  1. The Atlantis Aquaventure....... I see it online through 'Resort For a Day', for $150 each. We will be there Friday March 16th. I'm contemplating purchasing it now online, or just waiting until we get there and walk up. I understand it's a gamble if we wait, but it's a good chunk of money that we're not 100% sold on forking out. Is this time of year considered to be a busy time? Does anyone know if it sells out often? Will it still be the same price if we did a walk up?

  2. I tried this on the Bahamas Board, but nobody replied, so hopefully someone on this Board has had experience with the Booze Cruise.

I read it on the Island Marketing / Bahamascruiseexcursions website. A boat cruise with music and unlimited drinks....which sounds like a fun time to us. Has anyone booked through this website or experienced this excursion?

  4. Or could we go somewhere (like a Staples, etc...) to use their internet & printer, after the cruise? Spirit's website says that it'll cost $$ to print our Boarding Passes, from a self check-in kiosk, at the airport.....we've always just used the kiosk at the airport for no charge. Did this change? Or do they mean it'll cost money if we go up to the desk and have an employee check us in?

    TIA

  5. We had to cancel - medical - in December 4 days before we sailed. We were booked Early Saver.

We had the Carnival Insurance. We got everything back except the cost of the insurance so we spent $200 to get back $2,000

Wow, that was a good return. But that was a medical reason, so I'm sure you had to produce documents from the Dr, to prove it......but this wouldn't be medical, so we probably will just get a future cruise credit. (I also purchased the vacation protection)

  6. Thanks for all your input. I liked the idea of bringing a Bubba Keg. Actually, some of your ideas helped me think of a good plan....I enjoy my coconut rum with blue Powerade, so I thought maybe I could buy a 6 pack of Powerade and just mix the drinks in the Powerade bottles.....I also have a little cooler bag that looks like a purse, so I could fit a few pre-mixed bottles in the purse with some ice and have drinks for quite a while between cabin visits. See, it helps to put our heads together and brainstorm :)

  7. I've bought the Cheers package before and thought later that it really wasn't worth it for me personally. This time I was thinking of ordering a bottle of Malibu Rum for our cabin, so that I can just make a drink here and there, when I feel like one. The bottle is around $80......expensive bottle, IMO, but ok..... do a lot of people really purchase these bottles? I'm trying to get some honest opinions, to help me justify whether this is a good alternative idea, or not. Sometimes the wisdom of others is helpful, I find.

Yes, We love Topher! Play with him every time we go to Grand Turk! Above is a link to my video that shows Topher. You can scroll to his part in the video. Great dog and LOVES tourists! Have a great cruise!

Hey, what a great video!! Very entertaining. I always wondered what a cove balcony was.... thanks. Great shots of Topher .... he sure likes to dig!

  9. I don’t like leaving my dog either, luckily we usually do Grand Turk and spend the day at Jack’s. My dog is also a golden doodle so it’s nice to watch the shared manuerisms.

I bet the similarities warm your heart. Any type of reminder is good for a quick fix.

  10. Topher is a great dog, but please beware. There are several stray dogs on this beach, my husband had a broken ankle and was laying on chair relaxing when Topher and a stray started to fight over my husbands chair (they both wanted the food my husband was eating), he could not move to get up and out of the way. He was injured, we are not sure which dog bit him, but one of them did and broke the skin, he was bleeding all over. A worker came down to break up the fight and to give my husband some towels to wrap his arm. The owner did apologize, but my husband will never go to Jack's Shack again.

Oh wow, that's terrible! I will definitely be alert, if other dogs are around. Thanks for the heads up. I hope your husband was ok after that. Dog fights can be a horrible experience.

  11. On one cruise we were on very few people ventured down to Jacks. Topher hung out by me all day! It was awesome! He sat by my chair, every 15 minutes or so he would "catch the digging bug" and tear off to the shore line and dig a couple holes, then come back and sit by my chair again. When we went in the water, he came in with us and swam along side us the whole time. He even came and sat under our table when we went up for lunch. No idea why he decided to hang out with me that day, the 4 other times I had been there it was a quick pet and off he would go!

Wow, lucky you! It sure must've been hard to leave him behind, after him showing you so much loyalty!

  12. The only one thing that holds me back from being totally excited about my upcoming March cruise, is the fact that I'll miss my dog terribly. I just recently read about Topher the dog, at Jack's Shack in Grand Turk. I will definitely be heading down the beach to get my fix and give this guy some hugs. Has anyone else had the pleasure?
