  1. I was told around mid to late March they would be coming out. Mary is on it every single day except this week of course because she is cruising. I was planning to to the round trip seattle one some time mid/late July. Really though just have to wait and see when it comes out but Mary is ready for us all as soon as they do and I can promise you we will all be very happy.:D

@Amy- that's sounds great, looking forward to it!

Boy looks like I have some catching up to do.

DH and I are booking this cruise when we get holidays approved which won't be a problem just want to make sure they are set but we are on this cruise and doing the B2B very excited to meet you all.

    Kim

    @MikeNKim-welcome to the group!

  2. Ok N.F.L.'ers I have a tenative agreement for a hotel in FLL.

It is Hyatt Place, it is 91 SW 18th Avenue, Dania Beach, FL .http://fortlauderdaleairportsouth.place.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels-fortlauderdaleairportsouth-place/place/index.jsp?null

We are being offered a rate for Feb 1st to Feb 2nd and Feb 7th to Feb 8th.

    King Bed $179.00 + tax

Queen/Queen Bed $189.00 + tax (Queens may have up to 4 people in the room at this rate)

    Includes:

    · Transfers from the FLL airport to the hotel

    o

    Hot Breakfast

Transfers from the hotel to the Fort Lauderdale cruise port (Based in two people per room additional guests in room 8. each)

    FFree WiFi

Shuttle service within a three mile radius.

There is an extensive shopping plaza across the street Oakwood Plaza. There is a Millers Ale House there, A KMart, Job Lot, Old Navy I think, Dollar Store, BJ's Wholesale Club ( I am a member and there is a Liquor store inside)

The hotel prices in FLL are ALL very high. I have stayed at Hyatts before and I trust their cleanliness once you lay your head on the pillow and the quality of their product. There are some other hotels nearby that are a few (10) bucks cheaper, but I have also stayed at one of those and there is no comparison.

Also many FLL hotels are not not including complementary cruiseport transfer. As part of the group they are providing us with port transfer.

Please sign up below if you are interested in this hotel option. WE MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 8 ROOMS PER WEEK TO QUALIFY FOR THE GROUP RATE, OTHERWISE BEST AVAILABLE RATE PREVAILS.

Please do not book yet directly with the hotel we must get a group code and Im trying to get a feel for things first

Team NFL'ers trying to get our list growing as it seems that many of the hotels are selling out sooner than we would think as we are staying during the PEAK season.

Please add us to week one, king bed:)

  3. Tracey.....27 days girlfriend that would be a slice of heaven !!!!

The chocolate wine is Cocoa Divine or something like that.... Want me to bring some for your carry on allowance for you ? Remind me as we get closer and I will if you want. I have wine carriers for the airplane. They don't have the chocloate cherry anymore just the chocolate, BUT the hotel I am trying to get us is near a BJ's wholesale club and my BJ's here has chocolate wine too and we can all take a parade over to the BJ's and do our liquor buying there and not worry about travelling with it.

I haven't tried the choc wine only choc tequila when we were in Cozumel which was absolutely delicious:D I'll have to give it a try. My favorite is Barefoot White Zin!

  4. Hi Everyone,

My name is Tracey...my husband, John and I just booked this back to back today....we're sooooo excited.

We cruised with Amy and Austin (and the "gang") to Hawaii last year from San Diego (seems like a hundred years ago now).

We've been humming and hmmmmm-ing about this one for a long time now and today I said...that's enough we're just going to do it!!

Wish we were doing the back to back with you all this year...but without a lottery intervention, that's not going to happen.

Anyway...just wanted to introduce ourselves...I'll read through the posts over the next few days and be caught up.

We've missed you guys, so happy you're joining us:D

    @Amy

1 night pre-cruise is good for us too!

  5. Thanks for the info on the Rodeway Inn. Although technically we are FLL newbies, some time ago we had a quick stop in FLL and stayed at an Extended Stay America on 17 Street. It was awful but it was a long time ago.

I guess there's lots of time to score a good hotel but it's nice to have a head start with your suggestion.

    Tom

I think once Amy returns from her cruise and has a chance to recuperate from all the fun she will have some great suggestions or possibly a discount for a hotel group booking, for those of us interested that is. I know that's what we did for San Diego and it was great!

  6. I'm looking forward to meeting all the people I should have met last April on the Hawaii cruise. :) I'm finally getting to do a Hawaii cruise this September on the Miracle from Vancouver.

I love trivia and if you get a team going, I'd love to join in. It amazes me sometimes what bits of stuff I remember. I'm pretty good at movie and TV trivia.

That sounds good, I'm pretty good at tv trivia, books, anything food/cooking related. My DH is great with music trivia and sports.

  7. Robin--Ditto on the Lotto!! Reet, Jay ,Ernie and I are only on the 2nd half of the 2014 cruise, so if u have to cancel the first part you will be in good company as we board to meet thre rest of the Hawaii gang !!!:)

It'll be great! I really miss all my new cruising friends and can't wait to see ya all again.

We should try playing trivia, we love jeopardy, though we rarely get any of the answers, even the kids are smarter than us. Where do they find those brainiac kids, lol!!!

  8. Tom thats great that you have such a comfort level with visiting Mexico. There is never anything good in the news about how many people enojoy vacationing there, only the bad stuff makes news. Its nice to have someplace to go back to that you feel so comofortable with.

Austin and I head out on a cruise on Feb 1st wefly to Orlando and board the Dream for 14 days. Some Malihinis Dan and Kelly are coming with us as well as some other friends we cruised with before. Cant wait to get away from our cold and ice and snow either. Just trying to trudge through a sinus infeciton before we head out.

We also have another one booked for August 17th the Carnival Liberty. Nice itinerary and already have friends coming on that with us as well.

I will think of you as we are watching the Big Game on the Big Screen on the Dream on Sunday. Those numbers just have to land in the right spots for us...

Be well my friends. Give Helen our best and we will check in when we get back... 2014 just seems like so long to wait to visit with you both again. HUGS

I'll be thinking about you on that wonderful cruise GF, wishing I was there!

We may have to cancel the first leg of our b2b next year, hoping for the best. We will have to see where the dust settles financially, we had some unexpected expenses with the move and should have a better picture around the first of March. As expected our Europe cruise is turning out to be quite pricey with all the hotels, excursions, airfare etc. plus we have a trip to Disneyland with the grandkids planned for this summer. Also, we are on hold for the pricing re: a group cruise in 2014;) I need to win the Lotto.

Post lots of pics when you get back and have a great time:D

  9. Robin you are in an 8B we are in an 8A. Im not sure if you are allowed to go down a category or not you are always allowed to change comparable or increase the category. Maybe you are better off where you are though since you are DEFINITELY mid ship which is something I remember you wanting after the rocking and rolling ride of Hawaii.

I am now booked into cabin #6481, and I saved a total of $100! kathryn is submitting the ES form as we speak!

Thanks Amy for the suggestion, great idea! As far as rocking and rolling, I can buy a lot of Dramamine with a $100;):D

  10. Robin what category is your cabin ? you are just down the hall from us. Im telling ya you should look at the big balconies they were the same as the regular ones.

Amy: we are booked into a balcony cabin, upper deck. Shot an email to Kathryn inquiring about the larger balconies and switching. We booked ES so I don't know if we can make any changes or if there would be a charge to do so. We'll see what she says.

  11. AND......its double official we paid our deposit with SuziQ and we have the other HUUUUUGGGGGGEEEEEEEE balcony next to her and we are 6442.

Now for anyone else interested the other two HUGE balconies on our floor on the starboard side are still available... how sweet would it be if our group both got those too. NOTE: those balconies are the same price as all the other 8A balconies but twice the size. RESERVE EM QUICK NFL'ers ! and in the meantime GO COWBOYS !!!

We're in 6304, it's not the big balcony but we're on the same floor!

  12. Robin - my bad :o - I guess I didn't pay enough attention and your post made me realized that you live in Reno, one of my favorite places to visit!

I haven't been to Reno for a couple of years and I'm hoping to get a quick trip there maybe around September next year. I have two other "cruise family" friends who live in the area (one in Reno, one in Sparks). Last time I was there, we went to the Nugget for the Awful, Awful burger. :D

And congrats on the upcoming new grandbaby.

    Thanks!

The awful, awful...you haven't had a burger and fries till you eat one of those, our favorite!

If you come to Reno let me know, I love a girls night out! Hopefully we'll be here, cruising the Med. and British Isles Sept 2013

  13. We're still here!

Went Lake Tahoe yesterday, spent the night with family. Heading to the Rib cook-off in Sparks tonight then meeting up with family at Donner lake tomorrow for a day of fishing and picnic.

We've also been looking for a house to buy and a new grandbaby is due on the 7th....so very busy time for us:)

Take care everyone and have a great holiday weekend!

  14. Lucky you Robin...nothing like the feeling of saving on a cruise :D

I won't be on here to much for a while...Dad's in hospital and sis and I have to take turns sleeping over at their apt with Mom. She is 81 and can't be left alone. At the same time, we are trying to pack them up to move to "assisted living" on the first of Aug....Hopefully this situation doesn't mess up the move, because then they would be seperated, and that would most likely kill them both :(:(

Please..some happy thoughts for them from my cruise friends would be awesome :)

I'm so sorry to hear this. It's so difficult trying to deal with all those issues. Sending thoughts and prayers for healing and peace.

  15. Received an email from Kathryn today and I got a $64 price reduction for the feb 8 sailing!

So of course I realize that I give up the cc group amenities by doing this but since we are booked so far out there's a good chance the prices will drop further and I would rather pay less for the cruise than receive the small obc being offered so for me it's a great trade off, let the price reductions begin:D

  16. Glad to hear everyone is doing well (including all of your knees!!!) I had the pleasure of meeting Amy and Austin last week in NYC! We had a lovely lunch and spent some time getting to know each other a little better (in person!) before this sailing! Have a Happy Friday the 13th everyone! Beautiful day here in Southern Ontario! :)

OHHH I'm so jealous, you got to have lunch in NY and with Amy and Austin to show you the city! You must have had a great time, never a dull moment with Amy around. Some day I'll make it there too!
