We are not loyal to any one cruise line, choosing rather an itinerary and cost comparing.

    Spring/summer 2021.

    1.  June 7.  Crown Princess.  12 day.  Southampton, Guernsey, Cobh, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, SEA, Orkeny Islands, Invergordon, Edinburgh, SEA, Le Havre, Southampton.

Refundable deposit, Wi fi, Grats, premium beverage, balcony $7798

VERY concerned about the age, wear and tear of the Crown, especially bedding.

              Otherwise the itinerary is ideal.

    2.  July 31.  Celebrity Reflection.  12 day.  Amsterdam, Dover, SEA, Cobh, Dublin, Liverpool, Belfast, Glasgow, SEA, Inverness, SEA, Bruges, Amsterdam

Refundable deposit, beverage package, $300 OBC, grats. Balcony $6758.

Have been on Reflection and liked it.  However, recent reviews show long waits for dining due to new cabin creation.

Would appreciate your recommendations.  Is June 7 too cool, is July 31 too warm.  Ships, ports, what do you prefer.

By the way, 70's retired, still very active, don't mind a port intensive cruise, but would like things to keep us occupied on SEA days as well.

We have been to Amsterdam and Dublin and London and Paris and Normandy, otherwise all new.

We got off the Crown last week and, sadly, we were disappointed.  The ship is in desperate need of updating....our mattress was so soft that I sunk into it.  Very uncomfortable.  We had a permanent black ring in our toilet.  Peeling paint all over the place.

That being sad I must say the staff was amazing and the food was the best we have had on any Princess ship!

Kind of what I was afraid of.  And having just been in dry dock in 2018??

  4. We have cruised with Princess in the past, twice on Coral and once on Royal, but it has been several years.  Looking at 12 day British Isles in June, 2021.

Pricing for balcony cabin comes in about $325pp/pd, which is a little higher than I like to go.  Includes Wifi, grats and premier beverage, with refundable deposit.

How do you like the Crown (we LOVED Coral!)?  Any recommendations for cabin choice?

  5. Email sent to TA, requesting reply to the following:

How much to upgrade to A1, and what effect to our current perks

If that doesn't work (prices have risen), how about changing to 9110

How about a suite with Luminae, how much$$$ extra,

    Awaiting answer.

We got a great rate for this cruise, booked when first offered.  Will have some wiggle room if the price is right.

Again, thanks for all your recommendations, and will let you know the outcome.

  6. It's a beautiful ship, and crew was by far the friendliest we have encountered in a long while.  Be prepared and pre-reserve all that you can before sailing.  Then, make a plan to immediately go to the deck (seems it was 6th, but don't remember for sure) to reserve other things like Prohibition, etc . upon boarding.

Speaking of Prohibition, while a personal preference, I would not do this again.  Make sure you are Really early to get a seat for the Beatles cover band.

The Atrium bar is a good place to people watch.  Servers are top notch here.

Observation lounge is a beautiful place to sit and watch the world sail by.  Bar is also very good.

    Best meal was at Teppanyaki.

We were disappointed in the expensive behind the scenes tour, but again personal preference.

Enjoy your cruise in good health!

  7. Hello Paul

Excited to see your ABC review.  We will be on the Connie next November.  Our cruise leaves from Tampa. Looking forward to your island reviews.

You got a Fantastic deal on this cruise:  Way to go!  We will be in Aqua, with a couple of perks and about half your OBC for the same price.  Good for you!

I loved the story of your cruise friend sending a picture so you and his sister could connect in Miami.  Cruising does wonderful things!  We are friends with a group who cruised together on Summit 8 years ago, and we stay in touch, cruise together when possible.

    Keep it coming!!

  8. The drinks are premixed, no ordering.  5 passed around in the hour long show.  Some better than others.

I wouldn't pay to do this show again.  It is in a small venue with some seating that has really poor sight lines.  If you choose to attend, make sure it is before or well after dinner.
