Thanks for your kind words and yes, we had an amazing cruise. I would like to go back in the Fall sometime to see the Northern lights.
I have added the pictures from our day in Haugesund. I think I see you sitting in the long house.

Becky, I am late and the party is over. I just became aware of your wonderful reporting. It was great reliving the cruise through your eyes ( pen and camera). Your writing skills are top drawer and so is your camera work.
I have never written any reviews but I do take a lot of pictures and sometimes post them on you tube.
Here is a link to some I have put up a few days ago.

I will add more later.

Hi Bob,
I have been away from the boards for a while. I see you have set sail and having a great time. One of these days I have to do that LA to LA cruise you are on. Enjoy the rest of the cruise. I will check in to see what you are up to.

Joining you late Bob. Looks like you are having a great time as always. Enjoy the rest of the cruise. We will be seeing the canal in November.
-
Had a look at your pics Bob. That was a fabulous cabin you had on the CB. One of these days I will have to try that kind of luxury. :)
-
Looks like it was a great cruise Bob. Welcome back. When you get your pictures up I will certainly enjoy them. I love the ports on this cruise.
-
Bob, hope you and Holli have a wonderful trip. It was a long time coming but it's here now. So enjoy.

I found this 'no crown for 2017' non roll call :) and can't believe the loyal following. Princess has to be happy about fans like this.
I am glad things worked out and your wishes have come true. And I am coming along with you. Can't go wrong with a bunch like you guys.

You are too kind and conscientious. You know you are not getting paid overtime for all this extra work. :)Just wanted to let everyone that I threw a number of pictures up on my Flickr page. There are still many more pictures to upload, patters to scan & upload, and add all the associated tags......:):):)Bob[/i
I have looked at your pics of London and Paris. Looking forward to the ones from Iceland.

Enjoy your last day on board Bob. So sad when a cruise comes to an end but I'm glad you had a great time. I will look for your pictures when you put them up on Flickr.
We did that route once and it was awesome for us. We did get into Greenland. Looks like they have cut out the Greenland portion. The weather was often responsible for skipped ports.
-
Looks like you are off to a great cruise Bob. We did this northern route on the Crown back in 2009. It is a great way to get across the Atlantic. But the weather is often hit an miss. Hope you get some smoother seas. I also hope you get to see the northern lights.

We just got home and I agree, everything was great. No Sabatini's for us, but buffet served us well. Too well. ;) This cruise was just enough to tide us over until our next one at the end of May.
Carolyn: sorry we didn't run into you. I only managed to meet one person from the roll call and most likely because we spent most of our leisure time on the balcony. Good that your OBC got straightened out. We fortunately had all of ours with no problem.
Pia, I wish we knew you were on the ship. We missed a chance to see you and Mike. Hope Mike is doing well. We should be in touch more often.

Thanks for posting these. Awesome makeover in just 3 weeks. I am looking forward to sailing on her in October.
-
You are too funny David. ;) I hope you can "join" us on the Ocean in a few weeks. :D
I wish I could. I would love to visit those ports.
When I retire I will cruise with you and be your sidekick.

I didn't realize your ship had sailed. I am not with it.
And a Big WOW! 75 cruises, Most Travelled and on and on. I am glad I know you. Something to brag about. :)
Take good care of Mike.

Thank you all for your kind wishes and prayers. Cornea is healing well and retina surgery is scheduled for Monday morning. We don't waste time around here. No guarantees from anybody, but we have the Chief of Staff doing it.
Karen: Yes, we do take cruise insurance and claim has already begun
Carolyn: Thanks for the offer. Appreciate it. We will be spending Sunday and Monday nights at Springhill Suites near the hospital, so as not to make that horrendous drive back and forth down I-95.
Pia, sorry to hear about Mike's eye. Must be the same eye that flared up last year when you were in Orlando. I hope the surgery will give him some long lasting solution to the problem. Hoping for the best outcome,
Dave.

Great! Thank you. Yes, it was free on the Emerald in 2012. It was an "activity" listed in the Patter. We really enjoyed it. Had no idea that the back of the theatre went from deck 5 to deck 10.
I have been on 3 transatlantics where there was a free back stage tour. It was always interesting. You get to meet a lot of production staff and performers and see all the back stage contraptions, racks of costumes, changing areas, make up desks, etc. This time on the Royal, the girl in charge of the production who was also a dancer happened to be from a neighboring town and her mom worked in my town - small world.
Towards the end of the video about 18:34 minutes in are a few shots from the back stage tour.

Pia and Mike, have another fun cruise.
When you get off we will be getting on. Too bad we didn't coordinate so we could see you again.
-
You got some really neat night shots of the Sea Walk. Don't be self conscious about your tripod. The end justifies the means.

Little Miss Magician, your pictures have constantly improved. I looked at some of your earlier reviews and this is the best. I don't think it's just the camera. You have gotten better. And yes, a nice fast lens with a wide constant aperture does make a difference.
I have 2 single focal length lenses that I resort to when the light is less than optimum, one is a f1.4 and the other f1.8. They are also quite useful when I want to blur out a background.
(I know your screen name is littlemissmagic and that you are, but you are also a little magician)
Thanks for the tour Victouria. :)

We decided to try out the deck 7 sun chairs. What I really like about the Royal Princess is that deck 7 has an uncovered sun deck. While it would be a lot cooler if it wrapped around, it's fun to be able to be in the sun on such a low deck. And the wind is much better down there, too.

Many don't realize how much sun there is on deck 7. That's an advantage on the Royal often overlooked. Most promenade decks on other ships are in the shade and not very wide.

You posted this a month ago and I Finally opened it.....what a great presentation!
Loved it and am really excited to get on board.
I am glad you finally decided to open it. Lots of people when they see it's youtube never bother to open it.
I hope others take the gamble. :)
-
Thank you! Also, your review of the Royal Princess is one which convinced me to book it!
I am glad you chose the Royal when you could have chosen any other ship. You are a good match - her beauty and your ability to capture it. :)
Princess Keys is a nice little stop for a relaxing day and your camera didn't miss anything. Cute pic of your family hauling in that shark. You have a nice family. Such a fun dad and a mom willing to put up with all the family antics. :)

You are very good with a camera. I am enjoying your review.

Bob I looked in a bit when you started the cruise but only now checked back to discover that the most unwelcomed visitor showed its ugly head to ruin the last part of your cruise. Really sorry it wasn't all smooth sailing on your first venture back to sea since Covid began in 2020.
Glad to hear you are doing better.
We have a lot of cruises planned one this year and 3 next year. I am hoping Covid stays away.
