That is what Princess is calling a premium dessert? I was thinking it would be some kind of super decadent cake or pastries, not a sunday with candy stuck in it.

There are a couple of cakes too, one chocolate and I can't remember what the other was.  They were huge slices, probably enough for 4 people.  I didn't try them.

I ordered the one with the key lime pie & said hold everything except the pie. They gave me a few cubes of pie in the sundae glass

I think it was the best dessert I had that trip! I'm sure my waistline appreciated I only got that little piece 🙂 On the candy, when I was standing in line, a man came up and asked for just the candy, so I it seems there's appeal for everyone, just different things appeal to different people.  The counterman gave him some.

  3. I got the one with the key lime pie bar in it on my last cruise.  I key lime pie was the best part, I was tempted to order another one later on and just eat that.  I was told I could have either one of the sundaes, cake or plain scoops of either chocolate or vanilla included with my package.  I asked if I could have the sugar free and they said yes.  This was on the Discovery.

  4. When I asked on the Discovery 3 weeks ago if I could just get gelato if I had the package, I was told I could only have either vanilla or chocolate, none of the other flavors.  I figured it was because the sundaes are only made with either vanilla or chocolate, so they had more quantities of these.  Sounds like there are no set guidelines for the employees, it just depends on who's working as to what you will be told.

  5. Another thing I remember from our cruise in May were the sweet potato and black bean tacos available at the grill by the pool.  I think they came with cheese, but you could ask for them without.  I am going to check on them, we leave tomorrow!  I take a few items with me when I don't have to fly because I watch my sugars - my own salad dressing, sugar free jam, sugar free coffee flavoring, and sugar free chocolate since I've never really cared for cruise ship desserts.  Stevia extract sure has helped me.  I have a late afternoon spa service on boarding day, so I will be trying room service first.  Looking forward to trying the new menus and I really appreciate this thread.  Thank you so much for posting the menus and your opinions  I like soup, I hope I have better luck with those.

Vegan chili and fries sounds really good. How was the veggie burger and the hummus? Thank you!

We should all start requesting Dole Whip.  I just had some at the Bellagio buffet and it was delicious. I love that stuff!

Unless they've changed the veggie burger since my last cruise in May, it's the worst thing I've ever eaten on a cruise ship.  It's basically a mashed potato patty with some other chopped vegetables in it, and it's always been cold.  I asked about a Boca or other similar burger and they didn't carry them.  I doubt if they'll ever get "official" Dole Whip since it's a branded product, maybe some shipboard version, or I think they have sorbet at the gelato station, I'll be looking for it on my cruise (leave on the 4th).  It's just pineapple sorbet, put through a soft serve machine.

  7. I haven't been directed to a dressing room since cruises started after the pandemic, it's always change in the treatment room.  What I do is scout out the staircase that comes down/up by the spa, change in my room into robe and slippers and then go up and down that staircase.  I hate getting the massage oil on my personal clothing.

Broccoli salad was great, didn't have the soup, the penne was delicious, the portobellos really good.

Another night they had a mushroom bourgignon (sp?) over mashed potatoes. Really good! Also a veggie lasagna which was pretty good.

The winner of them all was the veggie shepherd's pie! Oh and the marinated tofu salad - they did a great job on the marinade.

YUM 🙂  I will plan on going to the dining room just to try the menu.  I hope they have some selections on the buffet too as I'm traveling solo this time and I usually don't go to the dining room when I travel alone.  Maybe they can give me to go!

I don't know about a sandwich making station, but I recall the Discovery had plenty of things to make sandwiches with. I'll be on her two weeks from tomorrow and plan to check it out. We'll see how "cheffy" I become.

The November 4th one?  I will be too 🙂  I will miss my caprese sandwich if I can't find one, I'll have to get one in port somewhere!

I see the veggie burger is free.  Totally disagree with that.  They should pay us to eat that thing.

I had to laugh at this.  My first meal on a Princess ship was upon boarding, ordering a veggie burger.  On other lines, it;s a Gardenburger or Boca burger type burger.  Imagine my surprise when I got a cold mashed potato and pea patty.  It was and still is the worst thing I have ever been served on a cruise ship AND they haven't changed it.  Ordered on in the dining room on our last trip just to see, yep, still cold potatoes and weirdly mashed other veggies, cold on a bun.

Not a spa expert, and I've never booked an embarkation day treatment, but I've had the email that you are talking about.  I did notice that you could see the discount (before purchasing) if you selected a treatment and a time on embarkation day.

This.  When you select the treatment, it shows you the various prices for the days and times of your cruise.  Sea days are always more pricy than shore days and embarkation day can have a nice discount.  I booked a massage for embarkation evening for the first time for my upcoming cruise because it was about $50 cheaper than the next day.

  12. I like the caprese sandwich, also the watermelon and feta salad.  They used to have a "croissant of the day", but last time I cruised, they didn't vary them that often.  I get Americanos and bring my own flavorings.
