I see you live in the San Francisco area. Did you do the Alaskan cruise out of San Francisco? We are thinking of booking grand princess out of San Fran next July.

Hi. I was wondering if the category 8K extended balcony cabin has much bigger balcony than regular balcony. We are sailing on Carnival Miracle.
-
Thanks for such a detailed review. We are sailing on her this December and it was great reading all your comments on the ship and what if offers. :)

After cruising on rcl and celebrity we booked a cruise on carnival spirit and decided we were going to have a good time no matter what. We didn't expect to have the fantastic time we had. We actually found the food some of the best we have ever had on a cruise ship. We found the staff to be wonderful. I would sail carnival spirit again in a heart beat. In saying that I've read reviews from people on the same cruise as us saying how terrible it was ?????? We loved their adult only pool deck area.
Book it, go with a good attitude, and enjoy!

Thanks so much for taking the time to post this review. I have really enjoyed reading it and the amazing photos. I will be joining you tomorrow in honolulu for the leg back to Sydney. :)

We did the premium drinks package on our last 15 night celebrity cruise and I don't think I would do it again. Yes it was nice to order a drink and not worry about how much it was costing, however we certainly didn't drink our monies worth. We like wine every night and had coffees etc through the day, cocktails each day. Still we couldn't drink enough to make if worth while.
Cost it out, search for the drinks cost on the ship you're going on and price out what you think realistically you would drink in a day and see for yourself.
Whatever you decide, have fun!

If you do a search for day tours from auckland you will get some ideas. I suggest you consider a trip to the Bay of Islands. It's gorgeous up there.

You could start with any of those advertised on CC's weekly deals list. I have used each of the main three that always appear there and have had decent service from each.

Thanks. I will have a look. :)

I was wondering how any of you went about choosing a us ta?

If you haven't seen this before, it may help as it compares the per-bottle pricing with the package.
Very helpful! Thank you very much! :)

One of the best cruises we've ever done was on celebrity century doing the Panama Canal. We love the size, not too big and the staff were outstanding.

Jen and sue are cruising on radiance of the seas honolulu to Sydney September 22, 2014. :)

If we keep asking, we may finally get our winter cruises north to Cairns, also Darwin, via Thursday Island, if they ever get really creative!
I would love this!

Wonderful having you back!:) enjoying your review very much.

I dont think you can go wrong. I strongly suggest you view from lots of different points during the day. We loved our transit. It was simply an awesome cruise that we found so interesting.
Have a wonderful time. :)

5 miles ............ about 10 minutes if there isn't traffic ............. figure $20 bucks each way
Thanks. Will I need to have CFP francs? Or would they accept any other currency? For example in Vanuatu they accepted Australian dollars.

I am thinking of booking a pool pass for the day (includes lunch) at the Intercontinental Hotel Resort and Spa when we are in Papeete for the day on our Radiance of the Seas cruise.
I just wondered if anyone knew how far away the hotel was from the where the ship would dock?

Really looking forward to reading more :)
Please help me choose....

I'm trying to decide which Alaskan cruise to book for next July. We are flying from New Zealand so cam fly direct into either San Francisco or Vancouver. The cruises I'm deciding between are:
Celebrity millennium July 8, out of Vancouver.
Celebrity infinity, July 10, Alaskan Hubbard glacier cruise out if Vancouver.
Celebrity solstice, July 15, Tracy arm fjord out of Seattle.
Grand princess, July 10, out of San Francisco.
I would love any advice from more experienced cruisers.
