Any noise issues from the Windjammer in these aft cabins? Thank you.

What were the mask protocols in the bars/lounges?

I’m looking at the Celebrity plan versus another provider. Our cruise is in April, so we still qualify for the 48 hour cancellation provision. However, things could happen within that 48 hours. The Celebrity plan is about double the cost of the other plan. Is 48 hours worth $150? What price is piece of mind? Just thinking out loud.

For some reason internet seems always spotty in ports. I usually create a hotspot using TMobile Free International Roaming and seems to work fine.
We have T-Mobile so have data access in all ports. Always seems to work better than the ship’s internet. Appreciate the info.

I have recently joined the board of a non-profit. Of course two of the upcoming monthly meetings are while we will most likely be on a Celebrity cruise. Has anyone had success using the Stream internet for Zoom? Can I upgrade to Stream for just one day? Appreciate the insight.

Thanks for the replies - just checked, and FCCs are already returned to our accounts. However, not all of them. I need to find out if we were assessed a penalty.
The FCC we used for this cruise was from multiple previously canceled cruises. Although my detail seems to be missing a portion that should be credited back, the total in my account is correct.

Handled mine through email with my TA. Mine was all booked with FCC. Showed back up in my account almost immediately.

Date of sailing: 3/4/21 Equinox
Cancel or Cruise: At this point cruising
Thoughts: Omicron is supposed to burn out quickly and bring herd immunity, but only time will tell.
We did just cancel 1/19 cruise with Princess. Not only risk of Covid, but flights are a mess, ports are closing and services are needing to be cut due to crew exposure. We had a great ride on the Summit this summer and fall. Not willing to chance it right now.

Does anyone know if this applies to all cruise dates in Jan? Carnival sent
emails to guests stating it was for
cruises through and including Jan 14, 22.
Not sure if PCL has a date restriction.
TIA
Based on the recording it is for all January cruises.

I never had any concerns about a January 2022 cruise, especially after having sailed six times already since the restart. I found this decision to be extremely stressful, way more than the others, probably because I thought all of the drama was behind us and it would be smooth sailing by this point. We are the same. We have sailed seven times since early August, the last was mid-December. So much has changed in two weeks. Between Covid risk, airline messes, tighter protocols (which I understand) and some ships reporting reduced services because of staff being impacted, it’s just not worth it. Did you rebook the Enchanted?

I rebooked at current rates, but the difference was only $28 total. I was asked if I wanted the same promo the canceled cruise was booked under. This is the sixth time I have booked this particular cruise; the first five were canceled during the pause in operations.Thank you. Yes, we are trying to use FCC from a canceled cruise in March/April 2020. We were so certain this timing would work.

Sorry, I intended to rebook so there was no discussion about other options.Assume your rebook was at current rates. If there was a price and perks protection I might reconsider booking the same cruise at a later date.

I just got off a chat. I was told by Bridgette that we could get FCC, did not have to immediately rebook. She also said if we already had a cruise booked we could apply the FCC to it. I am booked through a TA so we’ll see what he finds out tomorrow.

The one that disconnected me earlier today was Bridgette. Aubrey was really good. She kept letting me know when it was taking a bit of time for the step she was on. The cruise has been successfully rebooked and the only issue is that she added insurance to the new cruise that wasn’t on the original one. I am waiting to see if my third-party insurance can be transferred, then I will call or chat again to have it removed. I am both sad that we won’t be cruising next week and relieved.Did you have to cancel and rebook, or could have canceled and taken the FCC to rebook in the future?

We are able to rebook but only will receive FCC with a deadline that we will be unable to meet. Does this also mean that the claim that I would have been able to file with my independent insurance company prior to their policy change is now gone since Princess will give us FCC. I just feel sick.
I hope you can work something out. Are you UK or US? What deadline did they give you?
-
To me, the message implies you need to rebook at the time you cancel. I’m hoping that’s not the case as I’d like a little more time to think things through, rearrange calendar items, etc. Would be happy to take the FCC initially.

First time on Princess. We are booked for Feb 5 on Regal. Since Omicron is so prevalent and things seem really bad, considering cancelation. I was reading the cruise with confidence info and not very clear. I hate to pull the plug since it seems like people on board are doing fine and who knows? Would like to wait and see since things change by the hour. BUT if we wait past the 30 days, will we lose a lot of money???? HELP!!!!
Yes, if you wait past 30 days you risk losing all your money if you don’t have “cancel for any reason” insurance through Princess or on your own. Based on the current recorded message for Princess Customer Service, it appears they are giving those booked on January cruises the option to rebook for a later date, but they are closed for the holiday weekend so details are missing. No idea if that will be expanded or not.
Only you can determine your risk tolerance. We have been on seven cruises from early August through mid-December. Had a great time, little to no Covid and it felt like the old days. Things have changed a lot in just two weeks. We have a Princess cruise scheduled mid-January and will be moving it if we can. We’re not overly concerned about getting sick, more concerned that it won’t be the cruise experience we want as well as the number of ports that are turning ships away.

Another ask for anyone who learns more about the provisions of the offer to report back. Booked through a TA so will have to wait until Monday and I know he’s going to be swamped.

Yours is a very valid point of view. Let us not discount the 'power of suggestion' or 'the placebo effect' or the tenet "Whatever the mind can conceive of and believe in, can be achieved" (Napoleon Hill) or 'perception is reality.' The mind is a very powerful 'thing', not to be trifled.
We sailed with Captain Matt for three weeks in August. He does not take any of this lightly.

Can TA's look up current booking capacity of future sailings?
Don’t know that this or a mock booking works right now. Due to capacity controls it seems blocks of cabins are made unavailable. At least that’s how it was on our recent Celebrity cruises. If you did a mock booking you would have thought many more cabins were booked than actually were.

Do you remember how you used it?
There are steps during which the proctor needs to see something: identification, that the test is still sealed, the condition of the test pac, etc. That requires the use of the camera. It especially tricky when your trying to do something with the swab and using the camera at the same time.

ChicagoPaul,
Did you do the test kit from Celebrity for your Covid test? Or did you go to a local place in Fort Lauderdale?
Has anyone used an IPad to do their test? That’s all we have to use. I read that laptop is better to use but there was no mention if a IPad was good or bad.
Thank you.
We have used iPad as well as iPhone. A bit clunky trying to figure out how to use the camera, but it works.

This is the second time we have experienced a captain announce that this will be the last announcement of the cruise or of the old year, and then have to come on again about some emergency. At 1:00 pm Captain Matt announced 4 more passengers this morning tested positive (24?). He stated that it is now a "company decision" that all passengers must wear masks at all times, except when eating or drinking.
P.S. Tonight is lobster night. Everyone comes early to dinner.
That’s a significant move for Celebrity.
