  1. I would really appreciate a "critic" from the experts!

The "?" in our itinerary is where we could use your help! What else can/should we do?

Would appreciate help with timeline also! Thanks!

Note: We are 2 couples in our 50's and 60's. We are not good hiker because of mobility issues. Long rides and cramped seating are difficult with knee replacements! So we need to be able to get up and walk or stand for a few minutes. We do have our concerns about some of the things we have planned but hope we can do them!

    Day 1: Vancouver: Arrive 1pm - ? Then what?

Ferry to Victoria. Not sure what time we will catch the ferry?

Not sure what to do or see in Victoria in the evening?

    Stay at B&B

Day 2: Victoria: Butchart Gardens maybe Butterfly farm ?

Tour Victoria - Not sure what else there is to see! ?

Not sure where else to go! ?

Catch ferry back to Vancouver. Not sure what time?

Lodging in Vancouver is yet to be decided  ?

Day 3: Vancouver: Stanley Park and the Aquarium.

Board Celebrity Millennium - what is the best time?

    Day 4: At Sea

    Day 5: Ketchikan - ?

Day 6: Icy Strait Point - Whale watch

Day 7: Juneau - Whale watch, Mendenhall

    Day 8: Skagway - ?

    Day 9: Hubbard

    Day 10: Seward:

    Leave ship :(

SeaLife Center, Kayaking (for the mobile people ;) )

Renting a cottage for the night.

Day 11: Seward during the day then train to Anchorage

? Not sure what to do in the morning before our 10 am Kenai Fjords tour?

Train to Anchorage at 6pm, pick up rental car

    B&B lodging

    Day 12:Talkeetna

Drive to Talkeetna with stops along the way for snacks and food

for the next 6 days. Stop in Wasilla for this?

    Jetboat tour in Talkeetna

    B&B lodging

    Day 13: Talkeetna

    McKinley Flight Tour at 10am

    Denali Drama?

? Have no idea what else to do in this area

    B&B lodging Talkeetna

    Day 14: Denali

Drive to Denali and do the Visitors Center ? Maybe drive into Denali as far as we can go? Is this a waste of time? Will we see anything?

    Cabin Nite Dinner Theater?

Day 15: 6:30 shuttle bus to Wonderlake

    Nice dinner someplace?

    Day 16: Palmer

    B&B

    Matanuska Glacier Trek

Not sure what else to do here?

    Day 17: Anchorage

    Drive Turnagain Arm

Not sure what else to do?

    B&B

Day 18: All day in Anchorage - fly home at midnight

    What to do this day?

Thanks for your input (suggestions, corrections, advice)!!

  2. We don't have a massive north African/Middle Eastern population, but another thing to try (and there are a lot of options) is Indian food; lots of options in and around downtown. I am somewhat partial to India Gate for inexpensive and tasty Indian food. We go there a lot from work; is it Vindaloo Friday yet?

Thank you for your recommendations! I like them all! Now I have to choose which one! :)

  3. We missed the dungeness crab season by a couple of days on a cruise two years ago. I think the start date was June 15, so you may want check on the date for this year. We were looking forward to having it at The Office.

I hadn't thought the season started later than our trip :(

Oh well, King crab will do just fine! :)

  4. Tracy's is also right at the dock. We shared one King Crab leg and coleslaw between us for a late lunch (1 leg is $24 dollars). Very fresh crab and the one shared did fill up the two of us. Many people there were sharing buckets of multiple legs but it really depends how much you want to eat and pay. We had each eaten a whole large Dungeness crab the day before in Hoonah ($14 per crab).

Our 1st trip to Hoohah is coming up in a few months!

I wonder if you could give us directions to the place you ate at in Hoohah?

I have to have Dungeness crab on this trip! I've never had it fresh, only frozen.

  5. Thanks Shirley!

We have decided that we will either rent a car in Melbourne airport and drive to Cocoa Beach and stay 1 night in the hotel or take a taxi or shuttle from airport to hotel. Do the shuttles take you anywhere or just to the port? What Hotel would you recommend for a couple who isn't into public pools, bars, museums, or arcades but do like dolphins and ocean views? Free breakfast is not draw nor is cruise package because we will have a rental just for the 1 day. Free wifi is a huge plus! Thanks!

  6. I need some assistance! We (the two of us) fly into Melbourne Airport for our Cruise on the Dream. We will stay 1 night in a hotel before. I would love to hear your opinions on the least expensive way to do this. We would fly into MCO but it is $100+ more per person!

As far as hotel we would love to have an ocean view but it is hard to tell if you have an ocean view from many of the hotels not ON the beach. Any suggestions?
