  1. It's official I have 11 people set to meet me a Ballydoyle's (an Irish Pub) in downtown Downers Grove on September 18th at 6PM!!! Weeeee. If there is anyone else on the boards from the Chicago area who wants to join us please let me know so I can add you to the email list and keep you up to date on the details. hilljcolby at gmail dot com.

I can't remeber who said it on the other board but I really do miss doing the document dance but I did do a lil boogie woogie when I printed my set sail pass.

I also want folks to know I love Kareokee and will sing solo, in a group, sober or otherwise, you will know where to find me and I have a strong ear for music so you ladies pick it and I am in!!

Loved the friends in the computer post, my CC, pogo and FB folks are my lifeline!!

82 days woo hoo, of course I leave in 80 OMG, LOL. Ok, that shows my youth, Oh my god, luaghing out loud, he he he.

HILLARY.....That was my comment about the good old days when the docs came in the mail and we all did the Doc Dance. Loved those days! But I still do a happy dance when I print out my Sea Pass.....:D And when I'm old and gray, I'll be twirling my cane around when I print it out.....LOL!!!

Add one more vote for someone who is not impressed with Ken Rush. He was the CD on our very first cruise back in '94--he was very full of himself even back then!

  2. Bring back Karen Maybury as CD

Karen Maybury did not impress me. She is a lovely gal, but not a dynamic personality....JMHO....:) Did any of you every have Jeff Arpin as a CD?? It's been many years, but he was an absolute stand out! He was a true comedian, with personality up the ying yang.

We've been away in Manchester staying with our son, DIL and GD this weekend. Now Beth is fast asleep and our DIL has gone off to work a night shift as a Paediatric nurse. We have had a lovely time with them and hope to see them once more in October before our 6 week trip away.

Tomorrow we have a 200 mile drive home, all busy roads. One job for this week is to get round to the Set Sail Pass. You all seem to be way ahead of us.

    Corinne

So glad you had a great w/e with Beth (and her parents, too, of course.) Have a safe drive home!!

  3. We'll be boarding with $700 OBC! $250 from shareholder credit, another $50 from TA, and $400 from Royal Caribbean VISA reward points. Hopefully that will keep our onboard account to a minimum, since we've prepaid gratuities and most of our excursions are being done through independent tours.

    Jo-Ann

JO-ANN....That is an amazing amount of OBC!! I'm sure you will have fun spending it....:)

Just popping in to say hello and goodbye as we are leaving shortly for our family cruise to the Norwegian Fjords. Family from Israel have all arrived safely and it was wonderful to be with all my grandchildren at once - a first for us!

They're a noisy bunch, so I think I may invest in some ear plugs!!

    Back next Sunday. Be good!!

    MARILYN.....Have a wonderful time!!!

  4. How did it happen, easy, we came out of the bar (where we had already eaten earlier I might add) and my ex-colleague decided she wanted food and MacDonalds is immediately opposite the bar and so in we went!

LOL, OK that makes sense. So I did get online with RCCL and checked in and printed out the Set Sail Pass. Previously I attempted it in Firefox with no success. As soon as I tried in Explorer, went right through, no problems. Go figure....

  5. Quick good morning from very wet Macnhester. Off out to breakfast in a minute. Beth is gorgeous, a very happy little girl, but of course, I am a bit biased.

Hope all went OK yesterday Peter, I was thinking about how you must be feeling.

    Corinne

CORINNE.....Enjoy every minute with Beth. Grandchildren are the BEST!

Good Morning everyone. A little slow today as there was a 'farewell' celebration last night. I can't believe we ended up in line in MacDonalds for a burger!

Anyway, 12 weeks today and we'll be heading to the port to embark on this adventure! Actually looking at the time, will hopefully be on board by now!

PETER.....I checked out your send off pics on FB. But McDonalds?? How did that happen??

OK, so I tried to do my online check in and the RCCL website must be on overload right now because it wouldn't let me in. Will try again later.....:)

  6. Karen that is always the best feeling, knowing the cruise is fully paid except for those onboard charges.

    Gay

I couldn't agree more! We'll be getting on the ship with $250 OBC from our shareholders benefits, but it'll be spent in a blink--alcohol, specialty restaurant(s), spa, oh the list could go on and on. Like most people, we try to pay for as much up front as possible so the sticker shock on our Visa card isn't too bad when we get home....;)

  7. I may have to post a lot more than I have done over the last 12months to help out. You all know Peter very well but not so much me. Then again am sure Peter can manage a few more per day now he has time on his hands;)

Hi Patrick! Nice to see you post....it's been ages since you checked in with us. BUT, I have no doubt that Peter keeps you up to date with all of our shenanigans here.....;):D

SHERRY.....How did the shopping trip with Ashley go?

  8. I managed a 1.5 lb loss today. I was a little aggreived last week to gain 0.5 and so losing 1 lb over the 2 weeks is about right. As we are off to Manchester tomorrow (away for 4 days) to see the family, it will be tough to stick to the programme but I would rather hug Beth than lose a pound. ;)

    Corinne

CORINNE....Congrats on your WW progress!!! I've been holding my own recently, and my new temporary goal will be to try to lose a few extra lbs before we leave on Oct. 10th. Congrats on making Blue Ribbon status!!:)

    Morning/afternoon everyone!

  9. PETER....I'm so sorry to hear your news. I know it was not unexpected, but it's still a blow.

MARILYN.....It was so good chatting with you the other evening. Have an absolutely wonderful family cruise. You will be making memories to last a lifetime.

DONNA....David purchased a PacSafe money belt for this trip, and I got the PacSafe Metro 100 bag. I'm still debating on whether I want to get a larger PacSafe bag as well. In deciding between the money belt or the neck wallet, I think it comes down to personal preference. When used correctly, I think either will work just as well.

SHERRY.....You are too funny! Believe me, if you WERE pregnant, that's one baby shower I'd fly out west to attend.....;):D

  10. Found you!!! ,,, But I'm worried about my

92 Bottles of Rum still on the Wall,,

Hope it finds it way over here..

OMG, that is so funny. Musn't loose sight of priorities, I always say.....;):D

Karen I read on our thread that has now disappeared that you were thinking of booking an inside cabin on the Eclipse. We have done the same for this 7 nighter we booked after the LOS. We have booked cabin 3172...we saw it on our Equinox cabin crawl and thought it look great' date=' very spacious and well laid out and the couple occupying it just loved it...check out the deck plan and see what you think...we are really looking forward to it (and I'm usually a balcony girl by choice)

Sherry, we can just fit in with your plans, we're retired

    Happy birthday Hillary

    Sue [/size']

SUE.....Thank you for this information. MARILYN and I spoke the other day after she read my post and also gave me great info about the Eclipse. We are planning to book it while we're on the Liberty. Initially we will book an inside cabin because this is a very pricey cruise (14-nights in February!) and if prices go down at a later date I will try to upgrade us to at least a window cabin.....would love a balcony, but it may be out of our reach.

JOYCE.....OH NO!! I'm so sorry to learn this about Jerry's job. There's just been too much bad news lately, and I'm sending you and Jerry lots of positive energy and I hope you will just take deep breaths--breathe in and breathe out. And I hope the storm turns out to sea. I hate to think of all my FL friends in harms way.

GAY....Sending positive thoughts and energy your way too for your friends.

Looks like one by one everyone is finding our new home.

  11. I love whoever is taking care of me on any given ship at any given time. However, on our 10-nt Radiance cruise last March, Arthur (waiter) and his assistant waiter Micheline, were outstanding. We had MTD and reserved with them every evening (with the exception of Chops/Portofino). They made an already great cruise experience even better.

  12. Exactly why I took this picture. I would hate to be in that section of the ship no matter which deck. Were were in 8088 when I took it and booked the hump again, leaving again on her in 3 days, woohoo!

    BonVoyage

    Dawna

Loved that cabin!! We were in 8088 in March on Radiance and thought the balcony was wonderful--2 lounge chairs, 3 regular chairs and a table. Our friends were in an Owner's Suite, and our balcony was bigger than theirs'....;):D

  13. Just back from our MexRiv cruise which included a stop in Acapulco. We booked our tour (we were 7 on our tour) with Rudy last October. Every correspondence from the very first inquiry was handled wonderfully by Rudy himself. We made our plans for our day in Acapulco and Rudy delivered. His tourguide for our group, Jose, met us at the pier and outlined our day in Acapulco. We saw all the highlights, including the cliff divers, and lunch at a lovely cafe on the beach. Jose was an excellent guide, full of information, and made our day perfect. Rudy himself met us at several points along the way to make sure we were happy and satisfied with our day. He does a great job!!!

I am so grateful that we found out about Rudy's company on these boards. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to have a wonderful day in Acapulco.

    Karen

  14. GUMBALLZ.....Thank you so much for posting your review of the tour with Rudy in Acapulco. I was already feeling really good about booking with him for our trip there in March, but after reading your excellent review, I am even more excited. This is exactly what we wanted and I know we'll have a great time on our tour of ACA w/Rudy. Thanks again for taking the time to post back about it, and I hope all of your cruise was excellent!

    Karen

  15. I'll be touring with Rudy from Tour by Van next week! I know there are quite a few people wondering different things about him and/or his tours. Is there anything in particular you'd like me to find out while I'm there? I'm not going to grill the man, but I'll be happy to observe things (within reason, of course).

Just have a wonderful time in Acapulco and tell Rudy we're looking forward to see him in March! I'll look for your "review" when you get back. Have a wonderful cruise!!

  16. Love, love, love Key Lime Pie. Actually, I love, love, love Key West---ergo my loggin name.:D

I have eaten Key Lime Pie probably at every restaurant I've ever been to in Key West, and my favorite is Blond Giraffe. The pie is excellent, but the BEST treat is the frozen chocolate covered KL pie on a stick!!! Ah, pure pleasure!

It's an easy walk from the ship. Just go straight down Duval Street and it'll be on your left (about 1/2 mile).

    I'll be there in October!!

    Karen
