Yes, they were a reimbursement.   With two weeks ordering cards,  you have a chance of them not making it.

Agreed, but I went ahead and risked it only because we are going on another cruise in April. We can use it then if they don't arrive before we leave later this month.

Today our Gift Cards came in the mail.  Over $1900 reimbursed in 5 different GC in 5 different FedEx envelopes.  Considering we had the holiday weekend, I think they came pretty quickly.

Sorry I misunderstood. You got yours from Carnival.

Can I ask when you heard about the approval? We are scheduled to sail August 7 (3 weeks from now) and still haven't heard. It's very frustrating because we are waiting to book airfare, hotel, etc.  Our PVP had thought we'd hear at least 30 days before but no luck so far.

We found out on June 23, but that’s because we are only the third cruise out on the Horizon.

We have another cruise booked on the Mardi Gras for August and they are now saying we won’t know until a week before we cruise.

I am guessing Carnival hopes a lot of families cancel before they have to make the final exemptions.

You need to submit for exemption. Carnival has been fairly clear that exemptions are almost all for children. There was an exemption for a 16 yo I read for a medical reason. I have not heard of one for an adult yet but that doesn't mean there haven't been any. At this point, you are only in the window for J&J if you are thinking of getting a vaccine. I would not be expecting to cruise on July 31 if unvaccinated. No real percentages, but I would guess less than 1% chance.

I know of adults who have been approved and I think you’re missing the point. It says for Florida cruises. Both Texas and Florida have exemptions so why would this just be talking about Florida unless changes are coming starting July 31.

Certainly appears there is a change of policy coming in Florida. Otherwise, why isn't insurance required in Texas as well. They have the same exemptions as Florida.

Exactly no one else is reading it thoroughly. It doesn’t seem to have anything to do with exemptions if they’re just talking about Florida.

I could agree with that IF the Horizon was sailing anywhere  but in the U.S. ,it is sailing from a U.S. port, I wish we could have seen the FULL announcement. Perhaps it would have been signed by someone we recognize. It's just something smells fishy to me.

It’s legit. A ton of folks have received the email for their kids. They all had the date the EU way.

I really don’t think this changes anything for Carnival’s July and August cruises, they will go forward with what they’ve announced - everyone must be vaxxed except a small amount that apply for and get approved exemptions- of which will be required to be masked while on the ship.  I don’t see Carnival doing a 180

I don’t understand why people keep saying the 5% of unvaccinated will have to wear mask. It’s NOT true! Mask wearing is recommended but only required during certain times and in certain places, like most of the 95%.

Congratulations for making the cut!  Have a great cruise!

Thank you, but we haven’t received ours yet! This is someone from a cruise going out 2 weeks earlier than us. Praying we get good news too and same for everyone that applied for their kiddos.
