Good morning everyone. Yesterday I resolved my email issues but not sure I wasn’t, scammed. I followed all google instructions and used a second method of verification to retrieve my account and entered the code I was given. I was told my account would be restored in 48 hours. Well, 5=days went by and there is no phone number for Google. When I found a number it was for a web based company that took control of my computer and said I was hacked by someone from Canada. They spent two hours and restored my account on my phone, desktop and iPad. It cost me about $169 and everything is back. I changed my bank password and a few others and am praying the company was legit. Our outdoor pool is supposed to open today but if it rains that won’t happen. Good morning everyone. I just ordered sunscreen yesterday. I’m allergic to many brands. I don’t like to fry anything but the aide does and has set off the smoke alarm at least 5 times. Love the quote. I’m off to the Opthomologist this am and then getting ready for the pool opening tomorrow. Good afternoon everyone. I was sure I had posted this morning but now that I see the days to celebrate I realize I didn't. Last night we watched our grandson compete with the 10 other finalists in the coding contest for Philadelphia. his project was fgood, but not judged good enough to win the big prize but we're still very proud of him It's been a rough few days here. I have no gmail. I've tried calling them but there is NO phone number. I was sent a code through a second way of verification and put it in and was told my email will be up again in 48 hours but its way past that. Then, Sam lost his wallet with all his insurance cards, ID, credit card, etc. We spent all day yesterday trying to notify everyone and then this AM the aide found it. He had taken it into a supermarket, took it out of his pocket and transferred it to another pant's pocket. I got a letter from an insurance company that will pay some towards the aides but now they want EOBs from the long term care company. Thought I had saved all of them but didn't. I have to file with this company in order to collect from his major medical policy. They make it so hard. I'm exhausted just trying to keep up with everything. Today the podiatrist and tomorrow the eye doctor and I'm heading for cateract surgery in the fall. Stay safe everyone, Carol

Good morning everyone. Horrible news from Texas. We should have done something about these mass school shootings after Columbine and Sandy Hook. It's so sad and no place is safe anymore. Not schools, shopping malls, movie theaters, churches or sunagogues. Today is brown bag day, but they have b een outlawed in new jersey. Who knows what is wrong in my house with the computers? I finally got me email back this moroning, but only on my phone. My ipad didnt work for my facetime with my MD and so I tried Sam's and ditto. No email on my destop or ipad. I'm not good with all the new technology. On the bright side, our 16 year old grandson is competing in Philadelphia today in a coding contest. he is one of 10 finalists out of 100 schools full of kids who participated. He built a website from scratch and will be giving a 5 minute presentation and we have a link to view it. First and second prizes are lots of money and it is sponcered by Dell and Boeing. He also has a patent pending on an app that should be out and for sale for $1 soon. So proud of him. Stay safe everyone, Carol

Good morning everyone. Thankfully the heat spell has broken and today will be a lovely 70 degrees. Nothing much going on here except after Sam bought some new bushes for the patio the handyman planted them. Today I have a support group for caregivers that comes by zoom from Princeton. Many of these people have been caring for a spouse for lots of years. It makes me feel lucky that Sam is not as impaired as most of them. Stay safe everyone, Carol

Good morning everyone. I’ve been anxiously awaiting June and summer, but did not expect a May Day to reach 96. Once again I was inside binging on The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix. I read the book a long time ago. Jacqui, so sorry your friend was so insensitive. Some people just don’t know what to say and wind up saying such hurtful things. I find it hard she really thinks what she voiced. Terri, so sorry you are not feeling well. Looks like now the US is dealing with monkey pox. Good morning everyone. Great collection of days. There is now a shortage of waiters and waitresses so we need to treat them with respect even when service is slow. A shout out to all who serve in the armed forces. Temps today are going to be 96. Last night our smoke detectors went off because running a humidifier in the bedroom for many years somehow made heat land in one of them. We had to call the fire department at 1am because they are new detectors and had no battery to remove. Happy cruising to all who are about to depart and prayers for all on our prayer list. Good morning everyone. Oh to be a millionaire. I guess I could have biked to work when Inworked out of our home. Our son actually does bike from his home to the hospital where he works. Yesterday our handyman was here and he did a long list of things Sam had for him. He’s sup.posed to come back today not finish up which is great because neither Sam nor I can do all the heavy lifting anymore. Getting my hair cut in the house this am and then it’s off to PT. Good morning everyone. I realize I never got here yesterday. T he day started with me taking pictures of my neighbors garbage pails. Since they never pick up both of our pails, Sam was sitting in the garage waiting for them. The office told me to put a sign on one saying trash so instead of emptying it they threw it in the truck as garbage. Thankfully Sam was there and got it back. Today the local high school chorus is supposed to come here but it is being canceled because covid rates are rising in the state and in our town. My 16 year old grandson is back to remote learning. Last night we went to our club house to hear an author who wrote a book about the Catskills Hotels in the day, but we had a terrible storm and she turned off the turnpike and never showed up even though most of us did. We were lucky in that the predicted tornado , hail, and heavy rain never came. Today will be sunny and almost 80. Mask mandates inside are back in NY and most of NJ so here we go again. Good morning everyone. The temps are warming up but rain is predicted for today and the weekend. Now that my desk and the surrounding are are free from papers after the clean up and throw out yesterday, I have room to get to the computer. I don’t think anyone should blame anyone else for anything. We should all take responsibility for our actions. I love the quote from John Lennon.Just imagine. Sam actually scanned our wills, health care directives and POA documents into the computer and they are saved in folders so I can access them if needed. I can even get them on my phone.

I made funeral plans for both of us but did not pay in advance. But, at least I know what I want and how much it will cost. A lot. Not sure if we need to redo our wills. But we do have POA and living wills and health care directives. I've even had to write to some health care insurance companies to get permission to speak on Sam's behalf. Hippa rules.

Good afternoon everyone. I spent three hours with an organizer and we cleaner out tons of papers from files that should have been shredded years ago. it feels great. She will be coming back because I have loads more to do. The June we cruised to Alaska there was a heat wave and every day was over 90 degrees. The people who came from FLorida to escape the heat were not happy. Up on the glaciers we still needed some warm weather clothing. We went dog sledding out of Juneau and it was the best excursion we ever took. Stay safe everyone, Carol

GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYONE.Today has started out lousy. First for the third week in a row, the garbage men did not take one of our pails. The board is fighting them because they say their contract says one pail per household so I went around, per our office request and took pictures of our neighbors’ many emptied pails. Finally, through so pressure from the board they came and took the pails. Then I waited on hold for 45 minutes to call the billing department of a rehab place Sam went to. They never billed our secondary insurance. Then several phone calls to make appointments for Sam where some people callled back and I’m still waiting for others. At noon, I had my breakfast. Wow, that's a lot of money. I think almost $5 in New Jersey is a lot but I know my grandson in California is paying much more. As far as those knees, my PT said most of us with issues tend to be very stiff in the morning, I have to sit and stretch out my back when I first wake up so my right foot doesnt go numb and I land on the floor.
