I just placed my order with Just Because of You for this Saturday. I dealt with Charlotte and she was very helpful. I ordered two baskets. One with vokda, cranberry juice and club soda and the other was a beer basket. Very easy to deal with and you don't have to worry about trying to smuggle it on board.:)

We've never bothered lugging bottles of anything onboard. We have to fly to port, so it's a real hassle, considering the small amount of savings you may have. Yes, we have a bar bill, but it's a vacation and we expect that! I'd rather pay for my drinks than risk having broken liquor on my clothes. Not to mention the extra weight! That's why we don't buy "cheap" liquor in the islands--who wants to carry it? Not me!!!!
Keep in mind that everyone that takes something on board is not trying to save money. I liked it when RCI allowed you to buy on board and pay the in room consumption fee and take it back to your cabin. It's nice to be able to enjoy a drink on the balcony once in a while and room service is out of the question as the drinks are usually watered down by the time that they arrive.

Mike San Juan is included as one of the ports of call that they handle but not all items are available in all ports.
Here is the website. Just give Shelley a call. She is very nice and helpful. She can email you her price list. It does not include all alcohol. She will give you those prices over the phone.

I've met some that are in the entertainment area, Camp Carnival and the pursers desk.

Any food served in the Windward dining room on the Norway. Worst food and service of 28 cruises.

"We've run out of booze!"
LMAO at this one Carol.

If I'm not mistaken Zenith left on Saturday.
I remember a NCL ship being mentioned. Celebrity may have but I don't remember them.

People were unhappy because it never was a hurricane. Plus numerous other smaller ships made the journey to Bermuda while the Voyager headed North. Royal badly mishandled the situation.
The other ship was a NCL ship that left a different day. RCI was going by NOAA and their warnings as they should do.

Pete I seem to remember nothing was given for the change in itinerary. Yes the tempers ran high here on Cruise Critic. Many on that cruise felt that RCI should have ignored the warnings of the hurricane and go to Bermuda anyway. I also remember that most felt no sympathy for the cruisers as we all know what can happen when a storm is approaching. Just hope that no storms are brewing out there when you cruise.:)

Those ships came in around 15-16,000 tons. The Starward had some of the best food and service back then. That is one thing IMHO that has dropped as the ships have become larger.

Nice photo. She still looks good IMHO. Thanks for sharing.

I cruised on the Caribe back in May of 92 for a week to the Western Caribbean. She was a nice little ship but we did hit a tropical wave after leaving Ocho Rios and for the next eight hours the ship did some serious rocking. Overall a great ship. I have seen her two or three times within the last few years. Below is a link to a photo of here that I snapped in Nassau as the Regal Empress.

Her sister the former Starward is reported to be moving to Pt. Canaveral in November to start two night cruises to Grand Bahama. She will cater to the time share crowd much like the Regal Empress does in FLL.

The Starward was my first cruise back in 86 and it hooked me on cruising. I may just have to take this cruise to see how she looks twenty years later.
Here is the line that she is sailing for now. She looks good in the photos.

Very funny video and I have to say that after cruising with Carnival, some of his complaints were valid. Very funny way to get ones point across.

How long is the cruise?

My first cruise was on the Starward back in 1986 out of Miami to the western Caribbean. It hooked me onto cruising. That was one great ship. The service that we received is not seen on today's megaliners. The food was also some of the best that I have ever tasted at sea. I still remember the cabin quite well. Very small. In the bathroom you could sit on the toilet, take a shower and brush your teeth without ever moving one spot. They say you always remember your first and for me I will never forget.

I have been looking at this board for about 4 months now....the search engine has not worked since day 1......now I am a patient person, but my patience ran out awhile ago with this....this is ridiculous!!!!!
It is not that bad. Everything has bugs every once in a while. None of us have the right to complain as this is a free site that is not costing anyone a penny to enjoy. I really have not found that many issues to get upset over. It is down from time to time but I just come back and visit a little later and everything is usually fine. Give it time and things will work out.

I don't think we're helping the problem. Look how many of us have countdown clocks, pictures by our names and cute little pictures in our posts - that has to be adding a ton to the volume.
I have often wondered if this might be a source of the problem. I would think that it would put a large amount of work on the system. I guess time will tell if that is part of what if going wrong.

She told me her name was Charlotte and that was what I wrote down when she was giving me prices. Not sure if they how many are working for Shelley. She was new as she had to call me back when she got the prices from Shelley. Of course my ears could have been playing tricks on me too.:) All I know is I have my liquor being delivered Saturday!!!!!!:D
