Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Keep in mind, this can change up until shortly before the ship comes into port. Right now, for example, the Volendam is listed as terminal 26 for that sailing.
  2. Back up for me now, but slower than typical.
  3. We were on the Westerdam for the September 11-18 Alaska cruise. Hubby wore his tux and I wore a floor-length gown for both "dressy" nights of the cruise. Pretty sure we were the only ones out of ~1500 passengers, but we love to dress up for our own pleasure so weren't really trying to spot if any others were similarly attired. Got quite a few compliments from both fellow passengers and crew members both nights. If it makes you happy, wear your tux!
  4. We're definitely interested, since we'll be on this same cruise September 11-18. Thanks a bunch!
  5. The upcoming HAL cruise I currently have booked is September 11 on the Westerdam 7-day Alaskan Explorer. I can still see it the HIA&M offer in my Navigator app (version 4.12.0) on both my Android phone and Android tablet, so perhaps it depends on if you're using an Android or an iPhone, or maybe it's only on certain cruises. Who knows, especially when HAL is involved. 😆
  6. I was poking on the Navigator app today (not on a cruise currently), and saw this under 'Dining & Drinks' then 'Wine, Cocktails and Bars': For anyone who can't see the screenshot, it states that guests with the HIA package can now apply the beverage package to any glass of wine or cocktail and only pay the difference in price if that drink's price surpasses the package price limit. Awesome news if it can be confirmed!
  7. We don't have 4 guests, we have 3: myself, my husband, and his mother. There was a pop-up offer on our postbooking webpage (where you go to book shore excursions, check in, etc) for the HIA package on our casino rate Alaska cruise in a Neptune Suite for $50 pp/pd. We called HAL, got the run-around that we couldn't add the HIA despite the pop-up offer, talked to a supervisor, still got denied. The very next day, I saw that another person here on CC that was able to get the HIA added to their casino rate cruise because of a change of policy on adding HIA to casino rate bookings, called back to our PCC, still had to talk to yet another supervisor, and finally was able to get it added with the explanation that a portion of the HIA (the Wifi portion) would only apply to guests 1 & 2: myself & my husband, which was (somewhat) listed in the HIA T&C. It cost us $45 pp/pd for each of our 3 guests: myself, my husband, and his mother. I am not at this time going to complain about not getting a single person's $100ish internet plan included when, on the whole, we're saving more than $2000 on the entire cruise and all of its accumulated add-ons. You may call it a special, non-standard plan, but it's what we were offered by a HAL supervisor and was close enough to what is delineated in the offer T&C to make us content. YMMV.
  8. Completely positive. We went round & round with HAL about this, our PCC spoke with a supervisor, and this is exactly how it's listed on our revised booking confirmation. Guests 3 & 4 will not get the Wifi portion of the HIA but they get everything else. If you look at the T&C on HAL's website under HIA, you'll even see that the Wifi portion specifically states, "Offer applies to guests 1 & 2 only in a stateroom." I know it makes absolutely no sense, but I guess they have to get those cutbacks in anywhere they can.
  9. We still had to pay $45 pp/pd for the HIA package for all 3 guests. But all of the other components of the HIA (shore ex discount, SBP, & specialty dining credit) were included for all 3 guests, just not the Wifi, which was only part of the HIA package for guests 1 & 2. So it's not quite as good of a deal for the 3rd/4th guest, but HAL didn't seem to see it that way.
  10. When hubby & I added HIA to our upcoming cruise in September with my MiL, the only thing that the 3rd person didn't receive was the Wifi portion of the package. No explanation as to why the 3rd or 4th guest cannot receive the Wifi portion when they get everything else.
  11. Well, the crossed fingers must have worked. We were allowed to add it this morning. 😁 Thank you very much for the heads-up about the change in policy, Andi! For everyone else on this thread who has been told 'no', keep trying until you get someone who says 'yes', especially if you see the banner ad. It seems like a lot of the PCCs/agents aren't up-to-date on this yet.
  12. Gah! We got this same HIA banner ad on our screen 2 days ago & immediately called about adding it. They told us they couldn't do it on our casino rate Alaska cruise coming up in September. Now I'm ticked and I guess hubby and/or I will be spending a bunch of time on hold with HAL trying to get someone that will add it for us. 😠
