  1. We are on the Alaska Inner Passage itinerary doing a round trip from Vancouver. Typically when we cruise, we stay an extra day on the back end but we do not have that luxury this time. The flight times for us are either 8:50 am or 3:00 pm. Has anyone ever tried to make an 8:50 am flight that same day you disembark? Is this even realistic?

    TIA

I can see how easy that mistake could be made in the current climate. For our entire Silhouette cruise last week, they just kept writing down room numbers instead of swiping cards. It appears that they are going hands free on the cards. It is real easy for someone to say the wrong cabin (either intentional or not) or the bartender to type in the wrong number. Be patient, it will get resolved.

They basically told me that's it and if I want my money back fight the credit card.

Another reason to use a TA.  Had a charge for a specialty restaurant added after I looked at my bill.  Obviously charged to the wrong room.  Email a copy of my bill noting the incorrect charge to my TA.  A couple weeks later received a credit on my credit card.

If you booked with Celebrity simply email AND mail copies of the statement along with a concise explanation to customer service.   It will take a while, but will happen.  A phone call is pretty useless as the Celebrity agent is not likely to be able to see the documents.

FWIW I always get a print out late last night.

I did get a statement the night before. It wasn't on there. As I said, they added it there morning we left. And I did email my Celebrity agent. I was told they can only help with booking before the cruise. Anything after the cruise they cannot help.

You said you didn’t order it. Was it in your room ?  Did you drink it?  Just curious.

It was nowhere. Just showed up on my statement.  I think the bar put it on my tab. But it was for another person. All they could produce was their own slip, nothing signed by us.

  5. Thank you Celebrity for charging me for a bottle of wine I did not order, adding it to my room and billing my credit card the morning of disembarkation. I did check my bill before I went to bed on the last night and it wasn't there. After multiple phone calls and an email to my Celebrity agent, you still won't remove the charge. Guess that $118 was more important than me going on future cruises.

  6. We are 19 people on the Nov 20th Apex sailing.  As we are celebrity a family event, we would like to have one dinner be special. Just wondering what others have done previously? Just booked at a specialty restaurant?  If so, which one would be good with children ages 10 - 18? Or worked with a specific restaurant to modify the menu? Or anything I'm not thinking of?

    TIA.

  7. We have booked the June 20th sailing on the Apex and are between two S3 Sky Suite options - 7198 and 11160.  Since the Apex has not yet sailed, we only have the Edge reviews to compare.  And frankly, the reviews on 11160 are not that positive.  It seems the Magic Carpet railing is very obtrusive on the balcony.  Also, the connecting cabin door for 11160 seems to be in the room where 7198 is in an alcove.  But what is really important to my wife is that the bed faces the balcony / ocean which is shown on the website.  When I look at pictures from 11160 on the Edge it seems that is not the case.  Does anyone know if the configuration of the Apex will be the same as the Edge or any other feedback on 7198 vs 11160?

    TIA.

  8. So actually I have one more question on this.  I was told now drinks are subject to an additional 22 - 24% VAT in addition to the cost of the drink plus 15% gratuity.  So that $9.50 glass of wine is actually $13.21 (9.50 + 1.43 + 2.28).  But if you get a drink package you are exempt from VAT.  Has anyone confirmed this is true?

  9. We are traveling on the Wind Surf on August 4th.  I am trying to decide if I should get the beverage package or pay a la carte.  I did a search and found menus / prices from 2010 but does anyone have anything more recent that would show the prices of beer and cocktails?

Also, my wife doesn't really drink but occassionally may share a fruit-based frozen drink.  How strict are they if only I purchase the package?

  10. My extended family (20 of us) will be on the June 9th Allure sailing.  Two of the families - 4 adults and 5 kids (15, 13, 10 and 7s) - would like to do one of the dolphin encounters.  However, there seem to be multiple encounters listed as possible excursions.  Has anyone had any experience with one vs the other or any recommendations / opinions either way?

    Thank you in advance.
