  5. Deck 6

    Cabin # - 6596

    Class – D1

Front Starboard, Front Port, Back Starboard, Back Port, Central Park, or Boardwalk - FRONT/MIDSHIP

    Bed near?(balcony or bath) –Balcony

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – YES &NO PROBS. BUT SMALLER THAN USUAL D1s.

Balcony View - GOOD SEA VIEW. SEE ABOUT 15% of LIFEBOAT IMMEDIATLY BELOW. NO OBSTRUCTION AND NEARER SEA THAN HIGHER CABINS.

Balcony Size? 2X THE SIZE OF NORMAL D1S, AND SQ IN SHAPE. LOTS OF SHADE TO WARDS THE CABIN DOORS DUE TO OVERHANG.

    Was wind a problem? NO

Any specific problems with this cabin? JUST SMALLER AND LIMITED DRAWER CLOSET SPACE. SMALL SAFE FOR SUCH A LARGE SHIP!!!!!

Any other comments? MOST COMFY BED SLEPT IN ON CRUISE SHIP.

  6. EQUINOX Deck 7

    Cabin # 7316

    Class - 2B

    Starboard or Port Side -Starboard.

    Bed near?(balcony or bath) Bath

    Quiet Cabin-YES

    Balcony View - Great view

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

    Was wind a problem? NO

Any specific problems with this cabin? No

Any other comments? Cabin was towards the aft from the central elevators. Personaly I prefer to have bed by Bath, it gives a larger area in that part of the Cabin. ALSO on Equinox the shelves and safe have been taken out of the wardrobe. The shelves gone, create more hanging space and the safe has moved to above the mini bar in the central cabinet area (much better).

  7. EQUINOX 6153 Deck - 6

    Cabin # -6153

    Class - 2B

Starboard or Port Side - PORT

    Bed near?(balcony or bath) balcony

Quiet Cabin- Mostly - see additional comments

    Balcony View - Great view

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? No not on this 2day as no wind really.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? No

Any specific problems with this cabin? No

Any other comments? The cabin was opposite the front elevators. The state atndants trolley was left outside the door on occasions. Balcony was normal size but there was no left frosted partition so got a view of whole side of the ship as balcony is 1st on hump. Not a prob grt view, but wind could be and if look down and left then see all the tops of the lifeboats down the side of the ship.

  10. Has anyone seen our favorite X Maitre d' ? His name is Shaddie Sahadi (as close as I can get to the spelling) He is from Australia and the last time we saw him was in June of 2004 on the Summit in Alaska. He made my birthday something special by getting us an invitation to the Chief Engineer's Table for dinner. We are hoping he will be on the Solstice, is there any way to find out where he is???

We asked about him on Summitt in March and they told us he had left Celebrity and was living in S Africa now. He is a super guy who went out of his way to make you feel welcome, nothing too much trouble:) .

    RICH...................

  11. We will have $500 OBC for our upcoming Connie cruise. $300 is in Celebrity Rewards American Express and $200 is from shareholder OBC. Are you saying that if we don't use the entire $500 (which is pretty improbable), we can get money back?

    Jo-Ann

Your two OBC`s you have will still be combinable under the new rules, its putting shareholders with booking on board OBC and Celeb Capt Club $ off Vouchers that will be a no no  .

Its been posted earlier that some passengers cash there OBC for cash at the casino, -minus3% charge for doing so, so I guess you could do this with your unused OBC on last night of the cruise.

    Hope that helps........... RICH

  12. I honestly believe that RCI does not care about the people that are spending the 100 dollar OBC that may cost them only 30 dollars on drinks or even those that have 400 dollars worth of OBC and spend it all on board;what I feel they have trouble with are the people who cash out the OBC in the casino and pocket it costing them $97 and especially those who cash out 400 dollars of OBC costing them $388.

WOW I didnt realise that could happen. Why have they not stopped that from happening by keeping casino "cash withdrawal" separate on accounts. Or put a rule that cant be COMBINED with cash withdrawals

  13. Basically correct, but I know of at least one cruiser (me :D) that would cut my spending my just about the OBC. I have a budget for out of pocket expenses and rarely exceed it. Yes, I would have to spend a little bit more (and that would be extra profit), but it wouldn't be as much as the OBC I lose for a particular cruise. I am also more willing to consider another cruise line since some of the repeat-cruiser perks are now gone or cut. Why not try another brand since I don't feel I am getting very much for my loyalty? Even if I try only one time and return, they will lose a LOT more than they made off of me by cutting the combined OBC.

Before anyone flames me and says I shouldn't run away over this issue, I'm not saying that. I laugh at people who take one issue and say "I'll never cruise with these bozos aggain!". What I am saying is that the overall rewards for loyalty to the RCL/Celebrity brand is getting less and less enough to keep me from considering others. For the past 7 years and 22 cruises, I never even priced other cruise lines. Now I will look at others and may find one I like. That's the risk RCL is taking.

I agree but love the Celebrity and RCL cruises too much to change over this even though Iam not happy or agree with it. RICH
