for a fee.
How many people are in each group and what kind of venue do they use?

We are doing a Mediterranean cruise in October. Similar ports, but without Greese and Turkey. We are not too concerned about safety, but danger can happen anywhere. If more unrest happens in Turkey, your ports may be changed.
I'm always glad to be through airports, since that is the biggest choke-point with lots of people and might be a target area.

Lots of info on this subject here. Different ideas. You can search to see what others have done. I pack my big straw hats by turning them upside down and packing soft stuff around them like underwear and pajamas and I fold my foam bras in half and stuff them in the crown to hold the shape. This works!

I hope you do realize they must take roll at each muster station. By waiting in the comfort of your cabin, everyone is waiting on you to complete the roll call for your particular muster station. Your attitude is why muster takes so long.

We are booked on Vision for the repositioning cruise on October 23 -November 6 from Bayonne to Galveston. They may be making changes to the earlier sailings too

I love my big sun hats. Mine are from Wallaroo, Boulder, Colorado. They have a string in the inside band that allows you to customize the fit. I have white and black. I sometimes put a flower or decorations on them, especially in the Caribbean.
The best decision I ever made was to pack them in my suitcase without trying to find a "packable or crushable " hat that really did come back into shape without creases. I stack my 2 hats with my DH's 1, then put them upside down and then pack soft things around them such as panties and pajamas. I fold my bras (foam cups) and they just fit inside the crown of the hat. No more creased, crushed hats. I've spent plenty on the so-called packable and crushable hats and was disappointed with the results.
I once saw a well-dressed woman going through an airport with two different hats stacked on her head. They were straw with decorations on them. She looked silly, but I thought she had guts and I thought "you go, girl".

Alter Ego, the better wines are not available by the glass, unless things have changed in the last 2 months.

My issue is with appropriateness. I did not want my daughter challenged or embarrassed.

Thanks for your replies. We don't save an opened bottle of wine because they don't have a vacuum or nitrogen system on board to property save wine in opened bottles. Really expensive red wine cannot be saved without some method of preserving the remaining wine. We have discussed this with the wine tenders in Vintages.
So, we always finish our bottle by sharing or drinking it ourselves. We do like to share -- makes for great conversation and is lots of fun. Drinking is for socializing anyway.
Bob, we will probably buy our wine from Vintages and take it to dinner wherever we choose to eat. I'm sure the wait staff won't know how the purchase was made. Do you think this is a good plan?

I fully support not sharing cocktails, water, coffee or other individual items from a beverage. I am interested in the expectations regarding the whole bottle of wine purchased with a drink package. How does Royal handle this? Are you expected to drink the entire bottle yourself?
Our daughter is interested in the package since she does not get the evening cocktails we will with our status, but she will not drink an entire bottle. The drink packages offer a good discount on better wine by the bottle. This is the only way the package is viable financially.

Our Prohibition Party was a blast. Our group (9) all dressed in costumes. I think you have more fun if you get in the spirit and participate. I was amazed at the full-out professional costumes. Think Downton abbey first season. Some of those costumes must have cost plenty. We didn't spend much of anything, just a black dress shirt and white tie with boutonnière and suspenders. Fedora. I wore flapper dress, long beads. I got DH's shirt and suspenders at Goodwill, brand new. They were selling cheap Fedoras on board.

I would ask in Vintages. They are easy to work with and will give you a discount if you order several bottles.

We like to buy our dinner bottle of wine from Vintages whenever our ship has one. Their wine list is more extensive and the wine tenders in there are very knowledgeable. They have the DR menu and can advise us on a bottle that will complement our choices, especially when we each plan on a different entree. We can order a white wine for the first course and carry that and the bottle of red to the DR with us. Now that there is no sommelier in the DR, the only knowledgeable person in wine/food pairing is in Vintages.
If we do not finish our bottle, we take it with us. We have no problem finishing it and usually end up sharing with friends. Surprisingly, we seem to make lots of friends.

A little more information regarding my friend who had the heart attack. The ship was almost to Grand Cayman when the event happened. He was taken to the ship's infirmary for a time, then off loaded to shore. This is a tender port. His wife was in a full leg brace from a badly sprained knee. We decided to disembark with them to help with luggage and logistics. The time spent in the Grand Cayman hospital was for evaluation by emergency staff, the cardiologist on staff and other specialists there. They stabilized him and they made the decision to send him home via regular air instead of a medical evacuation since he had a mild heart episode not a major heart attack. That was their decision, not ours.
We traveled home with them, again, to help with luggage and logistics. We were required to book our flights ourselves, which included flying to Miami, on to Houston, and on to Los Angeles for them. All with him in a wheelchair and his wife in full leg brace.
He came out of it fine although he had cardiac problems that caused his death 5 years later.
By the way, they had insurance, which reimbursed their costs. We were not covered because the emergency was not with us personally, but our friend. Remember, that is reimbursement. Everything had to be paid for at the time. Hospital, last minute airfare, hotels, food. Our friends maxed out 4 credit cards. Lesson form used: always travel with credit cards with high credit limits.

I'll answer the original question, not comment on insurance. One of our cruise friends had a heart attack just before we got to Grand Cayman. He was taken to the hospital in Georgetown. He got excellent care, was treated by English-trained physicians and got appropriate cardiac support. The hospital is not the same as a large teaching hospital with cardiac specialists and cardiac transplant experience, but my hometown hospital doesn't either.

Hi, Mary. We are going to have so much fun! Another deck 7 wine party coming up. And yes, we are doing the b2b. Actually the Fall Foliage cruises have been on my bucket list for a while now. I hope some of the fun folks from our Liberty repo can join us. The prices on these two were reasonable for the long cruises and great ports.

OK, we couldn't stand it -- we booked the b2b too. See everyone on board. We got our favorite cabin, #7158 aft balcony. Could not pass that up!!

If I buy the drink package on-line before we go on our Brilliance cruise, will there be additional VAT applied since we will be sailing from Barcelona?

Have you asked your waiter or spoken to the maitre d? I believe there are many crew that are vegetarians and have have many more selections available. They will offer more selections for some variety.

What days are the 4-5 night cruises? Not on Sunday to avoid Liberty passengers?

We have done several B2B cruises, usually including a transatlantic. We are going again in October, first a 12 day Mediterranean cruise followed by a 14 day transatlantic. We have found after about 4-5 days, we cut way back on eating and drinking alcohol. We skip lots of carbs at meals and walk everywhere. Our alcohol becomes just a cocktail and a glass or two of wine with dinner. With all the choices at dinner and throw in the speciality restaurants, we don't become bored at dinner. Breakfast and lunch can be boring, but they are at home too. How many ways can you cook eggs and make a salad or sandwiches?
We love it because we meet so many great people, so we don't mind eating the same thing.
