DH has quit smoking but when we cruised on the Magic, he would like to sit aft Deck 11 (above the pool) and I would usually sit with him. Usually quiet and the smoke was surprisingly well under control. I agree with the spa suggestion though...so worth it...relaxing and calm and the heated loungers are worth every penny.

I really liked the lanai on deck 5, which stretches around both sides of the ship. Cloud 9 spa is particularly nice on Magic, so you may want to consider a spa pass for the week!
yes, definitely one of the nicer Carnival Spas.

Hello all...my brother and his family are cruising for Thanksgiving on the Fantasy...first time Disney cruisers. My SIL was wondering if they are currently serving meals in the kids clubs...any info much appreciated. 🙂

Thanks so much!!! Life would be easier (and healthier) if he would quit but until then...places to smoke are always in my research. Thanks so much for your trip report...great info!! The A/C makes me nervous (as a Floridian, I know how miserable it is without it this time of year), but you have inspired me to be positive and have faith this will be an amazing trip (we are on the July 9th sailing). I have cancer and am not currently winning the battle so we just want to do as much as we can while we can 😉

Thank you so very much for the pictures of the loungers on the promenade deck and the library. I see the chairs for smokers, with cushions. On the Equinox, they had wooden chairs with cushions for the smoking area, and the same, hard wooden chairs on the other side, with no cushions!, for the non-smokers. I see the library has some books. Appreciate your taking the time. Hope your cabin gets even cooler; we had to go through that on another brand's ship in April--kept working with them to get air, more air, more air.
Any idea what deck that is for the smokers? DH is a smoker and already not happy about no smoking in casino...I know there is an area outside of the Mastbar...wondering where those comfy chairs are...TIA

Yes, for adult diapers, you request a "red bag" that alerts the cabin steward to the bio-waste and they can sort it out properly. All garbage is hand sorted, and if you use a non-clear bag, they will likely tear it open to see what type of garbage it is.
Thanks so much!! I called the disability line and was able to make arrangements ahead of time for the bags so I appreciate the help. 🙂

when i was traveling with someone with similar special needs, we used our own plastic bags and then we put the bags in the trash can in the room
Thank you!! In my research I have also come across references to biohazard bags being provided but unsure if Carnival does this.

Did a search but unable to find an answer...I began cruising when young..ish...and still needed to use feminine products so I am aware of the special disposal bags on the ship. I would like to know how diapers are disposed of...do they provide a special bag and take them when cleaning or do you need to bring your own bags or???? Just to be clear while trying to be delicate...I am referring to adult diapers. I know there is a special needs page but I would like to know specifically for Carnival. TIA for any information.

I went on the Carnival site to see what drinks were offered since I heard the switched to Pepsi but it still brings up Coke products. Anyone care so share what they have? PS Stupid moved to change to Pepsi!
Cruel!!! I too hate the change 😞

I use Value to accomplish my "priorities"....outlook email, 2 websites that I check daily for free e-books, downloading books to my Kindle from the library, Amazon and the cloud. I was also able to use it for phone calls over wi-fi with the phone in airplane mode (on Carnival NOT NCL). I was unable to do any of this with Social.

We found a grocery store downtown. From the port it is a few streets back and a bit to the right. It is on Havenstraat Street.
Awesome!! Using your description, found it on Google Maps...Thanks so much!!!

We can’t stand Pepsi. So for our February cruise we brought a 12 pack of cokes on board. Then in Aruba we bought more cokes and brought them on board midweek. It was perfectly timed so that we always had our coke fix satisfied
I'd love to know where you found the Cokes in Aruba...thanks!! 🙂

we haven't cruises since early 2019 BUT I used to be able to get the wi-fi plan, put my phone in air mode, and was able to make calls over wifi (we have Android phones with Verizon). Since then I have read in reviews that passengers WERE and were NOT able to do so. I am interested as well.

Thanks so much for bringing us along...loved the pics and commentary!!! Have a safe trip home!!! Don't forget the sweatshirt...it's cold this morning. 🙂

I am blessed to live in FL close to 3 ports BUT I am always helping family with airfare to visit us. Recently the best has been Spirit. We prefer Southwest due the the luggage freedom but my step-son is here now and although the ticket down was best with Southwest, his trip home tomorrow was astronomical with anyone but Spirit, even with the luggage add on.

I love the spas on Carnival and NCL, especially during colder weather. I do lots of research before booking however as they can vary widely in quality. My observations were that the MG spa and the Havana area were sadly lacking when compared to other ships and I believe that space/attention went to the new high end area Loft 19. I was really shocked when I compared the Havana area with Horizon. Not that I can afford anything more than the spa area BUT I do love to obsessively research. 😉

They found a good home as a gift for someone who is going on the Paradise. 😀

DH is on quite a bit of prescription meds as well as supplements. Taking the original bottles would require another suitcase, 😉 We have always taken his weekly organizer, with rubber bands around just in case, and take an extra week, again just in case. We haven't cruised since I was diagnosed and went into treatment for cancer so now we will have to do the same thing for me...ah, aging is so fun 🤪
RE Coke...believe it or not, I actually wrote to them lamenting Carnival's change...I am hooked on Coke 0 and we used to get bottomless bubbles. I assume it has to be the cost...Sam's has switched their snack area to all Pepsi products all the time as well. We each carry on a 12 pack of canned coke (it HAS TO BE CANS).
Have a wonderful cruise!!! Definitely jealous but looking forward to one we have planned for early next year.

I just wanted to add that I recently discovered these (very similar to what hospitals use now), and they are really superior to chucks. Medline - MSC303625 Extrasorbs Drypad Underpads Air Permeable 30 x 36 inches (Pack of 25)

I am in a group that has a lot of Carnival newbies really excited to go on their first cruise. The excitement is infectious for sure!! I was going through some pics today and found some from a 2005 cruise on the Triumph...my DH and mother's first cruise. We had been discussing the midnight buffet and whether it still existed (some said yes so I'm assuming they are thinking of the tacos??? I haven't made it to midnight in years, LOL). Anyway, had a few pics so had to upload and share....not the greatest photographer but still you can see how spectacular it was. 🙂

Agreed...I do prefer some of the NCL spas but the Magic is my favorite on Carnival.
