I was so happy when I saw this thread.  I am on the Allure in October and am Type 2.  Food really gets the best of me and I admit it.  I get so confused on the carbs.  I know I can't have potatoes, rice or white bread.  I was on a cruise this past November on another cruise line and when I made my reservation I noted that I was diabetic.  I was told to talk with the maîtres'd and I did.  But when I went to the DR, I had to tell the server.  She then went and talked with the chef and he had no clue.  After about 45 minutes I got dinner.  This happened twice.  After that I went to the buffet for everything.  The selections were considerably greater and I was able to pick what I knew I could eat.  I ate all of my meals at the buffet from there on.  I haven't told RCCL yet about my situation, and I wonder if it will be handled any better than my last cruise.  I'm not on insulin but do have to take two different meds daily.  If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

Yesterday I checked out our grocery stores and didn't see any sf flavorings.  I really think it's sad that the International Cafe doesn't have those because there are so many diabetics now in this world, you would think they would try to accommodate those folks...I am one of them.  It will be interesting too to see what type of diabetic meals/options are going to be available.  Even though it was noted in my cruise documents, Princess still tells you to let "your" dining room staff know you're diabetic.  There are plenty of drops on the market to flavor water, so why not for coffee.  It doesn't make sense to me.

  4. I realized this morning I had not seen or read anything about what time our cabin/suite is available for occupancy.  I remember in years past, it could be 1 or 2 p.m.  The stewards kept the doors to the hallways closed and call cabins were locked.  Then, at the appropriate time an announcement was made saying we could go to our cabin or suite...since it's been four years since I've cruised, do they still do this or are they available when we board.  That's what I'm hoping for.

  5. I had heard that Princess had lowered the fares for our cruise.   So I thought why not ask if they would refare mine.  I figured what does it hurt to ask...right??  I contacted my TA and asked them to check into it.  Their first response was Princess said they had not refared our cruise so there wasn't anything they could do.  I thought, oh well, it didn't hurt to try.  Later in the day I received an email from my TA saying Princess had contacted them and, yes, the fare had been lowered.  They offered to reduce the amount I paid, keep the amenities package, I would get a refund and an OBC.  My jaw dropped.  So now  I have a very nice chunk of change to spend on jewelry, spa, etc. My promise is I will definitely spend all of it or the majority.  I'm a happy camper.

This is a curiosity question...is Princess limiting the number of  passengers on board?  I'm particularly interested about the Enchanted November 20, 2021 cruise.  I did a mock booking and there right at 100 mini suites still available.  However, the club minis were practically gone. There were also a good number of balcony cabins as well.  They weren't just scattered around the deck, they were in clusters (together).  I know...curiosity killed the cat...

  7. The app was up and  running fine and then I went from green to blue.  The first thing I tried to look at was the medical stuff.  When I click on it the screen goes white and will stay that way from an hour to most of the day.  The only way I can get out of it is to power off my phone.  This whole process is absurd.  I found a phone number to call and got a recording that it was no longer in service.  Do any of you know who I should email and what that address is?  I would love to have that information.

    @lakemurraykid you may want to look at your travel checklist section to see whether Medallion has dropped something that was originally checked off as green.  For some reason this happened to me last week... the app suddenly showed that we needed our passports added even though they have been there for months.  I simply checked on the already uploaded documents and “added” them again and everything went back to green.   Double check to see that all the green bubbles are still green- it could be a simple glitch in the app. 

    Shelly, thank you for suggesting this. I had been at green until this happened.  I did make a mistake -- I'm not at yellow but at blue.  But again, I really appreciate your reaching out to me.

Ombud, I've tried to get back into the medical stuff on medallion and all I get is a white screen.  So there you have it.  The medallion worked great up until a few days ago and now it has this hiccup.  How did Princess notify you that you  needed to recertify your health status?  I haven't gotten anything from them.  Plus, 24 hours prior to embarkation, I will be flying to Fort Lauderdale.

    I was incorrect about now being in the yellow line -- I should have said blue line.  I still don't know what that means.

I got on the medallion app today and when I got to the health questions the entire screen went to white.  The only way I could get out of it was to shut my phone down.  But also, I had been in the green line and have since been moved back to the blue line.  Does anybody know what that means?  I hate this app; have had nothing but problems with it.  I think I'll only use the medallion to unlock our door and for the drink package.  I've read lots of people have been trying to make dining reservations and having great difficulties with that too.

When I read EZ Air was charging $635 to change a  flight my jaw dropped.  For my upcoming cruise in November I checked EZ for flights and prices and they were the exact same as Delta.  Also I have had to change my Delta flights twice and they did not charge me their typical $200 per ticket to change.    Because of Covid, they have dropped those change fees.  I will stick to working directly with the airline.

Yesterday I went in my medallion app and saw where I was now in the yellow line.  I was in a hurry and didn't have time to look at how I'd answered questions.  After reading this thread, it has me concerned because I may have said I had lung cancer.  I haven't traveled internationally or been around anyone who has/had Covid.  If I did indicate I had had lung cancer, what should I do?  Do I need a letter from my oncologist stating I am cancer free and fine to travel to show at embarkation?

I was just on my roll call for November 20, Enchanted Princess, and  learned Princess has eliminated Grand Turk and replaced it with (of all places) Nassau.  One person on our roll call said Princess sent out an email this morning telling about this.  I did not get the email nor did it go to my junk folder.  So, for those of you who are on this cruise and didn't know about the change, you need the posts on the roll call.

When my husband and I would cruise we would always prefer an aft balcony or suite.  The elevators were never crowded and we could get to the buffet without any  problems.  We especially liked having aft corner suites with the wraparound balcony.  You could see for miles and, at night, we never had issues with noise.  I wish he was still with me as he would thoroughly enjoy my November 20 Thanksgiving cruise.

    I'm with you!!  The only difference I get a floater of dark rum and it makes a huge difference.  My other thought was an Espresso Martini.  Does Enchanted have a bar where they make "handcrafted" cocktails?

If you're really uncomfortable with flip flops, go  to a hobby store and get maybe some tile stones and hot glue them onto the straps, OR get some bling for them.  I think that would be hilarious.  He will be fine in whatever he wears.  I can't wear heels anymore so I'll be in sandals all the time or ballet flats.  I could care less what others say, so that's the attitude ya'll need to take.

  18. Today I wrote to Princess regarding an upsell -- we're in a club mini.  Within about 90 minutes i had a response saying that did not have any upsells now but to continue watching.  I knew it was a shot in the dark and that's fine.  I just wanted to try it.

  19. Could someone please give me the email address to write to regarding an upgrade or upsell.  I am now in a club mini and like those, but this is a special cruise for me.  I am taking my son because I lost my husband the latter part of 2019.  This will be the first cruise I've taken since he passed.

    I really appreciate getting the email address.  Hopefully I'll get lucky.😊

    I couldn't agree with you more.  I either get an all white screen with nothing on it or the gray screen with the spinner.  I called somebody and she was very rude and said it's being worked on.  Yesterday I sent an email but haven't had a response.  Good luck!
