  1. Seriously? The OP has a valid, sincere question for those in CC.

I totally disagree. This poster gave a sincere and forthcoming response.

I get op’s concern about hfcs, but this is in soooooo many food items today it’s almost impossible to avoid. It is 100% impossible to avoid on a cruise ship. And if that is her concern, she should know that simply bringing on honey and maple syrup will actually NOT avoid consumption of hfcs.

  2. I normally wouldn't, until the comment was made that it was so important to buy bottled water that the poster couldn't pay their rent. That's just asking for snarky comments. It's ridiculous when better water is available out of the tap on the cruise. These same people will get water during dinner... Where do you think that comes from? Lol. But if you see it come from the tap yourself, then it's awful, tastes different, and you question if you can make your rent payment to pay to avoid it. Lol.

You’re making an assumption there. I order bottled water in the dining rooms as well. You’re right, it is the same water there and tastes just as bad. Lol.

Also, her comment about the rent was humorous. A joke. That’s all. And it was funny.

  3.

If you have a 2 BR, what about giving gramma the 2nd BR and letting your little one sleep on the couch? I know it would mean your youngun would need to go to sleep in the other room but wouldn't it be easy enough to move them onto the couch when you're going to bed. That way, gramma has suite access and you have a great baby sitter.

Just wondering if that might work...

I tried to get us a hotel room together one time, and she was weird about it.

Also, son is scared of boats. I promised him his own room with a tv and a butler to bring him gummy bears. A bribe that has worked. I’m not reneging.

  4. This topic comes up every year or so. She cannot be registered in two rooms. If you get her a studio, she won’t have access to Haven. She cannot be on the manifest twice.

She can certainly babysit for you , but only in your cabin and not in other Haven areas.

Can you just get her her own penthouse ? Then she has privacy and your 3 year old has Gramma.

I could, for another $6k. :( Oh well. Granny is staying home then. Lots of time in the kids area I guess.

  5. i have a couple questions regarding a fourth person. We have a two bedroom family suite in the haven on the bliss and I have been thinking about asking my mil to join us as a fourth person in our cabin (paying her taxes and registering her). I want her to be able to be with us during the daytime to help with our three year old. But I would also like to get her a studio cabin of her own so she has privacy at night. Right now the studios are full anyways.

    So two questions:

1.if i waitlisted her for the studio, is it likely to get one. The cruise is in October.

And 2. Can someone be registered to two cabins.

  6. I’ve had the water that is filtered on many a cruise ship, including ncl. I can and do taste the difference. I do not enjoy drinking it as I don’t like the taste, and I drink a lot of water. For those of you that are bothered by that....too bad.

Also, don’t join me at a wine tasting. You’ll probably be sitting there downing two buck chuck saying, it’s almost free and tastes the same.

  7. Yeah I just checked, it's $50 for a case!!!! That's insane, it's water. Guess I'll skip paying my rent this month so I can buy water instead.

Yea, honestly I think ncl sucks in this respect.

  8. No. It is "rite" as in a ceremony, not "right".

Ok, truth. Before you even corrected me, I actually saw I had written it incorrectly. Then I thought about editing to make the joke “eta: right and rite.” Lol. Then I thought no one here would get it. And no one would even notice my grammatical error. Haha, except you! So there you go.

Now WHERE is my martini🍸 ?!

  9. You will have no problem getting your underaged kid drinks on any NCL ship. Just buy it and hand it to them. You will never be questioned.

Part of the fun of turning twenty one is walking up to the bar for the first time, without a fake id....ahem...., and ordering your drink. I remember waiting until after midnight to do it on the day of my birthday. It’s a right of passage! Not to be denied. Lol

  10. You’re getting a lot of bad answers, so here you go:

For purposes of complying with the minimum drinking age requirements, a guest’s age is established upon embarkation (beginning of the cruise). If a guest celebrates their birthday during the cruise, and thereby becomes of age to consume alcohol, the guest may thereafter ask the Guest Services Manager to modify ship’s records to permit their consumption of alcohol during the remainder of the cruise. The guest will be required to appear at Guest Services to present a government issued form of identification to permit verification of their age.

  11. I’ve been on the Epic twice in the last year, and there was Ketel One served both times. Matter of fact, I was in the DOS, and one of my three bottles was Ketel One. Had to upgrade from Smirnoff, but yeah, they definitely have Ketel One. I assume in order to keep the experience the same fleet wide, it’s on all Norwegian ships.

Best news I heard all day! Thanks for letting me know!

Hopefully it will be part of the ubp. 🙏

  12. To the Ketel One fan, I used to drink it too, now I’m partial to Tito’s...I have no idea if NCL pours it...

Have you tried the Kirkland Signature Vodka Costco sells? Hard to beat for the price...

No, but I’m adventurous. I’m willing to try new things.

As far as Kirkland, I hear you. I periodically buy a cote de rhone from them which is surprisingly good. I mean, it’s not opus, but for the price it’s a great deal.

  13. Driving up PCH is very pretty, there is the Santa Monica Pier. There are also the Science Museums and the La Brea Tar Pits. Parking sucks around the La Brea Tar Pits but there are parking garages. The television studios have stand by tickets to see tapings of TV shows too. You will NOT be able to see it all, pick the thing you want to do most. If you want to see the ocean I vote for the drive up PCH, eat at Dukes or Gladstones and then hit the Santa Monica Pier. There is a pedestrian walkway at the secluded beach near where the stars live. You’ll find this open gate at the address 22126 PCH in Malibu. Carbon Beach is a gradually sloping beach which makes it great for taking off your shoes and kicking around in the shallow surf. Just note that at high tides the beach is mostly, if not all, wet. This reminds me, the better getty to see, my opinion of course, is the old one of pch. You can make a reservation and it’s free. Of course, I’m a fan of greek history.
