  1. "Also, If you do wish to quote part of this review, try your hardest to only take the section you need, as when you take the entire post, the forum gets clogged up and then it’s difficult to tell what’s the actual review, thank you for your consideration."

Lol I caught that too. It's like when John Heald asks on his (site F we cannot B mention here) a yes or no question and tells that everybody that he would like for them to simply reply with a "yes" or "no", nobody ever does. There is always some long winded answer of why they said yes or no.

Nobody likes reading and following the directions for some reason.

  2. I love your style of writing! I love how enthusiastic you seem. I love how you do the planning for your family's cruises. When I was your age, I did too. I still do all of the cruise planning.

Your review is off to a great start. Can't wait to read more. In fact, because of your review, you've inspired me to write one for my upcoming Breeze cruise in April. I've done the Breeze before, and it is my favorite Carnival ship next to Liberty.

  3. I love cruising Carnival but with all due respect (to you and to Carnival), they have nothing on other cruise lines. RCCL's adults only pool area is nice and relaxing. Disney goes all out by not only a pool area, but bar areas and restaurants for only adults. And other cruise lines cater to more adults in general. I wish Carnival would get a bit of their ideas from Disney and have more adults only secluded areas.

But if Serenity is all they really offer for now (and adults only pools on some ships), I'm happy with it. No, they will not be taking it away. Based on what I and others have said, the competition has adults only areas so clearly Carnival can't do away with theirs. But there is definitely room for improvement.

  4. I have a similar situation. My mom and I usually cruise together. She is usually the primary account holder. This time my boyfriend and I are cruising together. I am the primary account holder. For some reason, every time I get a confirmation email about something, it has my mom's name in the subject line. I have checked numerous times on the booking and all the correct information is there for me and my boyfriend. But for some reason, my mom's name keeps popping up on emails.

Oh well. Me and him have booked a cruise on Carnival together before, so I don't think there is anything to worry about

  5. I think the people who were offended by this post were feeling just a bit sad because you weren't looking to hang out with them lol. Yes you guys are older, but you were young once too. Understand where the guy it's coming from. I'm sure when I'm 70, I'd want more 70 year olds to hand with. It isn't strange that because he's 30, he wants people in his age group to party with

One guy said his gf would consider this guy a kid. So obviously she doesn't wanna party with "kids".

Anyway, no worries guy. Not everybody has jobs where they get off for Spring, Summer, or Winter break (I'm a teacher so that's when I sail). Just like you guys, there are other young folks on that ship willing to have a good time with you.

I'm so jealous. I wish I could cruise in January. Off peak cruises are so cheap!

  6. If you enjoy candy bars, chips, etc., bring your own. The prices of these in the gift shop are outrageous!

I totally agree. With the ship having so much food, it's surprising that we would even need anything else to snack on. But its does happen. At least to me. For something like room service sandwiches. They come with plain Lays chips, but I like different ones (Flamin Hots, sour cream and onion, Doritos, etc). Or even for the beach excursions. Gum and mints too. Just try to bring your own because small things costs way too much.

  7. Maybe I overlooked these things but I don't think I saw them on the list

    Jeans and Sweaters

Even if it's a Caribbean cruise, it gets really cold at night on the ship. The AC is almost always on full blast. Going to dinner, the piano bar, or one of the shows will make you wish you had long pants and a sweater or two.

Try to bring a couple of cute warm cardigans. That way they can be mixed and match with a couple of outfits.

I learned this lesson when I was probably about 12 or 13 and I kept forgetting to bring a sweater for dinner for our cruises. I would borrow my mom's lol

  8. If I were you, I'd sail on Carnival's newer ships (Magic, Dream, BREEZE, VISTA).

They are bigger. They offer more kid friendly stuff (ropes course, Vista will have some sort of thing you can peddle around the ship on, 3D and theater, water slide, water park, etc)

Newer ships will help you really see where Carnival is.

And these real life friends of yours must only sail other lines and just repeat what they hear. Rumors and gossip is for people of all ages. I've cruised The Big Red Boat,RCCL, and Carnival. Majority on Carnival. When sailing on RCCL, I too hear these snooty comments, but I don;t take them into consideration at all because I know how awesome cruising on Carnival is.

I do have one personal experience from a sail away that sums up RCCL compared to CCL for me. Back in 2007 my mom and I were on Freedom of the Seas and the daily itinerary of the day said to head up top for the sail away party. So of course we did. Drinks in hand, after about an hour or so we started pulling out of port. There was music playing on the speakers but that was about it. Then we hear a lot ship horn and people cheering and dancing to loud lively music. Looked across the way and it was coming from a Carnival Ship. Me and my mom both said we would have to get back on Carnival. Haven't looked back since. Now, I have a great time on Royal for about 5 years. The big didderence for me between the 2 is that on RCCL, you have to make your own fun (as with anywhere) but on CCL, they pride themselves on doing their best to make sure you get out of your seat and have fun.

Check out pictures and youtube videos of these ships and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed. Especially if you choose something newer. Although Carnival's Conquest class ships are pretty amazing too. I personally wouldn't go older than those.
