  1. Please don't make a snarky comment about how I should use the "search function" or go onto the Princess site and try to navigate for an answer.  I have done both of these and it just makes me more confused.  We are sailing on the Sky out of Fort Lauderdale on November 20th and will fly out from New Hampshire before dawn on November 17th.  We have each had our Moderna vaccinations for over six months and will get our booster later this week and will carry appropriate documentation.  What is the latest on Covid Testing?  Will we have to get tested when we arrive in Fort Lauderdale and where can it be accomplished?  Thank you for your patience.

One thing we've wondered is should we take a few detergent pods.  Any thoughts on that?

I always do that and put them in a small plastic box inside of a double plastic bag.  It is cheaper than pay $1.50 for a small box of detergent.

I am surprised that people actually use these.

Love the name beryl patricia 🙂

Why would you be surprised that people actually want clean clothes and do not want to pay an outrageous price to send out a small bag of socks and underwear to be cleaned by the ship's laundry?

What are Princess Cruise Line's plans in regards to Florida Governor's wish to fine companies who request vaccination status?

The cruise lines are trying to keep passengers and crew safe.  I hope that Princess and other cruise lines call the governor's bluff.  Go ahead and fine us, and then come and try to collect it!

Yes. I remember that. I was going to buy this version when taking the girls:

But what I don't understand is all the posters who want to leave over $5pd. If I can't afford $35 a week I shouldn't be cruising

It is not what YOU can afford, it is what I can afford.  Please don't tell me what I can afford or not afford  and whether or not I should be cruising.

  6. We are now both turning seventy this year.  We have  thirty-one cruises under our belts, our last being in November of 2019.  We had a fourteen day back to back cruise scheduled for November of 2020, but needless to say, it was cancelled.  We now have a fourteen day back to back cruise scheduled for this November-December.  We hope that we shall sail.

Each time we cruise lately I wonder if it will be our last.  I have often said that we shall continue to cruise until we can no longer make it up the gangplank!  In late April of 2020 me darling wife of forty-eight years suffered a severe stroke.  While she is still quite lucid, she is unable to get around with out a walker or wheelchair and depends upon me for many daily tasks.  We have talked about whether to continue or cancel and she wants to take at least one more cruise.  We know that things will be different.  Flying will be more difficult and we shall have to bring the walker and plan on renting a wheelchair on the cruise.  We have been to all of the ports more than once and have decided that staying on the ship is something with which we can live.

If this cruise goes well, we shall not hesitate to book another.  If it is overwhelming, we shall have had the satisfaction of having sailed on thirty-two cruises.

We are currently accepting air reservations through November 5, 2021. On June 10, 2021 we will open our schedule for sale through January 5, 2022. This date is subject to change!

Thank you.  THAT is the answer that I have been trying to get!!!

  8. Does anyone know when Southwest Airlines will be accepting reservations for the remainder of November?  For quite some time now, they are only booking through November 5th.  I tried calling them, but the wait time was estimated to be two hours!😞  I have had better luck speaking with a live human being at the IRS!.  LOL!

I don't care what your husband wears. I have more important business like minding my own.

Well-said.  I have never understood why some folks concern themselves with what others choose to wear!

Regardless, it would also be incredibly hypocritical of Princess if they continued to allow paper advertisements in the case that they do start to limit patter dispersal in this scenario. No one wins here with the absolute needless pile of waste and I hope the ads are gone for good.

Exactly!  If saving paper is the goal, stop leaving a half dozen or so advertising throwaways at my door each day.

  11. Me darling wife and I are veteran cruisers with thirty-one cruises under our belts.  Like many folks, we aren't getting any younger, but I have always said that we shall continue to cruise as long as we can make it up the gang plank!   When our 2020 cruise looked like it was going to be cancelled, we booked a back to back cruise on the Sky Princess sailing both in the Eastern and then Western Caribbean.  We are set to sail on November 20th of this year.  Of course the big IF is whether or not Princess and other lines will be able to sail out of U.S. ports.  None of us will have any control over that.

Since all of this has taken place, me darling wife has suffered a severe stroke which has greatly impacted her mobility and she now uses a walker at all times.  We talked about the situation last night and she still very much wants to go on the cruise and we both recognize that past practices will now change in more ways than one.  I am prepared to ask our travel agent to change our cabin to one with disability access.   We agreed that renting a scooter makes sense.   Maybe someone who has done this before will give us some tips.  They would be appreciated.

I have been on several AK cruises both NB and out and back.  AK is our frontier state and as such many dress more casual on formal nights.  Personally I wear dockers and a button shirt sans tie.  I have never worn a tie on any cruise so far.  One thing I have been noticing in the last few years is the number of men wearing suits on formal night without a tie.

And the sun still rose and set each day.

Saw Dr Fauci on video from Mid January in which he said the virus would not be coming here. Apparently some of our politicians were listening to him but are blamed for not taking action.

Dr. Fauci realized how serious this was soon after that.  Some of those same politicians you mention still don’t get lt.   Maybe they should listen to him more and stop interrupting and contradicting him.
