  1. Do you know what time you will be able to get off the ship? There are many things you can see on a 4 hour drive. Other things might be the Iolani Palace and a relaxing afternoon at Waikiki. Or if you like art, a visit to the Honolulu Art Museum with a visit to the Doris Duke home, Shagri La. The location is beautiful, and a great tour. The museum has a wonderful restaurant to enjoy lunch before or after the tour. Cherie

    The ship docks at 6am.

  2. Getting off the cruise on Sept. 22 -have a 4:45pm flight. looking to possibly rent a car and tour the island. Have heard because of the rail construction traffic is much worse than usual. any experience with this? don't want to miss flight.

  3. Thank you all, I am booking a car rental in the ports. My only concern I with the traffic in Honolulu tht I have read about. If I want to drive around for about 3 hours or so what time of day would be best?

  4. 1st timer (and maybe only time)- Cruise stops include: Hilo, Kona, Lahaina (Maui), and Kauai. Not sure if I should research tours with locals or rent a car at each port and use a guide book. Anyone with experience in this area or is aware of 1 day suggested itineraries for DIY for these ports, please let me know.

  6. questions about our stops at Freeport and Nassau:

    1. Instead of paying the $35 PP for Paradise Cove/Deadman's Reef, is it correct to assume this pricing structure if I bring my own snorkel equipment: $16 RT shuttle + $3 admission to Paradise Cove + $5 for beach chair = $24? Am I missing anything?

    2. Is the $8 shuttle price one way the same price for children?

    3. Looking at their website, paying over $50 PP for a beach day at Blue Lagoon Island is high for me. Is there another less expensive option for Blue Lagoon Island? Possible to catch a public ferry there and pay less, etc...any ideas?

    Thanks.

  7. 1st timer in St. Kitts - Have heard much good about both. Which should I select? Here are the Royston tour details:

you would circle the island clockwise starting on the Caribbean side touring Basseterre then working around to the Atlantic stopping at Romney Manor, Caribelle Batik, Brimstone Hill Fortress, Dieppe Bay point, Black Rocks, Timothy hill and a few other scenic places. the island tour is about 5 hours then have lunch at a beach (south friars) on the peninsula where you can then have some beach / snorkel time if you like before heading back.

  8. I enjoy the warm over the cold, but would like to try this adventure. But I want to be able to enjoy it without "feeling cold" the whole time. For those who have been there, would you recommend wearing a full wetsuit? Do people do that there?

  9. cruisemom42,

The Archeolical museum in Naples is closedon the Tuesday w are going. Any recommendations what to pair with Herculenuem for the port day?

  10. You'll be here on the "hol hamoed" of Sukkot, which are the "weekdays of the festival". Which means that not only everything will be open, but also that everything will be more crowded, as many would be on vacation.

Maybe it won't affect that much the Christian sites - like Capernaum, but everywhere else surely will be more crowded - especially Jerusalem (oh, the traffic!) ..

On the other hand - I think you'll greatly benefit from the festive atmosphere and the "special events" in the cities. It should be fun!

    Miriam

    thanks!
