  1. I've seen pajamas in line to get on cruises, flights, in the grocery store, just about everywhere. I thought it was odd the first time, but I've gotten used to it and figured it was a matter of comfort. I've seen people in line at Starbuck's in their fuzzy slippers 🙂 I have passed through the buffet to get drinks in my robe after a spa appointment and people sometimes wear their robes in from the pool. I've also gone up to the coffee station very early (4:30 to 5:00 am) in the morning in my robe.
  2. There are a couple of cakes too, one chocolate and I can't remember what the other was. They were huge slices, probably enough for 4 people. I didn't try them.
  3. I think it was the best dessert I had that trip! I'm sure my waistline appreciated I only got that little piece 🙂 On the candy, when I was standing in line, a man came up and asked for just the candy, so I it seems there's appeal for everyone, just different things appeal to different people. The counterman gave him some.
  4. I got the one with the key lime pie bar in it on my last cruise. I key lime pie was the best part, I was tempted to order another one later on and just eat that. I was told I could have either one of the sundaes, cake or plain scoops of either chocolate or vanilla included with my package. I asked if I could have the sugar free and they said yes. This was on the Discovery.
  5. I wear ear plugs. Went on a music cruise a few years ago and they gave ear plugs to everyone in their cabin, even the event coordinators were aware of the level.
  6. When I asked on the Discovery 3 weeks ago if I could just get gelato if I had the package, I was told I could only have either vanilla or chocolate, none of the other flavors. I figured it was because the sundaes are only made with either vanilla or chocolate, so they had more quantities of these. Sounds like there are no set guidelines for the employees, it just depends on who's working as to what you will be told.
  7. We always use wifi calling, you can get phone calls too. We do not have iPhones.
  8. Just got off a week long cruise on Saturday, they didn't show it.
  9. Another thing I remember from our cruise in May were the sweet potato and black bean tacos available at the grill by the pool. I think they came with cheese, but you could ask for them without. I am going to check on them, we leave tomorrow! I take a few items with me when I don't have to fly because I watch my sugars - my own salad dressing, sugar free jam, sugar free coffee flavoring, and sugar free chocolate since I've never really cared for cruise ship desserts. Stevia extract sure has helped me. I have a late afternoon spa service on boarding day, so I will be trying room service first. Looking forward to trying the new menus and I really appreciate this thread. Thank you so much for posting the menus and your opinions I like soup, I hope I have better luck with those.
  10. Unless they've changed the veggie burger since my last cruise in May, it's the worst thing I've ever eaten on a cruise ship. It's basically a mashed potato patty with some other chopped vegetables in it, and it's always been cold. I asked about a Boca or other similar burger and they didn't carry them. I doubt if they'll ever get "official" Dole Whip since it's a branded product, maybe some shipboard version, or I think they have sorbet at the gelato station, I'll be looking for it on my cruise (leave on the 4th). It's just pineapple sorbet, put through a soft serve machine.
  11. I haven't been directed to a dressing room since cruises started after the pandemic, it's always change in the treatment room. What I do is scout out the staircase that comes down/up by the spa, change in my room into robe and slippers and then go up and down that staircase. I hate getting the massage oil on my personal clothing.
  12. YUM 🙂 I will plan on going to the dining room just to try the menu. I hope they have some selections on the buffet too as I'm traveling solo this time and I usually don't go to the dining room when I travel alone. Maybe they can give me to go!
  13. I'm up for trying all of it, though ordering every course would be too much food for me. Are they doing any desserts? We're on the Discovery on the 4th and I asked if they had rolled out the menu yet and got an affirmative. It will be good to give feedback.
  14. Hello! Enjoying your review. We board the day you get off. Do you know if they have rolled out the new vegan menu on the Discovery? Someone posted a couple of days of it, but they are on a different ship. Thank you very much!
  15. Can you request a vegetarian option? Most of these types of things are unavailable to me, but I will be on the Discovery in a couple of weeks. Thank you!
  16. The November 4th one? I will be too 🙂 I will miss my caprese sandwich if I can't find one, I'll have to get one in port somewhere!
  17. I can't remember, does Princess have a sandwich making station on the buffet? Maybe we can all get our favorites made there?
  18. Do they still have the caprese? That's my embarkation sandwich 🙂
  19. YEAH! I hope they will be offering some of these items on the buffet as well as in the dining room. When I solo cruise, I seem to avoid the dining room. I saw that Carnival is doing the same, the examples they gave in the press release for Carnival were different.
  20. I had to laugh at this. My first meal on a Princess ship was upon boarding, ordering a veggie burger. On other lines, it;s a Gardenburger or Boca burger type burger. Imagine my surprise when I got a cold mashed potato and pea patty. It was and still is the worst thing I have ever been served on a cruise ship AND they haven't changed it. Ordered on in the dining room on our last trip just to see, yep, still cold potatoes and weirdly mashed other veggies, cold on a bun.
  21. This. When you select the treatment, it shows you the various prices for the days and times of your cruise. Sea days are always more pricy than shore days and embarkation day can have a nice discount. I booked a massage for embarkation evening for the first time for my upcoming cruise because it was about $50 cheaper than the next day.
  22. I like the caprese sandwich, also the watermelon and feta salad. They used to have a "croissant of the day", but last time I cruised, they didn't vary them that often. I get Americanos and bring my own flavorings.
  23. I have seen cruisers eating kosher meals at lunch (delivered in the packaging). I noticed that they brought some of their own condiments with them.
